What class/build are you using anyway? Do you interrupt?
Fun to fight against an enemy that chunks you for 1/4 of your hp with each attack that cant dodge. its basically a war of attrition and is in no way fun or exciting.

All you have to do with them is hit them while running circles around them. When they launch their 4 floating balls, kill the balls immediately. You get full health, she gets nothing. They are easy to solo after a few practice runs.
As far as mages go, they are the first thing that should be killed in every fight I encountered in this silly game.

Your the Vampire class with the NB option. That may explain some things.
Nightblade using Surprise attack, Killers Blade, Rapid Strikes, Midnight Drain, and Devouring Swarm. He was just using a basic attack. There was nothing to interrupt.

I always target the mob with the staff first. Get close and interrupt their casts.

I would recommend trying to have shadowy disguise instead of Rapid Strikes.
Why this is great while fighting mages?
1. Entering SD is an interrupt if they are casting a spell they will stop
2. If spells or arrows are fired as you enter it they will just pass trough you. AOE will still hurt.
3. Mobility
4. Shadowy disguise +Surprise attack= high crit damage+ 4.6 sec stun with all shadow passives. If you have good magicka regen you can actually spam this and stun lock almost any pve humanoid you find. This works for Septima Tharn at VR5 she never got a hit on me the ghosts were a different matter entirely.
5.Shadow barrier passive . I get 1750 armor and spell resist after leaving shadows for 4 second. It is just great if you go against mages.
Since you are a vamp you should also make sure you have the best fire resist you can get.
If you have mana problems you may also consider siphoning attacks. The damage reduction seems large but in reality it's not as big of a dps reduction as just not being able to use skills..
