Mages are the most BS thing to fight against

Fun to fight against an enemy that chunks you for 1/4 of your hp with each attack that cant dodge. its basically a war of attrition and is in no way fun or exciting.

This magical block thing never works for me. I dont know if its constantly bugged or what. Also I'm talking about boss NPC mages. Literally all he did was auto attack. Didnt use any specials or anything. So damn tedious.

Even the really crappy classes by which I mean not NB have stealth use it to take the mages first quickly.

Dodging should evade attacks if timed correctly. Not in this game though apparently.

Not Vet boss mages. I run out of mana to use my stun before I can kill him.

What class/build are you using anyway? Do you interrupt?

I don't know if it's latency or my mouse. The block releases itself, like all the time. 60% of the time the fireballs hit me or the melee swings me away.
People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

I've been saying this about Harvesters for weeks, except of course, they hold you in place first, take 80% of your health, and then heal to full.

All you have to do with them is hit them while running circles around them. When they launch their 4 floating balls, kill the balls immediately. You get full health, she gets nothing. They are easy to solo after a few practice runs.

As far as mages go, they are the first thing that should be killed in every fight I encountered in this silly game.

Not when their favorite tactic while the orbs are floating in is to grab you again and pop some more off or instakill you.

Mages are definitely a problem in a numbers of more than 2 in the Veteran Levels. I have 2 CC abilities on my bar, one cost Magicka and the other cost Stamina so that I can CC them until both my resources are depleted. Add a third Infantry or Tank NPC, then it's really difficult. Templars have this ability to reflect spells back and that is the only way I can defeat groups with mages. Casting both CC and the Reflect spell on the right units is difficult, and not often successfully but it's the only way I can take on those groups.

Don't have much trouble with Harvesters; they're powerful and can heal themselves. But I can usually get the regular ones killed before they can cast a second soul-sucking, bubble-making spell. Just take out the bubbles.

I do kinda find Sorcs in PVP a pain in the ass, in melee even with me locking them down they just teleport run, in range I get knocked down and hit with so much damage I'm dead in seconds.

PVE, I never have any problems though.

They must like the way I smell or something. They always spam The Feast with me. One of the rare exceptions was when they unleashed a single target homing attack I'd never seen before, and started spamming that until I keeled over. It didn't take long, it was hitting me for about 40% of my health.

Nightblade using Surprise attack, Killers Blade, Rapid Strikes, Midnight Drain, and Devouring Swarm. He was just using a basic attack. There was nothing to interrupt.

Your the Vampire class with the NB option. That may explain some things. :p

I would recommend trying to have shadowy disguise instead of Rapid Strikes.
Why this is great while fighting mages?
    1. Entering SD is an interrupt if they are casting a spell they will stop
    2. If spells or arrows are fired as you enter it they will just pass trough you. AOE will still hurt.
    3. Mobility
    4. Shadowy disguise +Surprise attack= high crit damage+ 4.6 sec stun with all shadow passives. If you have good magicka regen you can actually spam this and stun lock almost any pve humanoid you find. This works for Septima Tharn at VR5 she never got a hit on me the ghosts were a different matter entirely.
5.Shadow barrier passive . I get 1750 armor and spell resist after leaving shadows for 4 second. It is just great if you go against mages.

Since you are a vamp you should also make sure you have the best fire resist you can get.

If you have mana problems you may also consider siphoning attacks. The damage reduction seems large but in reality it's not as big of a dps reduction as just not being able to use skills..

    This.

I always target the mob with the staff first. Get close and interrupt their casts.

I am using concealed weapon, shadowy disguise, reaper's mark, steel tornado, invigorating drain and veil of blades for ult. So far i have not run into any enemy i could not defeat. Mages are usually easier because they have less hitpoints.

mark -> conc weapon -> heavy attack+conc wpn -> heavy+conc wpn -> drain -> ult -> spam tornado, with the occassional disappearing act as needed, is what i usually do, so far so good. We'll see if it holds for later(vet1 atm)

Thats a good point with the siphon attacks. I beat him by using a bow. Also, I forgot to add that I use Shadowy Cloak.

soon 2019 and still i agree with this.
History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.
