    - Scorch Gryphon!
    - Lotus with seasonal versions!
    - Spriggan!
all looks good and i am happy to finally see something and know more about my favourite class' refresh.

Personally i am fine with Templar being before Sorcerer, i am interested in all classes. Good to know that change early enough.

    Very interesting!

I think the warden community as a whole will be quite positive on this update and the warden refresh as a whole.

But i gotta ask, are there plans for a snow gryphon morph with frost damage? That would be amazing!

Love the new visuals, and new spriggan ability, Hope we get an updated bear model and maybe a choice of bear or something else in morphs.

Some abilities I never/rarely use are frozen gate, falcons swiftness (similar ability in psijic line) living vines, crystallized shield, and dive as better single damage.

Hope we get some abilities that interact more with the bear and other abilities but like what they done so far.

I'm excited for the Templar rework being moved up! I would need a Class Change Token to really care about other classes, though.

Sounds good. Although it will all probably take a really looooooong time for each class, because half the article is about setting those expectations.

    Still nice update.

As one of the more vocal people asking for this letter:

    Thank you.

I just hope if we have a similar events play out where you know the scope is being derailed, flag that sooner to us. Especially if timelines are already communicated.

I'm looking forward to returning once this class is refreshed. The progress so far is quite appealing.

Thanks for this post. The WIP concept images and clips are something that other studios have shared in blog posts like this one, which are often met with positive feedback. Hope we see more of this going forward.

As far as the warden refresh goes, I think the concepts the team is working with are fine. I will say that watching the footage, the new "scorch" animation is very offputting to me. It takes up a large amount of the caster's screen (visual clutter), and the damage does not sync with the animation. Perhaps the latter complaint here is just a WIP issue that will be resolved.

Is there any chance that future reworks can have their mechanical sides delivered before their animation sides? I can appreciate how difficult a time this must be for the studio, and it's understandable things are being impacted. But with no release date for this rework, it does not bode well for the timeline of the future reworks after warden. The negative impact these delays are having on PVP and PVE cannot be understated - I have friends leaving the game in droves, and I myself will likely be taking a break for U51. People just do not want play in an environment where only 1-2 classes are viable, and everything else is left 2 tiers below them. If it were possible to bring the power level of the reworked DK for example to the other classes before they receive the animation overhauls, it would massively alleviate the frustrations I'm seeing amongst the general PVP population.

    Okay, now I'm getting excited!

The new visuals look great already, baby netch is cute and far less intrusive. I can't believe we're getting a gryphon, that's such a lovely upgrade! I kinda want the spriggan to stick around longer when it's so pretty.

Having other seasons represented is excellent news and makes sense for the class. I hope we can maybe get a choice of pets alongside our revamped bear.

I always love seeing concept art and progress visuals. It's a nerdy thing, but I'm one of those people who enjoys looking at sketchbooks as much as finished art. Maybe we might get some new concept art wallpaper soon?

I'm also happy the Templars have been moved up the queue too, that was a very unexpected nice surprise and I think it's the right decision tbh. I know everyone wants the classes refreshed ASAP but I'm glad time is being taken to give us a really good rework and not rush it out the door.

this at all. Those pink butterflies look absolutely awful. Why would I want colorful flowers and butterflies flying around me when I’m playing a freaking deadly Frost Warden build? It completely kills the Frost fantasy.

Please give the Warden an actually spammable Frost ability instead. And while you’re at it, get rid of the Gate — let’s be honest, nobody uses it anyway.

Also, please do what you did with the DK and give ALL Warden skills a Frost-themed skin/visual effect. If someone wants to play a Frost-based Warden, at least let us actually LOOK and FEEL like we’re playing Frost.

I don’t want a deadly Frost Warden surrounded by pink butterflies and flowers. I want ICE, FROST, COLD, and something that actually fits the theme. ❄️

Cool effects for the warden. It's very interesting that Lotus has 4 variations. I wonder if Lotus will be an active skill used in combos now? I'm wondering if there will be a seasonal combo system where you can cast skills in certain order and get certain effects. Like using a spring skill first makes the next skill summer, and deals extra burst damage or something. Using a fall skill first makes the next skill winter and deal more chill procs.

On the note of bringing the technical side before the animation side, it’s something we’ll take back to the team. It’s a fair point to bring up.

I'm heartened to see actual positivity in this thread. It looks like great work, guys, and thank you for the update. I really appreciate the more general nature-themed skill effect changes, and the lessening of a dependence on Morrowind-themed creatures. I'm still a little unsure about the need to keep the betty netch, but I'm guessing that this update, with its more general "hover around the player" effect, means that it's probably easier to utilize in the Skill Styles system, and so hopefully this means that we can use other models for this and other Warden skills. It's not that I dislike the current effects, it's just harder to mentally compute when you don't have a Warden that comes from the Morrowind area. The spriggan and gryphon are lovely choices.

Again, really appreciate the update. You guys are doing some of your best work recently and I've been so hooked on the game over the past few months. The overland challenge changes and new Thieves Guild content in particular have been stellar additions in my opinion.

I love the new stuff shown, but I do have to say that I don't think the gryphon is a particular improvement over shalks. I actually think that I prefer shalks on scorch as I find that more visually appealing. And it feels much more in line with Dive, but I'm assuming you got rid of that one if this is the new scorch.

Assuming we get another morph for something other than a gryphon, based on the seasons, maybe it won't look as bad but that's the only replacement I feel is unnecessary. Like in game the shalks look and feel good to use I feel like it's the last skill in the game I'd have expected to get overhauled to that extent.

Otherwise, everything else, especially lotus flower and Betty netch look promising and pretty. Especially the thought of maybe is getting all seasonal morphs of multiple skills? I wonder how the logistics of that will work.

Cool to get a little sneak preview and update. I'm very excited about the seasonal theme since I also tend to play the game in a very seasonal way. New Scorch visual looks really cool and I love the updated Betty Netch. Can't wait to see more and to finally try it out next year, thanks for sharing.

I love everything I'm seeing except for the Gryphon. Idk it replacing Scorch just doesn't really make sense to me. It flies in like Dive does. Shouldn't it replace the cliff racer? I actually really liked the shalk beetles. They could have been replaced with a Thunderbug, aren't those everywhere in Tamriel?

The Spriggan pet is fun at least, giving what looks like a burst heal with the speed it goes off. And I love the floating Netch buddy, and the winter form of Lotus Flower. Those ice petals look so sick, I might have to pure class my Ice Warden back to use it. All in all, great work, I'm just confused on the Gryphon not replacing Dive.

I thought Warden was due to be released a couple weeks after the layoffs occurred. The changes look good, but seems like very early days still.
And what are the chances that warden will be released, just to get nerfed again as soon as the hollaring starts. 😐

It looks awesome, but I'm still a bit sad that we don’t even have a rough estimate of when it will be released. I know there are valid reasons for the delay, but waiting for who knows how long is disheartening. Especially considering that the second half of 2026 looks pretty sparse in terms of content... I’ll wait anyway, but I’d feel better if I had any idea how long this waiting time would be.

So you are "pivoting away from the Morrowind-specific visual theming to better represent the natural world across all regions in Tamriel", by using a gryphons? So not only is it just changing zone-specific animal, it's also a large visual.

Meanwhile the betty netch stays the same, so it's just going to be even more random collection of animals like how the bear felt random before.

Speaking of the betty netch. Why does it have to float "whimsically" around? Just make it smaller and no beam, but have it float behind us like the old one. Instead of all these distracting visuals.

Why does the Spriggan need bright pink flower petals and butterflies affects?

The Lotus Flower is nice, but the visual of that has never been much of a bother.

I hope there will be styleskills from the start to change visuals, especially to make them more subtle and subdued if they are big and flashy, or make a more coherent look.
Right now every class refresh feels like some deadline to when I can't use the class as much anymore, such as my DKs, because there's so much more bright effects that just look cartoony and we have to plead and shout to get a single subtle skillstyle for one skill.

I will be sad to lose the current animations because I’m so used to them but… these do look very pretty! I like the growing sigil on scorch, I feel like that’s a great way to improve accessibility on the skill for both the caster and a recipient in PvP to know when the ability is going to go off.

I find the spriggan strange because it seems to just be a lot of visual for… a burst heal? If it’s going to take up so much visual real estate, I figured it was going to do more than briefly appear and affect one person. I could see it more if it’s an AoE effect because the recipient should be aware of AoEs but they don’t really need to witness themselves getting burst healed, they see their health bar.

I will miss the colored netch beams, it was cool seeing what morph people use, fun to run around with it chasing me, and I loved the colors… but I’m glad we still get netch!!! I love netch, it’s so cute.

And while you’re at it, get rid of the Gate — let’s be honest, nobody uses it anyway.

One more thing, this is perhaps the thing that concerns me the most about the rework, even more than my character identity as a cryomage. I know there are people who claim no one uses frozen gate. I assure you, people do. The tank morph has been meta in arenas to pull enemies once they step out of the portal, which is a cool interaction but not so overpowered that someone using a regular chain is disadvantaged. The “teleport to player” is used in social contexts in overland to get people to fun locations (ex. top of wayshrines). PLEASE don’t get rid of it! The pull is buggy and doesn’t always pull, so it certainly could be improved, but the conceptual functionality of both morphs are lovely. If you feel the need to change the skill into a damaging one like some people have desired, pleaaassseeee make the “teleport to player” portal a psijic or mages guild skill.
