Rather than arguing about hypotheticals, the video shows exactly how much area Streak covers and why the current size makes the CC so difficult to avoid.
For comparison, Nightblade Fear has a 6-meter radius, giving it a 12-meter diameter and an area of approximately 113 m².
Streak, on the other hand, covers approximately 12 meters in width and 22 meters in length, giving it a total area of 264 m².
This means Nightblade Fear's 6-meter radius provides a useful reference for Streak's 12-meter width, while Streak extends that same width across approximately 22 meters of length.
As a result, Streak's 12 × 22 meter area is approximately 2.33× larger than Nightblade Fear's 6-meter-radius circle.
In other words: Streak covers significantly more area than Nightblade Fear, making it a substantially stronger and more impactful ability in terms of its effective range.
If you don't trust my math watch the video.https://youtu.be/2aA3h6H1Qn4
Explanation in the video:
Streak's range extends approximately 1–2 meters behind the character.
Hurricane has a 5-meter radius and is out of range, while Fear/Whirling Blades have a 6-meter radius and are in range. Since a 6-meter radius extends 6 meters from the center in every direction, this demonstrates that Streak has an effective width of approximately 12 meters (6m × 2).
The same comparison shows that Streak's frontal range extends roughly 6 meters beyond its 15-meter travel distance, giving it an effective frontal range of approximately 21 meters.
Combined with the additional 1–2 meters behind the character, the actual stun area is approximately 12 × 22-23 meters.
@ZOS_Kevin can you have the devs check this? It looks like the skill might be bugged because its CCing much further than the actual area of the skill.

why should my sorcs streak be the same as my nightblades fear when they two diffent classes and two totally different skill ? you could also have both and thats what subclassing is for, also it is not just a pvp skill however i have never seen a sorcerer using streak too often in pve once in a blue moon while the nightblade skill is frequently used in pve, if pvpers imply cant live with what the other class has then subclass it will feel great to have the best of three worlds at your disposal
CannedChicken wrote: »This still doesn’t really make sense because it also stuns people in front of Streak, and its affected area is 133% larger than Fear's. Describing it as “stunning pursuers in its wake” doesn’t accurately reflect how the ability actually works—it makes it sound like the stun is exclusively behind you.
More importantly, no stun should be this effective. It’s outperforming the range of every other ability by over 100%, while simultaneously being instant, unblockable, undodgeable, and uncapped by target count. That combination gives it essentially every advantage a stun can have, with little to no counterplay.
If the goal is for this to function as an escape tool, it should have meaningful limitations—whether that’s reduced range, a target cap, a dodge/block window, a cast time, or some combination of those. Simply describing it as an escape ability doesn’t address the fact that its actual mechanics make it dramatically stronger than the other CCs.
A strong ability can absolutely be a cool, but it needs a corresponding weakness or tradeoff. Otherwise, this quickly becomes power creep: the ability doesn't just play differently, it performs the same function substantially better and reduces the value of the other options.
The question isn't “Why can't this ability be stronger?” It's “What does the player give up for getting all of these advantages?” If the answer is essentially nothing, then it's a balance issue rather than merely a unique design choice.

I hadn't considered how strong streak is tbh. Unblockable and undodgeable in a semi-large rectangle does make it unique. Generally other similar ccs like nb fear and fighter's guild fear require you to be in melee range. Streak not having a target cap is probably the most unreasonable thing about it.

It's not a rectangle, it's a cone; you need to aim extremely precise if you're using it at long range. Of course, nobody actually knows that because it's not mentioned in the tooltip and people who make threads like this are usually not the people to actually test things before complaining about it. I have good news for everyone though, CC has counterplay: you can actually break CC in this game; maybe don't skip the tutorial next time.

Anyway, Streak is not going anywhere. It has never been and will never be an issue, as spending time in a real fight speaks everything there needs to know about the ability. I hope ZOS treads through this thread carefully and pick the right information, test it thoroughly in various scenarios, and take into consideration of the class' entire toolkit, advantages, weaknesses, and thematic importance before making any balance changes.

I suspect many people in this thread will still defend the cc on this skill. No objective observer could ever conclude that streak is a skill shot, but people will tie themselves into knots to argue that the skill justifies such a large unblockable and undodgeable stun because it is difficult to land on opponents.

an instant AoE CC should be unblockable, undodgeable, have no target cap, deal damage, and be attached to one of the strongest mobility abilities in the game

At this point, watching people defend Streak is basically watching the five stages of grief in real time:
Denial — “Just side-strafe it. It's incredibly easy to dodge.”
Anger — “Skill issue. If you're getting hit by Streak, you're just bad at PvP.”
Bargaining — “Bombard is actually stronger.” / “Wings is basically the same mobility.” / “Just increase the cost.” / “Okay, maybe Streak is strong, but so is [insert completely unrelated skill].”
Depression — “Anyways, this will be my last comment. Whether ZOS nerfs it or not, I don’t really care anymore lol.”
Acceptance — “It’s an overcompensation for bad netcode.”
We've gone from “Streak is easy to counter” to literally arguing that it's intentionally overtuned to compensate for the game's netcode.
We're almost there, boys.
CannedChicken wrote: »Streak is arguably the strongest CC in the game right now, and it's not particularly close.
The problem is that Streak combines an extremely strong mobility tool with an AoE, unblockable, undodgeable stun. It also has an enormous effective range and, unlike most AoE CCs, has no target cap.
ZOS has made several changes to single-target CCs specifically to give players more counterplay. Streak largely ignores that philosophy. If you're caught by it, you can't block it or dodge it. Your only real counterplay is to get stunned and break free. If someone wants to stun you with it, there isn't anything you can do about it.
This becomes especially problematic with ball groups. Sorcs can streak through a pugs and CC huge numbers of players simultaneously. The fact that Streak's CC has no target cap makes coordinated groups disproportionately effective with it.
I don't think Streak needs to lose its identity as a mobility ability. It just needs reasonable counterplay.
Some possible solutions:
Make the CC blockable but keep it undodgeable. It's direct AoE damage, so being blockable would be consistent with other abilities.
Add a target cap. Streak has had a target cap historically.
Tie the target cap to the cost increase. For example, the first Streak hits 1 target, the second hits 2, the third hits 3, etc.
Reduce the width of the CC or make the stun only affect players around the starting location rather than everyone along the entire path.
There are plenty of ways to fix the problem without gutting Sorcerer's mobility.
Right now, though, Streak is uniquely combining top-tier mobility with a massive AoE CC that cannot be blocked or dodged. Other CCs have been given counterplay. Streak should get the same treatment.

People wanting Streak nerfed are no different lol.
The only video evidence you guys have is the large hitbox, and that itself isn't even meaningful evidence.
Streak is an initiator and like all initiators it is only as good as the offensive follow up. Sorc's offense is not that hard to deal with, so Streak at best is annoying but not threatening lol.
OP keeps trying to push the narrative but it is not getting nerfed lol.
