Maarselok was way too busted capable of doing 20k damage come on. You’re not playing the game the set is at this stage.

Play how you want (fun) is becoming less and less.
I have a dot arc that will be gutted in the damage department.i feel like arc dmg 1vX along with necro are the least played classes. And this nerf will only make it worse.

No worries, guess I’ll just get back on; play like everyone else and get back on my Sorc WW and DK molten.
The nerfs to WW and DK won’t do anything btw regarding PvP.
You can just run wretched to offset inhale nerf, and run molten combo set up instead of lash morph.
WW Sorc with class mastery laughs at this nerf, shrugs it off. Won’t be able to spam heal as much but LOS and spam other skills to get back magicka/stamina, Ez peazy.

If maars dmg is nerfed 10% fair..if it’s only applicable in PvE…the combat team would be very out of touch for doing so.

I can only imagine the whispers when I switch from Maars to Jeralls, especially if I decide to Zerg it up with Jeralls in cyro; 8 team bg team stack. You know what, think I’ll just go switch right now in nerf preparation.

Ultimately these changes are very out of touch and DOT builds should be viable because they add nice diversities to the elements of PvP. Most classes can be viable on a DOT spec set up..including arc, necro, templar dps builds.

If Anything…perma block and troll healer Templar “clapper” builds need to be looked at in PvP, more so cyro.
Troll builds are a huge problem in cyro, CP red and blue trees for perma blockers make it worse.
Siege damage killing troll builds could be a thing. Temporarily reducing heals from ulti to 0% and reducing block mitigation to 0% for 3 seconds or so.

You don't have to offset the changes to hof. It does next to nothing to change the brokenness of the skill. You certainly don't need a whole set for it.

What about other class’s broken/unlimited sustain such as necro and sorc which haven’t even been reworked yet?

You’re not helping to improve the game, if the average simpleton here could understand that the best thing for the game is for ZOS to lock in and speed up the class reworks - but no they keep crying about the wrong stuff which does nothing else than delay the class reworks further. Obviously not capable of looking at the bigger picture and at what really matters.

Another way to fix the set is to make it proc on actual heavy attacks, like it says in the description, and not medium attacks. That way there's a visible telegraph and opportunity cost to do free burst damage. Although it's hard to see in this game so maybe not.

They are either a complete troll or just a really really bad dk player. Thats, 100% apparent

Anything above a light attack is considered a ‘heavy attack’ by the game. What you’re likely referring to is a ‘fully charged heavy attack’ which they typically use that terminology for.

I don't lean one way or another, but Maarselok is really the king of consistency. Doesn't care about crit res and happily outscales all other monster helmets, especially when a target is under fire from multiple players. Proc condition is trivial, no RNG involved, with hard cooldown that can be tracked via add-on (people who do this are lame btw). And lastly, the damage window is so short, that it doubles as fake burst.

I have rarely found myself ever even considering other helmets for damage in PvP. It can even be stronger than many 5-piece proc sets when enough debuffs can be sourced.

Does that say something about the trashiness of some other helmets? Probably.
Is it fair to adjust Maarselok? Probably.

Exactly, thing is broken and the casual sorcs who will see their cheese reduced next patch are crying it’s fine and it didn’t deserve a nerf.

What's lt i wonder. Not saying its not deserved, altho to be fair this is, or well was, one of the few tools that could help effectively combat the permablock meta. Really wish this change was accompanied with some dot buffs, or some nerfs to permablocking in PVP.

Totally uncalled for if it's intentional. Maarselok is a powerful set, but it's balanced and fun to use. If anything this should be held as a standard for strong monster sets. New monster sets have been underwhelming. Nerfing Maarselok isn't going to mean people will suddenly start wanting to use "The Ruckus", just continues the trend of sledgehammering viable and fun playstyles out of the game without providing a decent alternative.

    It's baffling honestly.

I took a 5.9k tick from it in a BG the other day, with 35k physical resistance, major prot, etc. I don't know if the set is bugged or if there is some weird interaction that causes these super high ticks, but it definitely should not be doing that much damage.

Wonder what the adjustment actually is, weird that the tooltip is incomplete and there is no mention of it in the notes.

Not sure why buy it seems to behave badly with other

I wouldn't worry about sorc next patch, static reverb is looking juicy with the right setup. Zos giveth, zos taketh away.

No matter what you think of zos sometimes just imagine that someone with this thought process could be in charge me making decisions about the the game.

Not saying some wouldn't want that but I don't think it serves the longevity well.

W zos reigning in these meta dot builds. I am so tired of sorcs and dks and wws streaking and running around with this garbage and thinking they are good. Such a carry set that will get people whining because another crutch is being taken away, deservedly so

I disagree that we shouldn't expect a company be responsive to their customers and their complaints about the product they sell. Sure people could be nicer, but this is a business not a social gathering. I still wish Zos all the best and that everyone individually doesn't let the negative feedback get to them, which is easier said than done, but I also don't think we should just shut up and say thank you like good little boys and girls either
