Are you sharing the bash-cc bug with the combat team too? I suspect multiple issues are conflated. The steps to reproduce are listed here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/663596/cc-break-and-bash-big-issue

I can confirm that I've been perma CC'd by mender guards in the past and had an unbreakable bubble.

Yes, I've shared that alongside the ones mentioned in this thread. We have a bug in for a core issue that we believe is resulting on all of them (issues not being able to CC break as expected after being CCed.)

Hi @gammelscroll - we're happy to investigate if there is a potential bug with this ability. (We have not gotten reports of any for this ability on the PTS, thus far.) We chatted with the combat team about this, and there are a couple things we want to mention.

Fossilize is indeed a powerful CC ability, and we do see the feedback about room for improvement with the telegraph. One thing we sometimes see when reading feedback about this ability is that players will try to use CC break on the snare portion - and you cannot CC break a snare - then get hit by the stun and believe CC break is not working as it should. This behavior where the snare portion is not something a target can CC break out of is working as intended, and not a bug.

Are you running into something different? If you are, a video of the issue is most helpful, especially if you're able to show it in an insolated, clear environment

yes, there is a bug and everybody who plays PvP knows about it - sometimes you can't break free of the stun at all. Nothing works. This is not me being rooted (where I can do stuff with my character just in place), this is me breaking free and game ignoring it making me just a marble statue for DK to power lash (power lash a spammable hits harder than ulti btw, but that's of course completely balanced right?).

Buffing DK to the point of godhood and leaving all other refreshes for next year is a spit in face of playerbase. Don't be surprised that players are leaving en masse.

You already got your dk nerf, as well as werewolf and Sorc, but of course all that is never enough is it, it never ends
Zos then: Vengeance is just a test bro

Zos now: Do you want Vengeance permanent or permanent...

When are you going to fix that buggy fossilize? That you cant CC break or nothing.
Iam so tired of DKs. Not only are they most OP class, but they also have broken CC you cant even break free

Doesn't the skill description for fossilize say it's not dodgeable? You can use slippery in your CP and other ways to avoid fossilize, but it's supposed to be harder to avoid.

For the record, I think the game is probably fine regardless but to say 'no one is leaving' or that you can somehow ascertain that is a stretch.

Please don't try and equate them actually correcting a bug with CCs such as fossilize (in other words, affecting DK) to people 'staying' OR 'leaving' without substantive proof.

I can't speak for everyone but me and my friends left. I rejoined after years hiatus. Prior, I think last I played was Arcanist release. Got it to 20, got bored and quit. I've been a Werewolf player since the first infected NPCs spawned and we only had 2 buttons. I came back this time because of the rework. Absolutely loved it. I then got my old Werewolf guildie to rejoin and a few others followed. We were going to run around as a pack. One of my friends, she never cared for ESO, did enjoy Werewolf and even bought a big house expecting to stay awhile. However, I uninstalled the game the moment the PTS changes made it live and they followed suit.

Werewolf is the most underutilized concept in gaming. It's a very unique offering in ESO and they continue to neuter it every chance it gets a little hope despite it being a meme far more than not in all of ESO's lifetime. I lost the energy to complain about ESO looooong ago. Now I have a "the devs get it or they don't" attitude. I thought maybe the team was fresh and finally understood but nah same old same old.

Much respect to you though for keeping up the good fight on these forums.

Rofl bro is mad they fixed the godmode issue of WW in PvP and that he can no longer run around with his other WW mates while being unkillable. If you enjoy the current live version of WW then youre not being honest with yourself at how dumb and overpowered it is. Nothing comes remotely near it. So if you and your handful of entitled friends that want to run around as if they are having Godmode in PvP quit cos of this, so be it. Far more people have quit cos of the state of Sorc WW right now and they will return once U51 is live.

The problem with ESO over the years (besides the devs ignoring most feedback) is this community has long since been in denial about how "skillful" this game is. Sorry to bust your bubble, but the skill check in ESO is on the lower end within the genre. You spam your buttons and hope the enemy makes a multitude of mistakes or their build isn't optimized or else you stalemate. The TTK is anywhere between 10 seconds to infinity. It's the largest complaint by any new player watching ESO PvP on stream and the running joke to all the vet PvPers that refuse to return to play it. This game hasn't been in its prime and skillful since the introduction of CP and proc sets. Every change since has placed ESO further into the dirt. Try your higher than thou L33T bro nonsense somewhere else..

Indeed. Game is no skills any.more. its just meta build and class that makes you win. Play DK and WW and win.

One guy on stream complained that he would quit game if ww nerf went live. Cause with how OP ww was, he was finally good in PvP, and could compete.

That tells you little about how no skilled this game is.
Good part is ; good players will find away to still play ww, and bad players dont.

I'll make this my last reply then you guys can have at it. This is my attempt at making my stance clear.

The problem with the quoted part is, good players have always found a way to make it "work" but it never stopped it from being a meme spec. It has always been stuffing a square peg in a round hole. The following screenshots are of me cleaning up a1v3 I clipped 11 years ago (and most of the vid is me turning wolf). At no point, 11 years ago, were people talking about how great or good WW was compared to OG Dawnbreaker spam or OG NB's ult. (Not posting the clip. Don't care to promote a dead YT channel). And yea, old garbage PC and recording software at the time... so not the cleanest screenshots.

Regardless, that's why this forum's age old "good player vs bad player" mentality hurts the game just as much as the devs ignoring feedback. A rare few forum goers are capable of stepping back and objectively looking at the balance of the game. The ONLY thing the small community of diehard Werewolf players want (not FOTM rerollers) is to be balanced as it fits with the rest of the game. Don't like all that WW sustain? Then nerf sustain across board and force everyone to manage stats again. But don't claim we're a burst class and that's why we need nerfs.. because even that logic doesn't track when you look at DK and Sorc.

Werewolf isn't Vampire where you can slap it onto nearly any build just for the luls. It's a dedicated playstyle you have to commit all resources into. It's practically its own class. However, unlike the other classes it's far more shackled and hindered by the Dev's good grace. However many sets/skills/gameplay features other classes can try to make a bad patch work, we have comically less choice. It's ridiculous and only diehard Templar players come close to understanding the frustration.

If you don't actually play werewolf and care to bother to learn why it's frustrating to make work, that's cool. You don't have to. My primary gripe is that the devs clearly don't play it and they don't bother to listen to those that do and are offering objective feedback. At best, werewolf needed a scalpel adjustment that took one thing and gave something else. Instead, ZOS decided to go the blunt force trauma method as usual because of one build. Every oppressive aspect of the WW rework wasn't even because of werewolf on its own.

ROFL a noob streamer cried he will quit if the WW gets adjusted - this is exactly the type of people that are complaining about the WWs now. They’re in denial with reality and being dishonest with themselves. The thing currently on the LIVE is so broken, to the point it plays the game for you.

ESO is a casual game, the skill ceiling is super low, if you can’t do well and compete in it then it’s a YOU problem. Put in the time and work and practice.

WW isn’t a class though. It should not be stronger than pure classes for any reason. They should have it so it’s abilities were available in the human form and make the WW form have a specific duration like vampire one does. Then you would have had variety.
It’s weakness to poison is a joke too - lore wise it makes no sense, should have been fire and then there’s hardly anything that does proper poison damage now with the exception of bow play style.
Fighters guild should be hitting WWs and Vampires for more damage too, 10% is nothing. Fighters guild is meant to hunt and kill these beasts and they wouldn’t do this with a measly 10% damage increase;)
So you see even Lore wise, WWs and Vamps weren’t meant to be stronger

Truth is that people don't really ever leave the game for the most part, they just stop playing for a while.

People will say oh I'm leaving the game but they don't delete characters or anything so they can always come back.

In reality people just take breaks and play when and if the game gets good again

~reminder that this is just a spin/response from Gupitoos’ original comment above~

Not sure how true that really is. When people have had enough, they don’t always come back and ‘give it another chance’:

    (sorted post Covid-ish)

    ktb93f71snle.jpeg

Testimony: (yes it’s on wolf). I was never more detached from this game than I was right before the wolf rework. Even then, I figured this would be the inevitable outcome and yet a friend coaxed me back in.

They’ve since lost interest for obvious reasons. I’m over the same old song and dance.

I’m giving it maybe three months or four months admiring from a haphazard ‘distance’ (playing occasionally with friends and keeping an eye on notes) for improvements and if my perspective doesn’t at all align with their new ‘vision’- then so be it.

If anyone must know, my NB probably has the worst masteries in the game, my stam sorc is basically forced to run a certain onslaught build to be effective even after this PTS patch releases to live (or some version of a ‘dot build’ I don’t care for and don’t identify with) ig, my ‘stam den’… yeah, stamplar… the survivability is decent when built correctly but the damage- lol

(I do small scale, “x-ing”, OW, IC, and BGs; 4-man content such as tri-fectas and trials occasionally with PvE guilds)

not much has really improved and with the current state of affairs and 180 on capability- I no longer really have a reason to stick around. If all I can find in a game is dread whatever the source/sources may be, then it’s time to move on.

Edit: but hey at least they’re finally checking out the ‘stuck in CC’ bug on a positive note

Check your friends list. It's an easy metric anyone has. Most people leave and do not come back. If they come back after 5 years, is that a good thing? Most of my friends haven't logged in since the DK "rework" and they mostly played PvE.

The reason? It wasn't just combat changes that put them off, but they didn't find the "seasonal" content appealing. All of them prepaid for ESO+ and said that they won't be buying it again and aren't even using what they've paid for.

When that is the case that some players are doing that, and we don't need to know how many that are, it's a really bad sign for this game's population and the type of decline that cannot be sustained by ZOS at this moment in time.

They're not just losing customers, they're losing paying ones that won't be returning. And that is a bigger threat than regular player loss statistics no matter how good or bad the overall numbers look.

And it does make me think about the longevity of the game and what methods ZOS might have to start employing to protect their bottom line. But we cannot speak too much about things like that, wouldn't want to be accused of conspiracy. Even though the problem is at the point that I am sure everyone knows at least one person that has permanently quit and was a subscriber. If not, they must have a very small friends / guild list.

What do you all talk about? You all do the same discussions in every thread. Just leave it where it is at. This is a thread about fossilize and CCs. And it is not even a discussion about these abilities itself. We are discovering if there is a bug ongoing about CCs and especially Fossilize.

This bug has been acknowledged and a bug fix is presumably now a WIP (so the main and primary goal of this thread has indeed been accomplished):

Are you sharing the bash-cc bug with the combat team too? I suspect multiple issues are conflated. The steps to reproduce are listed here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/663596/cc-break-and-bash-big-issue

I can confirm that I've been perma CC'd by mender guards in the past and had an unbreakable bubble.

Yes, I've shared that alongside the ones mentioned in this thread. We have a bug in for a core issue that we believe is resulting on all of them (issues not being able to CC break as expected after being CCed.)

And that particular conversation started with someone who does similar things to many threads:

No one’s leaving the game tho, if anything there’s lots of new players, nice try tho. They just need to speed up the class reworks.

    More context (screenshot snippets):

Yes, I understand a reply like this is in ‘bad taste’ but I really do believe context matters.
