why do you even care who came first in trial ? alsong as you passed it and passed it in time for what you went there for in the first place ? why even compete with each other can you not all find roles you like and classes you like best and play them getting more comfort in knowledge that you did it your way and not a scripted way ? then truly become the forums new sinatra :)

It's part of why the game's balance will never improve. Even if PvP was deleted, the changes they make to the game's classes for PvE are also problematic on their own and favor one place (trials) over the majority of content in the game. And it always has detrimental effects that trickle down.

And we'll never get the answer where the line gets drawn between the power of builds and their performance, it's only known when something gets nerfed into the ground.

If that's the case, I don't think that the game should be balanced around trials at all and rather see usability and general improvements instead. When a skill or method gets nerfed, then there should be compensation or the power loss distributed elsewhere, but that doesn't happen here in this game for whatever reason.

Even though the slot system in the game already can be used to balance power in it, it's not utilized by the developers to do that at all and instead numbers are micromanaged and techniques cut or changed dramatically in a negative way.

This is why the game will keep having nerfs and remain unbalanced. The devs won't use their own system and rules to balance the game in a way that makes sense and instead take hyperbolic approaches that result in a negative experience.

And that experience is championed by some, until it comes for what they enjoy. Then the cycle continues.

The PTS is always a show because those that have been around know what the end result will be from the start.

Arcanist IMO was beautifully balanced when released then came the chopping block as it is with all new classes. It had unique skills and a great toolkit. Yes it did need a little trimming but not as much as what came.

    You have to be joking.

Arcanist survivability was nuts prior to the (over-)nerfs.

I do think Runeguard of Freedom and Impervious Runeward were over-nerfed, but they did need to get toned down.

lol basically everything that made arcanist good in pvp got nerfed and they recieved nothing back in return. Flail lots its execute component, they lost most of their sustain with repeated passive nerfs, the shield (that i dont even like) got nerfed to almost unusability and the good minor resolve morph was butchered and left to dead.

Btw i dont think if they were to revert literally all the nerfs even then arsanist would be good. The standards have shifted too much, their sustain from back then is just meh right now, impervious is laughable when sorcs can get a huge shield on skill use and minor resolve heal might have been annoying but you know whats better defensively, being able to heal while perma blocking as a dk. Arca survivability might have been overboard back then, its literally nothing special now and tbh arca always lacked damage even at its peak.

i am not being really saying anything said is wrong, just would like to add that i think its a good thing because arcanists should never have been driven into just a stamina role doing what has been done just makes magicka fun to play too while using the arcanist for damage
just a few half decent light sets more that are not class tied and were good to go :)

Did you play arcanist when it was good? Most of your skills were magicka already, like 7/10. Basically all of your defensive buttons were magicka.
Lots of different ways you could build arca back then, mainly because most of your damage came from sets since beam sucks for pvp but none of them felt like a full stamina build. That being said used to be you could easily get over 2k sustain on arca without any sustain sets so a build being magicka or stamina wasnt really an issue, if you wanted it, you had enough sustain either way.

to be honest i am not an endgame player so if i wanted sustain i just wore the peace and serenty set and kept my stats in majicka
ha thinking about it that about every random group i joined in finder or daily

jusr decides to look at it again i know sets are bit silly now, but peace and serenity still ok for arcanist still between 120k - 125k dps on a trial target dummy on the simplest rotation possible with no LA weaving (peace with null) not alot these days but enough

    taken just now

peace and serenity on body ( paired with null arcana on weapon + jewel)
    just a fiddling around

hk7f104yyoiw.png wondering how deadly is holding up
looks like still a good 120k peace/deadly for casual play, both without banners too using inferno staff
