Congrats, y'all got your Sorc nerfs. Hope ur happy

They’re so minor lol I would barely call them a nerf but besides that these forums are never happy.

    25% off CoE :D

2,000 “mag recov” (+off resource) to 1,500 “mag recov” (+off resource)

From 5 Wretched Vitalities in a single passive to ~4 Wretched Vitalities in singular passive.

    WOW! What a nerf!!

Oh, and they all still proc off Core Combat too I believe :D

Well, I did try to put forward actual fixes for CoE, but the people voted and all we got instead was generic blanket nerfs that will do nothing to address the problem builds and only force more sorcs into those same builds since other builds got hit harder. 🙃

But that doesn't matter I guess, Sorc got "nerfed" and that's all the people care about.

Lordy, just because some op pvp players are very good, does it have to mean that those of us who are distinctly average must suffer?!

(And no, I will not ‘git gud’ as I have a life outside gaming. I do this to relax & enjoy myself & care not a jot about being the best. That said, stopping shield stacking in pvp groups would be mightily appreciated.)

Yeah, the problem is- like you said… this doesn’t solve the issue of max mag builds which are going to be even more plentiful and stay just as problematic.

Bro, if you think that Negate is the problem with zergs and organized ball groups, you’re clinically delusional. Negate is still the best way of stopping those groups. Sorc has some problems, but no one is going to agree with you when you say Negate is one of them.

There's no getting through to someone that honestly thinks the amount of shielding being stacked on the game by groups is fair and balanced and then says anyone that disagrees doesn't know the game. He wants it gone because people coordinate negate to get rid of his ball group. You know -- exactly what the logic is for why so many crutches groups have haven't been addressed yet.

Just check it out @LoganSpencer1 other two threads:

Negate actually needs to be MORE present in the game, even a siege should exist IMO. An oblivion damage siege that does HP% damage should also be present or something done to balance HP stacking. <-- two things most ball groups would never ever want to see.

And no, I'm not saying that because I just fire siege.

Sometimes solo, sometimes in a group. Sometimes actively fighting ball groups, sometimes just chilling on a wall hitting them with siege.

But I know that Negate is one of the few useful skills for disrupting ball groups. If anything, I’d make it stronger & affect stam too.

Now that we have subclassing, anyone can use negate. They don’t have to be a pure class sorc. Ball groups are feeling it more now I guess but let’s be honest. If sorcs were so powerful, why don’t you see a ball group of sorcs? Why are they always DKs and WW with a bunch of healers? The stacked shields and heals make them impervious to multiple lancer fire and other siege, not to mention player skills. There has to be something to counter them. PvP should be a rock, paper, scissors sort of scenario.

please stop confusing the devs thinking we all love pvp atlease we need more seperation from pve rather than trying to adjust roles so they fit in both places, i read someones post earlier more or less saying the same thing. banish pvpers to hades, maybe make sets suable for pvp only that are actually good instead of fiddling with all pvers charaters every other week ? i am not griping i just cope with changes but why would i want to be good in pvp and pve too i have no enemies in eso theres nobody like in other games faction locked...its silly light vs dark good vs evil ? none of it

Why do PvEers complain on every possible PvP thread about literally any change PvPers want to see in PvP? Its like yes, nobody wants PvE to be effected by the changes we are talking about. Everyone wants pvp and pve to be separate sandboxes. But even then, unless you literally put asterisks up after every sentence of every PvP thread some PvEer will come and make it about them. Honestly just strikes me as narcissistic.

I would be perfectly happy if all these changes were pvp only and they left everything the same in PvE

@hoangdz If you think sorc shouldn't be nerfed then hop on a a nb, a Arc, , a warden, or a plar and duel some good sorcs then. I think you probably 1vx Pveers during mym with these takes and examples. So much copium

You'd probably show up with a plar tank lol

I have dueled some of the best players of each class before subclassing, DK rework, and the recent class mastery introduction. Bar Necro and Arc because they were genuinely mediocre, NB, Warden, DK, and Templar, were all better at dueling than stamsorc. In fact, I was the ONLY stamsorc dueling in Stormhaven on PC NA around that time because this class was simply worse than the aforementioned 4 classes. PC EU was not any different either. Magsorc faired better because of Hardened Ward buff, so I do agree that magsorc was pretty busted before the nerf in U46, which I actively advocated for on the forums.

Fast forward to U50, the class masteries elevated Sorc to 2nd place just behind DK. So, logically, why would you nerf Sorc entirely when the main culprit is the masteries? Why paint all of Sorc's toolkit as something imbalanced when the class was barely used in duels before subclassing?

We could either buff the classes whose class masteries were not properly designed, or at the very most, adjust Sorc's mastery passives. Like, if NB kept its 25% crit damage/healing and 2500 spell damage values in PvP, then it would instantly be one of the strongest pure specs in the game. Same with Templar and Warden, etc.

    Any nerfs confirmed for Sorcs?

    25% nerf to CoE
    40% nerf to blood magic
Reverb only procs off Sorcerer ability damage (and maybe monolith of storms if ZOS fixes it's bugs where it's not working)
Exploiter passive no longer gives crit chance (this is a nerf to surge healing and has been there since week 1)
Maarselok got a stealth nerf (only know it has something to do with reduction against players since no solid details posted yet)
Ele sus got a significant cost added

The last 2, while not Sorcerer nerfs directly, they were key parts of the problematic "meta" DoT Sorc build, so do still count as Sorc nerfs since they do nerf Sorcs indirectly.

Don't worry the changes they've done do nothing to Sorc. Especially since it's a design issue rather than a numbers one. It's unfortunate, but I think next patch the game will have even less players in PvP.

I don't blame them either. Let those who enjoy the poor balance enjoy it, it sure seems like that's the opinion of the team in charge of balance.

I agree with you. I am happy to see the nerfs to the high end, I just wish they would make some changes to the lower end and not be too scared to make big changes. I know people say they get tired of the sweeping changes but I don't when its needed. We need sweeping changes tbh

They only need sweeping changes because they never listen to PTS input properly. Take the Templar Balanced Warrior passive and change that scrapped Minor Sorcery.

I predict that people that don't know about it, esp. Templar mains on live, are going to be VERY angry if that change comes out because it is a change that's not a buff and not even an equivalent exchange. It's a maybe buff, but only if...

When making changes like that that are already questionable about whether or not they are better from the start, we cannot have a condition imposed on it being better than what was there before or it's just a nerf.

It's happened this cycle and in recent ones to NB, Templar, Necro, even Arcanist. Even the masteries function that way on these three classes, which is why there's scenarios where they don't even feel impactful. And this is in the same patch where other classes are not getting these restrictions like DK and Sorc.

How they balance the game is really bad and contradictory to their own goals and even system itself. I'd like to see them balance on a few things:

    1. Balance skills in relating to bar space -- that's the overall limiting system in the game that every player must face

    2. Balance the capability of all classes , at least making sustaining an option to build for on them all and not this current system where two can do it because of overloaded skills

    3. All overloaded skills getting an adjustment and power decoupled from a single slot, or the changes to skills that were deemed overloaded should be reverted.

^ Only when they do then can we see some sembalence of balance in the game. But that's not the current team's goal. The current goal is to make things as convoluted and confusing as possible -- but that same muddy addition to the system creates a hole we can exploit to gain far more power in cases that are unexpected.

And then ZOS comes with the nerf gun. And the cycle repeats until players get annoyed because the classes are just getting nerfed without any compensation and balance keeps swinging in opposite directions like a pendulum, as the clock face ticks and their time is wasted trying to keep up with the changes (and doing garbage like grinding).

ZOS did have a member of the dev team say that he thought an endless grind was a good thing. Yeah, an endless grind for cosmetics that come out or new content is what can be considered a good thing in an MMO. Not an endless grind to fight against the system.

But it seems to ZOS' developers in charge then, and still now, they consider an endless grind against the system to be fun and engaging content.

Of course, you already know my position on that if you've seen my comments on it: I strongly disagree and think it is and will kill the game eventually. It's unfortunate there is no convincing them.
