Low Level Provisioning Materials in Veteran Content

This needs to be addressed. I gave up a craft so I could use provisioning, as I thought it would be beneficial... Every zone I have been to has given level appropriate mats. How is it that the VR zones can be so different? It has rendered this skill useless until fixed.

I also have not been able to find a grocer that provides all the items I need. Have not checked the Coldharbor one yet so maybe there is hope.

some ingredients are only aviable by vendors! like Vet5 stuff.
A decent vendor is Gulza in Coldharbour 65,56 and she got a cooking fie right near by.

Every level has been able to have vendors for that areas level of materials, do you believe that this is by design that the only way you can get vet ones is the vendor unlike all the other levels?

Hope not but if it is by design it would still be nice to be told so by the GM/Dev team.

    Hi Arwyn,
i guess it is by design intended. the recipes i', talking about are the first blue quality recipes, demanding 3 ingredents to create a Vet5 1hour buf food. so called level 4 food ingame.
I have never found ie Imperial Stock by myself as far as i know.

    My latest response

    "Greetings Adventurer!

We aware of these issues and we are currently working on new areas. You are able to break down the items that you have that are looting. We do apologize for any inconvenience and ask that you please be patient with us as we are performing an in-depth investigation into this issue.
    "

I guess they dont realise totally that im talking about provisioning mats anymore.....Also the support person has changed. Since I cant reply atm I will have to leave it a few more days....

Current patch notes for 1.1 dont list a fix, my current ticket says "under investigsation" seriously, run a v1 in the v1 zone, you will see it!!!!

    This needs to be fixed.

Honestly they should have a mix of high level and low level, because if someone decides to start dabbling in provisioning later on in the game, they will be SOL if they remove all low level ingredients.

Try enchanting, it is exactly what happens there :(. One of the 3 runes being level specific, you have to grind (or buy) that one if you fall behind :(

    My suggestions:

Option A: Smart loot for veteran zones:

Have original level zones 1-50 always drop the crafting items and receipies matching the zone level.

Have veteran level zones include smart loot that scales to the skill level of the player.

If a player did not level up enchanting or provisioning he should be able to do that while questing in veteran zones. Have a player go back to the original zones just to grind runes or provisioning items is inconveniant.

    -
Option B: level 50 and v5 loot for veteran zones.

Have the veteran I to IV zones drop level 50 food materials or a mix of level 50 and veteran V food materials.

I really do not see any point at all of wasting veteran players time sorting out level 1-10 food items from their inventory in veteran level zones.

The loot that drops in veteran zones should have a use and not just be junk!

    Update / Edit:

    While I am at it:

It would be helpful if food items like onions or salt that are used in blue receipies would be marked in a special way. Maybe make those also blue?

That way players have an easier way figuring out if the loot they just dropped is level specific or can also be used on higher level food items.

As far as I observed items like onions and salt are used in blue level receipies of different skill level.

    Negative, Nancy!

The only items in two zones of Vet Content that have dropped Provisioning items useful to Vets are Produce containers, because their loot is global in the same way that Dwarven Oil is global to Blacksmiths.

There is no correct grease, flour, juice, OR MEAT-- nor Malt, Mash, or Grape-- OR BERRIES, etc.

All provisioning containers in the Vet Zones are behaving as if the Vet Flag is just missing. Grocers don't have everything.

I've been trying to gather data, and from what I can tell, the VR flag is just missing for Provi loot containers in VR zones! I am getting the same stuff as a VR2 Dominion player in Deshaan as a level 15 Pact member would.

I'd hoped beyond hope that once I got out of Stonefalls this bug would desist, but no. Same issue in Deshaan, so one must assume that the issues persists throughout. Guess I won't know for sure until I get to the Covenant VR areas, but I certainly have my suspicions.

10 days later and now I have been told that they were going to forward it to their dev department but I now need to file a bug report or they wont do anything.

Still no further forward. Support needs to get a move on with getting better fast.

Ive got tons of those ingredients but thats due to hoarding prov items that matched my 50 and v5 recipes as I leveled my main(50 prov/alch is a level 28 alt).

Ive even got a stack of oats forming ><

Could support actually help us out here or am I expecting too much?

Bug report filed - Ignored so far
Case raised - 10 days to tell me to raise a bug report.....seriously?

I did my part, HOW ABOUT SOME SUPPORT FROM THE SUPPORT DEPARTMENT!!!

Ive been patient enough now, ive had enough, someone needs to take ownership of this issue and so far support seem incapable of doing it.

I suspect I did something wrong in a past life. My latest comment from support

"There was an issue in PTS prior to launch where this would occur though it actually de-leveled the entire zone, so you'd run around one-shotting everything. The fix was to wayshrine back to any area in your original faction, and then wayshrine back to the veteran zone. That should reset everything relatively instantly and allow you to start collecting Veteran materials.

Please note that despite being in a veteran area, the provisioning materials are going to be the same. Provisioning does not have veteran materials at this time. You'll also notice looted potions/foods are lower level as well, as veteran equivalents don't exist.

Let me know if zoning out and back in helps. If not, I'll be happy to continue looking into this for you! "

I think they dont read tickets and also do not know the game they play. My reply to them.

"The mobs are the correct levels. Wayshrining doesnt help, this is a multi zone problem when in Veteran zones. I have said previously that drops from mobs are 100% fine. The problem is the crates, sacks and barrels

Drinks are as you say low level. This is clearly a bug why wouldnt they be level 50 which does exist, why are they level 1?, while vet level potions do exist they drop from mobs not from barrels etc. The Vet level crafting material for potions is dropping from the crates correctly.

Veteran Materials do exist since you can buy them from a vendor and loot some in coldharbour...... so why would vet zones drop the original level of prov materials and not these ones that drop in coldharbour.

I suspect your investigation needs a little more work. If I am not being clear or the other information in this ticket is unclear please let me know. I have raised this as a bug, what has the dev team said?"

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom Some help is needed here. This has been going on with Support for two weeks now and we're still no further forward with even getting them to explain the issue. Is there anything you can do or should we just quit crying and accept that provisioning is dead in veteran zones (and looting crates etc)?

    Support reply

"My mistake, it seems a new loot table was added since pre-release for Veteran provisioning. I apologize that my information wasn't up to date!

I checked into this and it's currently logged as a bug for investigation. I don't have any updates on the issue at the moment, but we'll be sure to update players via our patch notes when more information is available.

Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention, and I apologize that more information is not available. If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know and I'll be happy to look into it."

I have requested they keep the ticket open. How hard is it for support to talk to the devs and say "hey is this wrong or not"?

    /cry

    AT LAST!!!

"I apologize for my misunderstanding on the first response, provisioning has gone through quite a few changes. I also apologize if I have not been clear to this point.

This is currently logged and recognized in our system as a bug. It is being investigated by our developers as to why it is not working as intended. It has not been closed and is not considered working by design.

I don't have an ETA on when this issue will be resolved, but our developers are currently investigating it for a fix. When it is resolved, we will add it to the patch notes, which I linked earlier on.

I definitely understand that this matter is important to you. I apologize for my personal misunderstanding on the matter, we've seen a TON of changes to crafting and veteran content over the beta period, and this particular issue had not been resolved to these points as those recipes and materials are a relatively recent addition."

It's the same with Enchanting. You extract a rune in a VR zone and end up getting level 40 runes.

That doesn't happen with Blacksmithing nodes, it shouldn't happen here either. The amount of basic and glaring issues that made it past beta are beyond me.

I want to congratulate Arwyn for his determination in pursuing this matter. This clearly isn't just his concern and he speaks for thousands of players.

It is sad that support team fails to replay to community's concerns for so long periods of time. We spent our money on their product that left the factory clearly unfinished, with lots of bugs that should've been addressed in beta. I understand they are working hard to fixing those bugs but really, that shouldn't have been the case if they delivered the finished product on launch day.

We are being patient because the game has potential but the least they can do is to reassure us by responding to our concerns in real time, not after weeks, so we don't lose our patience. Losing our patience means canceling our subscriptions and no more money to pay your wages, dear support team. So pay attention, please!

    Thanks!

I wouldn't have put the effort in if I didn't care about the game. I think this can be the most amazing game out there, I just hope the devs an support team get it into gear fast.

In the old days companies would be given time to get things right, however with so many MMO's out there people have the choice to move on very quickly. I find the first month is usually that time to shine.

Personally I have subbed for 3 more months. That is how long I am willing to give it to get better. So long as there is marked improvement I will continue to subscribe.

I am very surprised it requires so much looking into really. Isn't it just a loot table that needs to be mapped to/fixed?

Anyway, thanks Arwyn for your persistence.

Let's hope they fix it quickly. It is a most annoying bug that makes 1 profession useless.

I am glad I had found this thread, or one similar before I hit Vet, I saved up some good stuff for cooking with. Yep the quest for food stuff is tricky. Its kind of a pain to have to go 'shopping' back in the other zones to find the quality items to at least make the lvl 50 and such. I have even taken the time to write down the items I am most after for use for the good recipes.
