Why hasn't DK been nerfed yet?

@BardokRedSnow So you don't think everyone and their mother playing DK and people with dozens of hours on the class performing as well as those with thousands cheapens the experience of playing DK? You take satisfaction in playing a game mode ruining DK?

I'm very happy to see the Devs acknowledge our desire for a fun and competitive PvP.

Performing as well as those with thousands of hours I disagree is true but I also believe that 80 percent of this game is build knowledge and/or group composition depending on if you're solo etc, and not "skill". Some things require more skill some less, wont get into that here everyone has an opinion on that like solo/1vX vs ballgrouping and everything inbetween. But ultimately the game requires good build knowledge first and foremost. Could argue that in it of itself is skilled but you get my point, before dk refresh most people put on meta builds and play almost identically already, after this nerf it'll be the same. The ones that stand out will be very few and far between. But the egos will be very big always lol.

But no me personally I find it fun to see people enthusiastic about playing my favorite class, from my experience people who like and enjoy dk are some of the most chill people.

It's an interesting juxtaposition, being a One Class Player / Class Enthusiast AND having no regard for any game integrity regarding theme, mechanics, a balanced spread of different specs.

The True PvPers I get: disregard of any integrity or sportsmanship, KD Ratio and AP per Hour above all else, who cares if everyone is playing a clown class with clown skills, for these players there is no limit to how far they will debase the fantasy / roleplaying aspects in the pursuit of more Ks.

But you will never find a 1 Class Player among these types.

So your position I don't understand. Personally I want "my class" to be the worst so I can feel the most satisfaction in success.

These comments about bandwagon DKs etc came up almost immediately from the refresh and idk I never understood it, from where I stand I saw a lot of people actually complaining that they didnt know how to play dk and thought it was hard.

To experienced players its easy but to many who actually played dk the first time they think its slow and dont like having to play "like a tank" to live etc. Heard lots of interesting comments from people in cyrodiil like that who usually only play sorc or nb and I think it brings an appreciation to DK, which to me is a good thing.

I genuinely do not care that a lot of people made dk, it was exciting actually. I just love the class, its a good time.

I see well I wish DK did still need to be played like a tank, but I mained the class for a long time so maybe you're right that people new to class still feel that way. To me the class has become, as Else said back during Flames of Ambition, a high speed buzzsaw of a class.

I agree very much in the Turtler vs Kiter dichotomy of DK/Plar vs Sorc/NB. Of course Burstplar is like all the time best duelist but a OW 1vX Plar was a Turtler. Was, to me after Champion 2.0 and maybe before the New DK everyone was more of a Kiter.

If DK is doing best as Turtle in Heavy then for sure that aspect of the rework was a huge success. A Knight in leather armor makes me sick to my stomach

I am not like most of those pvpers because I roleplay, know the lore and pvp lol. I play one class because I play one character, its the only one im invested in, probably also because I have no desire to be or play anything else but DK, it matches my personality and playstyle the most both in kite meta and tank meta, and I do a mix of both depending on the situation, and if im grouped etc.

I do look at my k/d for sure like anyone lol, its fun. But idk I play other games too so I guess Im not as committed, I dont have the same sort of self importance tied up in this game as some other pvpers do, Im just here to chill and kill, tank and spank, and thats about it.

I play dk when it sucks, when its good, doesn't matter what others are doing in relation to it for me. Its definitely fun when its strong though and you don't have to struggle as much to play it. But you're right thats part of the fun of playing the class also, having a sense of mastery playing a class others arent as much. I get that, but what really made that hard to do was the introduction to subclassing.

It put out a level of power creep that made "making it work" very hard, and as soon as you started subbing in animal companion or aedric spear, both eventually on a dk with mechanical acuity etc, it was pretty much over. It was drastically better and there was no reason to even try making pure class dk work. Thats when i was at my strongest but at my least invested in the game.

So for me I'd rather see a bunch of DK as a consequence than feeling the pull of subclass again and that being the norm.

I have regard for theme and how the class is supposed to be played, but variation in how a class can be played is not bad either, it makes it more unique for instance when you're not the 20th streamer using VD and rallying cry lol on a dk, because the class is strong and you can make multiple playstyles work. Im rambling sorry.

    TLDR

Essentially, if a class is fun to play and feels good to play, people will flock to it, its a natural consequence of something being fun. Typically nerfs ruin this, and is why I'd rather see more classes buffed so they feel good and people can play those, rather than bringing everything down and closer to subclass meta. Which to me was the DK's lowest point. Although yea DK was better off pure compared to others, it was still pretty bad.
