And there was no way that players could test and report the bug during the regular PTS cycle and character copies. Even if it had been testable and reported, it's likely it wouldn't have been addressed. Other items were reported during the first few days of U50 PTS testing and still went live bugged.

Syncing up the releases for console and PC was never about making the quality of the releases better either.

Considering this was the state of QA before the recent staff cuts by Microsoft/X-Box, the prospects for future bugged content is indeed troublesome.

Every time you think this can't get any worse. I thought it was the usual quest marker dropping off, or the game suddenly changing to a different quest from the free-runner one currently in progress. But no. Yet another bug. As I finally got the last quest for both the others, I assume this was the last for lady Arabella, so I could finally stop playing these lackluster quests. I guess I'll have to wait for this to be fixed so I can finally be done.
Also - it was good to see how much originality was put into these, seeing existing side quests being used, rather than entirely new content.
Too many bugs. Might be an idea if the Dev's actually play the game themselves. Not just on test servers, but the actual live ones. Would be nice to know the percentage of Dev's that actually play.

(This may get snipped for being "hurty words", but while losing your job is never nice, I hope the forced layoffs are being used to get rid of those not able to produce content up to the standard of the original content. If not, there will be no improvement and the game WILL die.
So much of this Season has just been bad. Don't even get me started on the Sheogorath quest! When did mad/Insane come to mean moronic? "Here you go, unknown mortal. Please take this vitally important thing off of me!" Terrible writing. Played on one character. Never playing on another!)

I actually thought it was a brilliant use for favours, having them lead to obscure, often missed quests. Just played through them on PC where I haven't done any base game quests and loved that they took me to the two quests in Rivenspire without markers. I would've loved this back in the day when I was trying to clear Rivenspire Adventurer. I spent days running around poking into every corner for those last two before I thought to Google (I wasn't in any guilds and even if I had been there was no text chat to ask in then).

I also appreciated the quick finish on my PS main.

Overall I found them much better than the endless "kill this world boss" dailies on both accounts

Yeah, welcome to the age of 'non repeatable' and 'useless after completion' quests. Both Dynamic Encounters and Freerunners are pointless waste of dev time because once you get rewards there is no point whatsoever to do them again (for encounters) and not even option to redo them (for favors).

This trend is insane to me. Night Market - god knows how many dev hours wasted for content that was active 2 months and will NOT return this year. Like... why was this even done?

My impression of both Favors and Dynamic Encounters is that they are actually just a framework. I see rotating in other NPCs as 'patrons' for the Favors and replacing Dynamic Encounters with different ones on an ongoing basis.

I want to address the recent quest deletion issue, because the explanation given raises a far more serious concern than the bug itself. Your response stated that the issue never appeared in your internal environments and therefore needs to be “verified on Live.” If that is accurate, then your internal QA and test environments are not mirroring the actual Live environment players are using.

In professional QA, this is a fundamental requirement. Standard SOP dictates that before any testing cycle begins, the internal test and QA environments must be refreshed from the current Live build. Test 1 is always the same: “Is the foundation identical to Live?” If the answer is no, the test cycle fails immediately. Any further testing is invalid because results cannot be trusted to reflect Live behaviour.

If your internal environment diverges from Live to the point where Live‑only bugs appear, then every test performed in that environment is compromised before it even starts. That doesn’t just affect bug fixes — it affects new features, balance changes, systems updates, and anything else pushed through your pipeline.

This isn’t a matter of players being impatient or “complaining.” It’s a matter of basic QA hygiene. If the fundamentals aren’t being followed, how are players supposed to trust anything released? Not just this fix — anything.

I’m not asking for reassurances or “we believe this will resolve it.” I’m asking why standard industry practice is being bypassed, and how you intend to restore confidence in your testing process going forward.

I’ve also seen players suggesting that “not every quest would be tested” and that this issue could easily be missed. That is simply not how structured QA works. Every quest is tested independently before UAT/PTS. And for event‑cycle quests, the cadence can be accelerated internally — collect, complete, reset, repeat. A ten‑day event’s quests can be fully validated in a couple of hours.

This is standard SOP. There is no scenario where a core quest deletion bug should slip through because “we didn’t test that one.” If the foundational environment isn’t aligned with Live and the basic quest‑validation pass isn’t being performed, then every subsequent test is void before it begins.

@ZOS_Kevin It's Aug. 10th and disappointingly, the favor quest is still not working for me. Now, it won't let me interact with the letter on the board to start the quest. So sad, I was so hoping today would fix the quest so I could finish all the Favor quests.

This looks like a different quest to the one in the post, report it in-game or on here in a new forum post, the one in this post was about going to stormhaven to soul shriven tower

The quest being discussed in this thread is the 20th and final quest for Lady Arabelle. It was bugged so if the player left the zone the quest would just disappear. This has been fixed.

The one in this video is the 18th quest for Lady Arabelle to find her brother Nedras. The video shows the player finding and defeating him so I'm not sure what is not working.

As the video shows, the quest cannot be completed and - just in case there should be a book in the inventory that should be read - I don't have such a book. I cannot simply finish the quest after killing Nedras. Therefore, I showed in the video also the second run from the beginning when I give up the quest at the board and take it again - with the same result.
I already wrote to support, hope that they can help me or any player can confirm that this favor quest is working or not.

To complete Lady Arabelle's quest, find and defeat Nedras the Sly near the Westmark Moor Dolmen, and then read his journal from his corpse.

I've just checked that quest with one of my alts. After looting Nedras, his journal drops into your inventory (if you're using Dustman or any other inventory sorting addons, it may place journal into 'junk' category, don't miss it), you need to use journal directly from inventory - that will start related quest (also mind that interracting with journal doesn't make it "read", so you ant it to be in your library you'll need to read it again from 'quest item' tab where it'll be placed after you took the quest).
But I checked it without taking Frerunner's quest, so I can't guarantee that it'll work the same way with it - so, my reccomendation if for some reason journal doesn't drops while Favour quest is active, just abandon it, kill Nedras and do his quest, and after take Favour quest again. In this case you'll be able to turn the quest immediately after you've got it. Hope it'll help.

Thanks for checking that quest. As I did not have Nedras journal in my inventory after looting him, I will try kill him without accepting that favor priorily. Maybe that works...

I thought the same thing at first because I was looking in the quest tab of my inventory and it wasn't there. The journal is just in the general inventory.

I was able to finish the final Favor on my main character after the incremental patch on Monday. Since then, I've started the Favors on another character that hasn't done nearly as many zone quests as my main. The daily Favors are already taking much longer, since I'm actually having to go do something somewhere else, rather that just pick up a letter and turn it in.

I'm sorry to hear that @Salogwyn is having troubles with a particular quest because of a book. There was quite a group waiting for the Nedras NPC to spawn when I went by there this week, but nobody was saying it was bugged in zone chat. Often there will be quest related books nearby after a quest is completed. I do hope there's a workaround or a quick fix.

@Salogwyn there is similar discussion in the next topic (about Klaandor), people also struggled with issue not finding his journal after looting. And turns out that some of them somewhen in the past got this quest item with toons and put it in their bank, so game considered that as if you've alredy had journal and doesn't drop it again. So just in case try to check your bank or your toon's inventory.
