Huh??? On live I got 18264 spell res and 17538 phys res with rune active (major resolve) and fortified cp.
Wearing 6x med and 1 light armor.
I have 4734 weapon damage. Sets: Perf Null Arca, 2 charged daggers, 1x slime and Archiv set.
How can you get 25k armor + more than 7k weapon damage??
Can someone please explain to me what I'm doing wrong? Or what I'm misunderstanding?

Resolving vigor adds 3k, reinforced heavy chest adds almost as much, if you are nord that's another 2.6k, light piece should be sash since it has the lowest value anyway.
Keep in mind templar has a 6% increase to armor so the more flat you get the more it increases overall. Nirnhoned main hand for dual wield, likely bright harbinger, major sorcery etc all active maybe even weapon damage glyph.

Who wears heavy armor in pve and plays nord??

They guy with 25k resist and 7k spell damage? You were asking about a pvp build compared it to a pve build.
No offense but please read the previous messages in a thread before making assumptions based on a single answer.

Not directly related to quote itself but this isn’t the first time I’ve seen a reference to ‘be race, fix problem’.

Y’all, if the solution to any problem is be race… then we’ve failed and that isn’t a real solution.

Could Major Brutality be baked into a different skill instead of Biting Jabs, allowing it to be pre-buffed and not tied up to the stamina spammable to benefit magicka builds?

Add it to Restoring Aura perhaps?
20 second buff on the base skill
1 minute buff for the Radiant Aura morph
Active while slotted on either bar for Repentance morph.

I've been saying that brutality should be moved to a utility skill for the longest time.
I don't think we're going to get any meaningful skill changes until the rework, but I would love to see this happen.
Also, I thinn that barrage needs a damage buff to bring it up to CoF and Hurricane damage.
Major Breach needs to be put back into the Templar toolkit too.
Biting Jabs needs a meaningful utility buff added to it, considering the tradeoff of it being a blockable and dodge able aoe effected by Evasion. DK flame lash being AOE is not effected by Evasion, why should Jabs/Sweeps

You don't have to play nord to be fair, you can do for example imperial and get away with less sustain since they get extra cost reduction, and can fiddle with jewellery traits etc.
By that same logic imperial is the best race for a stam sorc running font of power since it gets 2k max stam.

But like I said a bit more generous scaling or increased cap on this new passive would definitely be nice.
I don't hate the idea of the passive change, but it's definitely nowhere near enough to bring templar damage in pvp to any acceptable range.

I still think short term removing the battle spirit nerf from Judgement Brand would be a massive boon.

On the same setup on the PTS, after proccing the Illuminate passive which grants 2970 armor, these are my stats:

    qyhypxwjcy24.png

I did a quick parse on an unbuffed 6m dummy with the setup, and with Major Brutality, an Infused Weapon Damage enchant and Bloodthirsty jewelry my maximum weapon damage was 7593.

there wont be any skill rework until the class rework but we can ask for values to be changed / upped at least to not make templar weaker and bring them on a similar level as other classes

I reached the cap of 500 weapon damage. But I need to have rune and vigor active all the time. That takes up two of my slots. I think that's a major drawback. In good support groups, you might get Major Resolve from the tank. But I have to provide the Minor Resolve myself.
So I don't have a free slot for an additional damage skill like “Carve” or “Vampire's Bane.” Also I need one cp slot for fortified which I could use for something more useful. That's not good. Not good at all.

Arcanists can provide the entire group minor resolve. Ofc not sure how viable is that to run unless it's a tank.

Combat Prayer gives Minor Resolve, not just Minor Berserk, so you can get it from healers

In endgame pve you get 12% spd for 6 medium , 20 from Major Brutality, assuming a dk is present another 10%, so the loss of 6% for even let's flat 300 is actually a net gain in many cases.
Not a major buff and I'd like to see this passive be stronger but it also not a major nerf.

That’s right. In a good group, Minor Resolve should have decent uptime. With a DK and NB in the group, the change could even be a buff. But for solo or 4-player content, it’s not so good. Even in veteran DLC dungeons, you rarely get a decent healer these days. Or a healer who even knows what Combat Prayer is. Most random groups I end up with are at least 3 dps. Many times you don’t even get a tank.

It can’t be right that a class that used to be very popular and easy to play—especially for new players—can now only keep up reasonably well in organized raid groups, can it?
In poorly organized random groups—whether for 4- or 12-player content—the Templar is at a disadvantage.

We're too dependent on other classes. I don't think the changes are good overall.
The important buffs should come from multiple classes. Or from other sources—whatever.
Why do the developers always assume the highest level?
Average skilled players are in the majority in this game.
They should be the benchmark—not high-end players and the conditions in high-end raids.

They should buff it more. If they already say that “…we've heard a lot of feedback about how the loss of Weapon and Spell Damage in solo application is felt, as well as the class lagging a little further behind others. This won't solve those problems entirely, but this should at least give a slight boost to help out the class
Then why be so stingy with the buffs?
It’ll take ages until the Templar class refresh –If it ever comes at all.

And as for the Archive set (Aetheric Lancer)...
    that’s already been mentioned before...
It’s really awful and very dangerous to play. You’re almost always literally one step away from death.
The yellow circle tends to spawn exactly where you are not supposed to be during the fight. For example, in the extremely deadly AoE around the boss. Or right in front of the boss’s face.
Not to mention that it's hard to make out the yellow circle amid all the other effects. It just so happens to be almost the same color as spear shards...
Who comes up with stuff like this???
Sometimes I really wonder... do you guys even play this game? At least sometimes?
