They nerfed the healing on the power lash morph a bit so they had to buff the class set. Because DK needs some real help out there these days.

They have been on it for a while already and dk does need help in pve. The only reworked class shouldn’t be one of the least desired dd, I’m sure we can all agree on that at least.

Its a bit funny. Current dk is in a pretty similar position to old nb. Bad in pve, really good in pvp and any small buff to attempt to buff dk for pve wont be recieved well by the pvp side because the class absolutely doesnt need it.

They even play similar, in the olden days you got kills on nb by doing incap bow proc shenanigans, now you are doing pretty much the same except with even more delayed burst and even more cc on dk with onslaught whip or leap whip.

Pyrebrand and wildfire is really meh in pve and most people arent even using. Its a really good sticky dot combo that cant be blocked and does good ramping damage in pvp. They buff the pve side cause pyre is underpowered, and even tho its a pretty small buff, it feels like a slap to the face for pvp.

I think even the 19k whips im dishing out and recieving on dk is fine. Hell the really good burst damage is also imo fine, nb can do burst too and no one has a problem with the poor nbs.

But the fact that any dk can easily perma block with core of flame is what breaks the class and what breaks the game.

    2xs26ykuj1k9.png
Here is a dk that blocked 42% of hits over 6 minutes with just Core of Flames.

Imo, as long as they cut the sustain on core of flames by around half with battle spirit active, its fine to give dk a 10-15% damage buff for pve or even pvp. The easiest way to do it imo would be adding a ramping 15% damage to dots and aoe damage to wildfire embers to make it thematic.

Yeah, being able to deal damage and kill is great, idk why we have to be forever stuck in a tank meta. Big damage is only bad when it can’t be countered like nb ganker meta we had cuz couldn’t see them coming or animals assassination multiclass cuz broken charm. It’s a shame they deleted signet too.

Seems like with the pyrebrand buff they tried to address both the set and landslide. Imo they should just buff that passive directly idk why they are so hesitant

They can buff dk however they want as long as they make core of flame give a reasonable amount of sustain rather than the 1 button i never run out skill it is today.

Honestly signets removal from pvp has effectively made all forms of subclass builds obsolote and most of the pure classes were never even viable in the first place.

But i 100% understand why it was removed too, some of the strongest builds were also abusing it and i guess it is a nightmare to balance.

I just wish the team at zos that decided Signet was too strong to be allowed in pvp would also take a look at core of flame and conservation of energy. Both of those skills absolutely break the game and have been doing so for far too long now.

If they take the signet approach they might delete dk straight up I’m afraid.
Why delete a fun set that also allowed more builds to stand closer to meta, it makes no sense tbh. If they rly had to nerf it they could simply bring down the damage buff, it’s as simple and straightforward as it gets. The set is now basically just a debuff to yourself. Not to mention they nerfed it in pve too when it should’ve been buffed instead.

Yeah the way they handle nerfs have been pretty haphazard i feel, would be a shame if they destroyed dk for pvp. Honestly the only thing about dk thats out of line imo is core of flame and thats the only thing that should be touched.
But i think the most likely thing thats gonna happen is nothing when it comes to dk. At least for this patch.

I don't really think buffing Pyre does much to DK in PVP aside from maybe making another viable build. DK is largely a bomber or runs oakfather from my experience, so this doesn't really move the needle up any higher for them. Just brings a 3rd viable build into play and may help the class not be gutter tier in PVE.

Basalt-Blooded Warrior isn't exactly going around being used everywhere either. I personally think all IA sets should be viable given how mind numbingly horrific the place is to farm, but it's not like any classes is running around with two meta options form there. With the 3rd round coming out and encompassing the most important skill lines for a couple classes that can change, but as of now things are more or less in line.

    Got it.

There's no amount of help that can make that awful set useful and we all know they're not reworking a set.
