Elemental Susceptibility change

Hi everyone, short post today granted that the warden refresh has been pushed to next year.

I just wanted to discuss the changes to Elemental Susceptibility.

Weakness to Elements
Elemental Susceptibility: This morph now has a 3240 Magicka cost, rather than being free, to account for how much stronger status effects have become over time.

I think that nerfing this ability to add a cost is quite warranted, however, i think that with it now costing 3240 magicka per cast, it's now too expensive to justify using. i know on warden, i already struggle a bit with sustain, so adding an expensive cost to this ability will just make me stop using it.

i also think that just simply adding a cost is a bit too boring of an effect. i would've prefered to see something like a unique debuff applied against the target that makes them take increased damage from your staff's damage type, as well as applying only the staff damage type's status effect every 4 seconds so that you can maintain 100% uptime on the status effect.

this would take the skill from used on all builds, to specifically being a really strong tool mainly for pure element builds in low target situations.

I don't really agree with the one-sided explanation.
The pts-suggested cost may be a bit too high, but ele sus is clearly doing too much for a free skill (in pve that is not felt as a problem).
    Possible alternatives:
    - They could make this cost Battle Spirit only.
    - Nerf status effects itself in pvp instead of going after all status effect skills/items.

I think tying 1 status effect to each class and then making them apply only from said class, with maybe some exceptions for some procs would be an easy way to balance them. Ofc it would be a lot of work since so many effects are tied to statuses now.

    WRONG.
That is felt as a problem for PvE

If you quote me, please don't remove a whole line from in between the part you quote as that naturally changes the entire emphasis what I mean not to be felt as a problem in PvE.
Elesus being both free, applying status effects and applying major breach is significantly more a problem in PvP, as in PvE you cooperate; elesus being run by a support does not harm the other players, and the fraction of damage that it does in PvE is small in the large scheme.
Capital letters bold "WRONG" does not really give me any indication what part you disagree with and with what arguments.

I think you are misunderstanding the application of the skill. The cost will have zero effect on support. The cost is in place to prevent it being a spammable. With some set combinations, the skill was useful as a free spammable, often doing more damage that an actual spammable. And with the zero cost, you could infinitely sustain a parse.

It is absolutely a PVE issue, as it trivializes content in the current state.

I dont play pvp so i dont feel qualified to say anything about it.

The skill has a 30 second timer right? How often does one really have to reapply this?

I use it as ranged debuff on tank and while the cost is good, it is a bit expensive now to spam on multiple targets.
The mythic is nerfed in pvp, I would say this is mainly impacting pve now. There is almost a lag in what was needed, what changed, and now the cost change.

The issue isn't people using it as a DoT. People were using it as a spammable because each of the status effects did damage, making this actually a strong spammable and free.

That cost is going to hurt in IA.

    Might be joking in comments.

That's a whole separate issue, focused efforts should have alternatives for later arcs.

I think the cost is justified, but I'd like to see some other major breach abilities get a bit of a buff.
Crushing weapon is definitely going to be way stronger than it was next patch, but I'd like to see for example caltrops buffed specifically the major breach duration on it.

Puncture and it's morphs could also use some love, maybe extra effects, afaik, it's not even used by pve tanks atm.

It was the super Spam skill and DoT skill—one that couldn't be roll dodge with a roll.
It was simply too overpowered in PvP and PvE.

Plenty of better approaches to an oppressive skill in pvp, but zos as ever are allergic to nuanced changes, why renovate a room if you can just lock the door to that room.

The only Warden Class Masteries worth using in PvP are the status FX based ones. So... no longer worth playing my magicka warden at all in PvP, unless I subclass. And I hate subclassing.

Make ele sus 4k mag for good measure. I have hated that this skill has been free to cast for so many years

Had more fun playing Templar than warden lately. I wish the masteries weren’t tied to the statuses it’s too punishing to work around.
