Vengeance: Turn Sets Back On

I do understand that ZOS want to analyse the data, but after just one hour it was obvious that having the full set bonuses applying in Vengeance was having little to no impact on performance. As I have said elsewhere the culprit imo is the way active skills worked and the combat passives (two things very much addressed but with room to add back slowly).

The decision to only have Sets on during the test was made weeks ago I'm sure, but the test itself showed there just isn't a performance problem here, and that Sets very much helped not only fill in the gaps in some classes, but also brought some variety of play and buildcrafting back in, as well as bringing the players up to a level closer to that which they are not only used to but that Cyrodiiil expects.

Please, turn these back on. It isn't going to harm anything in the short term. You can still analyse the data, and make decisions going forward. Vengeance very much feels like it took a massive step backwards when it came back online without Sets. ZOS, you need to take bolder swings.

Nope, play GH or BR if you want sets. It is available right now.

The great thing of Vengeance is that is decoupled from the PvE grind and cheesy proc crap.

I had terrible performance during the test week with sets as well. Half of my skills and destruction staff didn't fire. And looking at comments, I wasn't the only one.

I was experiencing poor performance with sets enabled. Before and after, performance was fine.

As I keep saying to those opposed to Vengeance, it's a test environment. It isn't decoupled, it's stripped back, and they are adding things back in. Or do you think farming Maple Wood is normal for a fully levelled character?!

Be interesting to know the specs you are running, as of the dozens of people I know who played the campaign, not one noted performance problems of note.

Vengeance needs to be a clean and reliable test environment, sets add too many variables for them to properly test the next thing they want to test. So while you may want sets because that makes it more fun, you need to undesrtand that, as a live test environment, the needs of reliable data gathering should be ZOS's priority.

Well check the Vengeance threads for all the performance complaints. In fact there is also a person who complained about it in this very thread.

You must have been very lucky not to experience it.

I also had issues with dark convergence and tarnished nightmare proccs were constantly dashboarding me or crashing me to character selection screen. There were other procc set effects too, that crashed me, but I don’t know what they were I did provide feedback, but some were saying that some sets cause these crashes in every environment anyway, I think @LadyGP mentioned that.

Personally, I’m for no sets in vengeance if it’s all or nothing. But if they could just pick sets that have no procc conditions, I’d be fine. But to my knowledge very few sets exist that way

Performance was worse in the set-enabled test, but it was better than 2018 Cyrodiil. I remember entire groups in the middle of battle freezing in a 5-min load screen and standing still. And skills taking multiple presses to fire was a problem back then too.

Skills not firing happened occasionally in the 1st Vengeance test, but it's more punishing in the latest test because of set powercreep where a mistake will cost you your life.

I never had ping problems or crashes as someone who lives in NA and plays on NA. I have gotten random loading screens and died as a result, and have seen enemy combatants suddenly stand still. I heard multiple complaints from Australians and Brazilians about ping spikes and going to 999+ ping.

Personally I don't really like the sets. Dark Convergence and Rush of Agony get old and annoying really quickly. However, other than those 2 sets, having sets makes the roleplay and customization more fun and I think it'll be necessary for long-term monetiziation and gear chase for the majority of the population.

It was very buggy and laggy for me during the set test.

I don’t really get why you guys would want sets in Vengeance honestly. It’s such a mess in terms of implementation and I didn’t find it fun to play whatsoever.

I want to see a Vengeance specific set roster among other things, but absolutely not the way the test handled things.

Why not just pick Grey Host if you want all the sets?

Performance in Vengeance with item sets was wayyy better than Gray Host, but worse than regular Vengeance during peak hours. I think it's the best of both worlds, with extra customization and good build options, while still deterring ball groups.

Vengeance is a bit too uninteresting for me without the uniqueness of sets. Hopefully they find a performant way to add more customization (even without sets) or learn how to make sets more performant in Gray Host.

Well yeah, I'm going to be spending my time in Gray Host as well. But if the queue is too long, I'm not going to go into Vengeance if it doesn't have Item Sets. Vengeance with sets is a better alternative than Blackreach is — we probably wouldn't even have needed Blackreach to return if Update 50 launched with Item Sets in Vengeance.

You see, what you don't understand is its a test environment. That means that it was only meant to serve as a test not for anything permanent, so you will have to settle for Greyhost and Blackreach while Zos decides what is best for Vengeance in the future. Once it is done being tested, perhaps they can focus on your request.

Zos then: Vengeance is just a test bro

Zos now: Do you want Vengeance permanent or permanent...
