Nobody is taking numbers from GH, never said that, nobody in this thread has. Every single person in this thread has voiced the same problem multiple times, how is it that such is the case yet you come to the conclusion you do? The issue is GH being shut down completely for testing that more people do not want, than do.

    More people by what reckoning?

    This thing called objective fact.

    receipts please

Open your eyes and look at the population that is literally always available.

    So no receipts, noted.

When you made this post GH had an hour long queue and vengeance doesn't even have one bar.

You know you're not making good faith arguments, or any argument for that matter.

My 2 cents for this round of testing:

I usually play in Gray Host, but this time I actually had some fun in Vengeance. However, there were moments when lag was just as bad as in Gray Host.

Which, in my opinion, means that proc sets do indeed increase lag. There is a simple solution for this:

Make 4 sets especially for Vengeance, 1 Soldier set (more dps), 1 Vanguard set (more resistances/health), 1 Medic set (more healing) and throw in a 4th set that gives extra sustain. That would even out the balance issues.

That would mean less varation, so I suggest to only enable monster sets and mythics so that we have something to play around with.

How about they just use the data collected from vengeance to improve GH, like they said the purpose of vengeance was in the first place.

Oh, totally agree. But would you still agree when that could possibly mean removing proc sets from GH?

I think that if you have both available, then Vengeance could work with the mentioned solution and people could choose GH if they want the full experience, with more lag of course.

That already happened, and it failed. Gray Host already went through no proc tests, and performance seemingly did not improve at all. Afterward, ZOS left Ravenwatch as the only no proc campaign, which effectively killed what had previously been, by far, the second most popular campaign. Most of its population simply moved to Blackreach instead.

ZOS cannot permanently replace Cyrodiil with a watered-down version of PvP. Build variety and customization are fundamental parts of what make this game’s PvP so great. Time and time again, whenever ZOS has attempted to trade that freedom for improved performance, the playerbase has overwhelmingly chosen to tolerate the performance issues rather than give up the freedom to create and experiment with builds.

If they genuinely intend to use the data gathered from Vengeance to improve Gray Host, they need to do so while preserving most, if not all, of the build freedom Gray Host currently offers. They should investigate why certain item sets contribute to server performance issues and fix the underlying problems, not simply remove those sets and call the problem solved.

If they choose the latter approach, Cyrodiil PvP is bound to meet its end, just as Vengeance and no proc Ravenwatch failed to attract and retain players. It is honestly insane that we are going through this again. As the saying goes, those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it—and ZOS seems determined to repeat the same mistakes.

Of course, all of this assumes that ZOS ever intends to use the data from these tests to improve performance in Gray Host, which increasingly appears not to be the case. Instead, they are wasting time rebuilding Cyrodiil from the ground up around Vengeance, gradually developing a replacement that the core PvP playerbase has repeatedly rejected, rather than investing those resources into improving the version of Cyrodiil that players actually want to play.

I agree with everything you've said, but I think it won't be possible. Therefor, I suggested to keep both campaigns, not permanently replace Cyrodiil. People who want large battles can go Vengeance, the other ones can stay in GH. I will be there too.

I had a lot of fun in Vengeance, with overall latency lower than in GH, but I experienced a few game crashes during sieges, and the latency would suddenly spike in certain situations.
I think this is likely due to specific set effects or skill animation.

Additionally, encountering players using certain mounts also increases latency, especially noticeable during chases or escapes. Special animations for mounts can cause stuttering, and this is more likely to occur the further away the target is.

The set bonuses finally added enough variety and the TTK was quite a bit better. The feeling of not being able to accomplish anything outside of being a body in a zerg was gone. 1v1s actually had outcomes instead of every fight being an endless punching match until we got bored. I also didn't need a buddy system to venture anywhere need NPC guards.

But I wonder if this could also be achieved with several more layers of perks. Partly for performance reasons, partly for ease of balancing, and partly because it's nice to have a campaign where anyone can join on any character regardless of whether they're carrying around PvP sets. Inventory issues aside, it makes the campaign more accessible to new players. On the other hand... I really liked being able to use mythics again.

Overall I found it fun and it was nice to play in a sorta-GH-like campaign without massive lag, without a queue, and with three times the players (also no CP and no ball groups were a bonus for me). Basically fixing all the things I dislike about GH while feeling more like PvP. I haven't played Vengeance outside of the tests, but I might if this set up became the current version of Vengeance.

P.S. Detect pots next test pretty please, if sets are active again.

P.P.S. My performance was fine, just a couple brief desyncs, but I had terrible lag the last two tests so I don't know what to make of that lol

I don't understand the point of the Vengeance server.

Wasn't it intended to be the great equalizer, where everyone could play together reasonably equally? And to grow a community of like-minded players?

But if people can bring in mythics (like they just tested), then it is not a fair fight between a high level player and someone level 49 or less. If they want variety of play styles, then limit it to crafted gear (the 5 item bonus), which applies to all levels.

Sometimes Vengeance is a test server, with substantial variation of rules between tests. Other times, who knows what it is. It would be difficult to grow a community of people who return regularly. I know I am bailing on it, even though the test was fun.

I wanted to give up my Home status on Vengeance, and had to pay 100k gold to do so. That's absurd for a randomly part time test server. Frankly, it should be free to leave when you don't like a server with massive yet random changes in how it is played. I tried another character who didn't enter Cyrodiil yet, and they changed for free. It's like testing it as a Home server is penalized if you don't like it.

To get people to try it out, there should be double experience/AP all of the time, and no requirement for it to become your Home server to get tier rewards. Once the server is more settled, the normal rules can take effect again. This part time test environment is silly. Either make it a "live test" server, or a normal server. But don't switch them up.

As it sits, I can't recommend it. I like the idea, but the implementation is just not working for me.
