Vengeance Test Version

In my opinion this test version of Vengeance has been one of the most enjoyable versions of Cyrodiil I have played in a long time. There is just enough variety with class, loadouts, perks, and final piece armor bonus to to make it feel like you are really doing a build that you like but there is no crazy damage unkillable builds out there. Plus the game seems to play better even with massive amounts of people at the same keep. There was some definite keep fights that would have half the people disconnecting and it was still playing pretty smooth. I would definitely make this test version of vengeance my home campaign if it were to become permanent. What does everyone else think?

If you play normal version well, you will understand it is still dull and meatless parody with two outperforming classes and actually unkillable builds until you Xv1 them or siege. Sieges are incredible, the only way to play Vengeance. Place where bigger crowd wins (and sieges). Even with sets working, it is still too unbalanced. And what is the point in big amount of players if you can't damage more than 3 targets? With bigger limit it would at least start making sense to play small scale and be able to kill noob zerg.

TL;DR: probably a heaven for new players, you don't need to think or build, just siege and follow the zerg.

It's still just which ever zerg is bigger wins.

not entirely true, ive been at some big fights in vengeance where the enemy group outnumbered (not overwhelmingly but maybe by 20-25% more people) and still was able to successfully defend against them when they failed to push into the keep

Having mandatory tests ruining performance in IC is a terrible thing, regardless of how anyone enjoyed Vengance.

On another note: @LPapirius Idk why people are thinking that zerging requires zero skill. A better built up and nicely coordinated party will beat a larger, but uncoordinated horde. Synergies, timing and strategy is a thing with large scale pvp as well. Having tons of HP and kiting noobs in a tower is not the only form of 'skilled' gameplay in Cyro.

If you have "Synergies, timing and strategy", you are not in a zerg, but in a ballgroup. I saw no single well-coordinated group during tests tbh, but I played during prime time for maybe 3 days, so they might play the other day.

That's because there's no real chaos element. When there's nothing but order, the end result follows a defined path.

It hardly got any better. Vengeance is still the least fun pvp experience i had in this games 11 years. And it will never get good as it is designed to not reward skill at all. A pvp environment that doesnt reward skill is useless.

I would say that vengeance takes more skill to stay alive and get kills. Gray Host is nothing but bombers, tanks, and speed builds. I don't see how that is more skill. Vengeance everyone has close to the same stats so that just leaves skill. I am going to give vengeance a serious try. The play style feels more like PVP when the game first came out.

It was the most enjoyable yesterday, when populations climbed to a higher level. Ideally we could have such large populations on Grey Host as well - perhaps some day.

And here we are the first day with GH back. GH has queue over an hour and vengeance can't even field enough people to take a keep.

Skill in Vengeance = play NB or DK, stay in zerg and never push first, and stay away from sieges.
