Imperial City porting changes made the place a lot worse

I´ve been playing ESO for over 10 years and been playing PvP for more than half of that but it was just now that I had the actual worst experience I have ever had in this game.
Someone on a sorc actually griefing me and a friend by constantly spamming elemental susceptibility on us, while wearing imperial physique with 45k+ hp, constantly rolling, streaking and running around the environment. All of that in no CP Imperial City, so after the recent changes that you can´t port out while having Tel Var on you there was literally no way to escape besides either giving in and letting them kill us or to keep trying to kill them.
Eventually, after like 30 minutes of infuriatingly chasing them/getting chased by them we managed to kill them and could port out but it ruined the evening for both us. I even whispered that person to stop but they didn´t care. So yeah, changing it to that you cannot port out anymore with Tel Var on you made the place worse by a lot. People are able to literally griefe and hold you hostage just by using ele sus and then running and there´s little counter play if they build for that kind of playstyle.

This is so much worse than how it was before. People complaining about the quick getaways were just whinging that their food wasn't walking onto their plate.
Benefit of the doubt should always be given to the escapee. Now the trolls have the upper hand.

Preventing people from leaving a zone without using an in-game door, which you can't use while in combat, prevents people from leaving a zone without leaving combat, in a PvP area where people famously keep people in combat at an unkillable distance? Who could have seen this coming. (Literally anyone who has ever played the game. Ever.)

If you played early IC, then you should know it is the same now as it was before. Teleport via Cyrodiil is a "feature" which was finally fixed. With ability to teleport in combat, simply anybody can escape any unwanted situation and save telvars, it became a coward's meta, even in YT videos players told to install an addon to teleport from fights. Is it a fair fight?

About your situation: with tp stone you can leave even in combat. With unstoppable potion it is impossible to interrupt it, and if they troll played fat no damage build in noCP - they most likely could not kill you while you are porting out with tp stone. EZ.

Fix was introduced to stop griefing literally everybody abused, it must not be reverted because of one troll appeared once and because you have not learned how to play in 5 years.

You can thank all the gankers complaining about people not opting to give half the farmed Tel Var stones by dying to them. This sort of limitation was never a good idea. Imagine being unable to port out of sticky situation from Cyro by queuing out of it because some people didn't like people doing so and wanted similar 'if you have 100 AP, you cannot queue out' limitations. Yikes.

They would have had enough damage to kill me during the port animation.
And of all the times that people ported out during a fight right in front of me it never really mattered. I could just move on and find the next fight. It wasn´t *nearly* as disruptive as this situation was.
And why are you assuming that I haven´t learned to play just from this situation :)? That´s pretty rude mate.

I honestly disagree with OP. I know it can be frustrating to face gankers, especially when tel var is on the line, but IC is a PvP zone and it is not okay that people can just randomly teleport away from tricky situations without sacrificing resources. Just imagine you are killing a boss and it despawns before you can finish it :D If you at least burn an unstoppable potion and a keep recall (which is still an option as @imPDA ) then it is okayish, but having a free "ezbb" button is lame.

I am still of the opinion, if you take a door, especially the ones at the side with the balcony with a safezone on the other side, you should be able to port, you are in a safezone, no one can kill you there anyway.

Kill in Cyro does not give you half of AP opponent carried, otherwise by killing me, people would become AP millionaires after one kill :D Additionally, during prime time, if you leave Cyro, you will see 80+ queue, so it is not as common as it was in IC. I am also agreeing with people saying limit should be higher and tp stones cheaper, current limit it too low you can collect this amount simply killing a couple of mobs during quests. Higer limit would allow questers to quit faster and still would not allow other players escape for free.

If they keep it bad like it is now. They need to allows us to at least use doors while being damaged, just like in cyro. So we can at least walk through sewers to get to the alliance base.

Except that you can't port when in safe areas either, where you can't be attacked either way. There's no reason to keep someone from porting out where they won't lose any TV regardless.

If you want someone to blame, blame ZOS for making players lose a ridiculous half their TV simply for being ganked by builds that offer little to no time to fight back. Very few people enjoy doing a lot of work for TV only for gankers to come make a majority of that work absolutely pointless. Maybe if people only lost 25-30% there'd be more folks in there, but I'm more than willing to bet the only people who've started playing IC more since the "fix" (which doesn't keep someone from queueing for something BEFORE getting 100 TV) are likely those who gank or run in tiny highly efficient ball groups to delete others off the map.

If you played for 10 years, you should know that it is how IT was designed supposed to be played. The ability to bail of the fight by queuing is just exploiting of convenience feature. If you're in IC without a fat Tel Var stack on you, then accept death and move on with your stuff, you have nothing to lose anyway. If you're in IC to farm Tel Vars, then fight for them and be ready to be ganked, it's a PvP zone, you can't expect to have safety and reward at the same time.

Totally disagree with your assessment, but I've also seen you comment on all of these in favor of the changes...no surprise.
It's not just "one person", it's a bunch of people doing the same thing. As many threads as you've commented on, you should know that by now, but you choose to ignore that.
The reality is there were suggestions before the change, which was to allow people to port out when not in active combat.
It seems that there are people doing things that were not what the devs wanted to happen, but people are taking advantage of these exploits, and YES it's an exploit. It's like the Warden Charm exploit people were using, and the other exploits being used and weren't fixed.
Ele sus shouldn't keep someone in combat. People doing this exploit shouldn't be allowed to do it as this was NEVER what the devs intended to happen. See how that works? The devs never intended for people to exploit things just to harass people in IC.
IC will be dead soon because of horrible decisions made by the devs because of whiney PvPers that like to exploit abilities and sets and harass others.
This is an exploit that the devs never INTENDED on happening, it's like using sneak pots to camp ladders and quests, the devs NEVER INTENDED for people to do that, but it happens, and people like you will make the argument that it is intended because it allows you to exploit things that were NEVER INTENDED to be used like it's being used.

Ah absolute bull crap. I have builds that can literally not be killed in IC, block tanks that don´t die unless 20 people with negates and sieges beat on you. Now I could just put ele sus and some speed on, go out there and find some solo or duo players and grief them to let me kill them to get their Tel Var, while they have no counter whatsoever.
Does that sound fun to you? Is that your definition of good PvP? Where does it lead if people just "accept" death in that situation. It even encourages this rotten behaviour.

Only 100 telvars is annoying and realistic it is nothing, we can get 100 telvars in 10 seconds.

    Definitely should be more.

In the other it is a good idea, I had to go to the sewers few times and I saw how I missed walk down there.

I remember a long time ago people use to camp at the base door to fight for telvars.

IC was also intended to be a subzone for Cyrodiil and was one of the few places that you could farm high level crafting mats. With only Wrothgar being the other source. You also had to run to and find the entrances in Cyrodiil and hope they weren't being camped. Also, originally tel var only dropped like 10% if you died from monsters or fall damage that also was intended.

    So... sometimes intentions change.

IC has been dead since it got its own campaign.

So keeping things as they are probably wont hurt it. But it wont help either.

Before I read this, I just said in the other post that it was a pointless change because it doesn't do anything for the person that "might" have lost Tel Var, but essentially enables an unbalanced experience for those that are under fire by tank sorcs, DKs, stealthers, and WWs.

IC is a very bad place to bother going. Can't forget when the trolls there die they get extremely irate for some reason. One threatened to expose me on YT. I laughed and said "but you died? Who's getting exposed?"

The trolls there are fortunate I can't fire siege in there. You did good. ZOS should revert that change, because it doesn't benefit the person that might lose Tel Var and just enables griefing lby tank DKs, WWs, sorcs, and stealth users ike you described.

It's for the griefers. I was exercising on my bike and a guy literally fought me for 2 hours just to try and kill me. I was riding my bike and laughing the whole time. When he finally killed me he got 100 Tel Var. He messaged "seriously? " and spammed profanity because I "wasted his time".

He wasted his own time. I was going to roll on that bike for 2 hours regardless, and playing the game is a distraction from the pain generated doing it. But I do have to admit, it was a little more entertaining than firing siege. Especially his irate response.

The only reason I ever had for going to Imperial City was Event tickets. We don't need those any more, yay. Tel Var stones is just another of the myriad of incomprehensible currencies. I don't know why I need them, so I don't care. I understand crowns, I used to spend them when I had ESO+. I understand gold. All the other stuff... I just never visit whatever stores you spend them in. It's cognitive overload.

IC is a PvP enabled zone. Big difference.

In Cyrodiil, there is a clear goal to attack and defend keeps and resources. The whole campaign is built around that premise. Without players engaging in PvP(AvA) the entire premise falls apart.

In IC, absolutely nothing changes if players don't engage in PvP. It's a PvE zone with PvP enabled. That very much opens the door to griefers.

The new porting system is the best thing to ever happen to Imperial City! The old system (or lack thereof) was nothing short of an exploit and pure abuse. Anyone wanting to bring it back is just an abuser and an exploiter!

You know what? I want all the achievements from vOC, vLC, and other HM content, so maybe ZOS should implement a "system" for me and folks like me to get them without spending months wiping in a progression group? Of course I'm joking.

Stop lying to the entire forum community! You aren't looking for "convenience"; you just want a risk-free way to deposit your Tel Var Stones. Here's a shocker: the player attacking you is a human being too (WOW!!), and nobody likes it when farmers or pvpers just vanish mid-fight into another campaign to save their Tel Var or to avoid death.

Uh no. The entire point of IC is that it functions like an extraction game.

You kill stuff (including other players) and get out without getting killed by other players yourself.

You're supposed to fight over the flags, as they give massive Tel Var bonuses.

IC changes completely without PvP. The entire zone was designed around being able to steal other player's Tel Var by engaging in PvP.

I do believe you can use spell crafting to make a cleansing spell to remove elemental susceptibility.

I haven't tried it yet. You also can't repair keeps with it on you either.
