IA Antiquities drop rate.

I just want to understand the insanity that is the antiquities drop rate.

Weeks to get one lead is crazy.

You guys closed the other thread because you said was from 2023 and was to old.

So this mean you guys just don't care about our time, because you guys didn't fix it. This is just unbelievable.

The antiquity lead chances for the Necrom and West Weald DLCs are awful. IA and WW antiquity farming are some of the most painful grinds in the game.

To illustrate, I just got the second lead for the Forged Black Book after 2 years. And I'm still trying to get the leads for my second Infinite Tome. So at this rate, I guess I won't get my third one till 2028?

They are supposed to have a fix coming up to increase the chances for the second and third (or second and subsequent?) leads, so I hoping that will improve things.

Btw, closing an old thread is pretty normal on these forums as sometimes (not always, granted) old threads can contain outdated info.

I just want some more of those nice glowy ball furnishings :( I got one lead and have one of them but the chances are so slim that I will get another that it feels pointless grinding IA. I hate that I have to do so much of it just for some miniscule chance to get a nice light for my house T-T

For me, Infinite Archive leads were always in plenty, are you guys doing the side portals, killing the scamps in the boss rooms? This is also my Infinite Archive progress for leads. I must say i spend a lot of time in Archive in the previous years though.

    I don't bother any more.

If I have do the same thing dozens times for something to drop, I'm not doing it.

This is a game, and there's nothing fun about chronically inequitable RNG and loot tables designed to make you go crazy.

I did IA almost daily for a couple of months, doing as many of the side portals, marauders and scamps as I could. The scamp only gave me a lead once or twice, and the side portals are an enormous headache as I can only do a few reliably. I've slowed down now but still do them. They're always disappointing. I keep getting leads for antiquities I don't want. I don't know how many Torcs of the Ayleid King or enormous slug fossils ZOS thinks I need...

IMO, the problem in IA isn't drop rate for leads but moreso that the size of the pool is absurd.

Getting the leads to drop isn't really a problem. Getting the leads you actually need is.

Doing everything day after day, hours after hours. And nothing. I looke date reddit and they said the same thing there.

This is insane a total BS and a disrespect that ZOS show to us.

And we after years playing this game that literally don't care about their costumers I can understand couple decisions MS has made

Both are problems imo. About two thirds of my IA runs do not drop any leads at all. I can have the scamp show up 3 times in a run and drop nothing but a gear piece and treasure all 3 times. Same with the side portals.

And then yeah, when something does drop, it's always a piece of the mythic or something else I don't want. If the lead pool is so cluttered, I think we need to have at least curated leads, or an almost guaranteed lead in Tho'at's chest.

OK, I decided to run the IA today until I get at least one lead.

So I ran for 8 hours straight and absolutely nothing!!!!

I play this game since launched and never experienced something so frustrating like this.

Where are you ZOS to answer.

Everything is pretty plain sailing up till High Isle anything after that the leads have a MASSIVE drop off I just don’t get it.

I hope MS close this game really soon because this is what this game really deserves.

The only advice I can give you is to play a DPS build and spam Arc1 and Visons/verse pure to boost your dmg.
One run takes (me) about 10–12 minutes (depending on luck with verses/visions/side portals), plus let’s say 1 minute to reset the instance. And you get 2 side chestsy one tho at chest and the occasional goblin—all in all, you’ll get 3–4 loot where you can have Lead in about 13 minutes, which works out to one loot every 4–5 minutes. If you’re interested purely in Leads, I’d say the Arc 1 rotation is the best option. Going to Arc 2 takes longer (for me), and the only extra you get is a Marauder, but that doesn’t make up for the time it takes to finish Arc 2. The only reason I’d go for Arc 2 is if I didn’t have the complete Lead that drops exclusively from it (I don’t remember the exact name right now…), but otherwise, just Arc 1.
I’ve been at 3/3 on all IA for a while now, but I remember when I was farming it, I spent a ton of hours on it (400? or something like that...), so this is an absolutely insane grind, because as someone already mentioned here, there are a lot of potential leads in one place, so...
    It’s doable, but...

Is my account cursed with bad RNG then? Because I almost always run at least 2 arcs, and still get no leads the grand majority of the time. For example, today I ran 2 arcs with 4 successful side portals, 1 pilferer and 1 marauder, and zilch, no leads. And that's my standard experience.

I use to do Arc because the drop from Marauder and I really like to fight the Marauder. But yes take more time.

I really like the IA ideia. But the grind is so stressful that I don't even want to try go as far as possible I can because I'm tired of it.

A good ideia that they destroyed with a insanely drop rate.

And I'm doing almost everything you said but I will try more and see I can get at least one.

Ok exactly two more hours and nothing.

I want to believe it is bugged.

Because I don't want to believe somebody meant to do something like this.

But in the other hand we have something that it is bugged for years, the community is upset with the problem and ZOS just don't care.

As we can see they were fast to close the other thread, but they don't even come here to give to us a explanation or just say that they will take a look on that.

This really prove that they don't play their on game, they don't know their on game because if they try to get the leads from the IA they would just stop to play the game or fix it.

First time I was taking the Marauders with a friend and my friend was killing the mobs.

Second time I was hitting the Marauder and he just Vanished.

I was just doing the same thing I did hundred of times before.

But I make sure he is taking damage all the time.

Marauders have a leash distance just like world bosses do. Lead them too far away from the tether, and they reset just like world bosses. Except in the case of Marauders, the reset results in them vanishing.

Took me a while too. The thing is, if you have a decent build that can consistently make it to Arc 8–10, they'll come eventually. As for the mythics that drop there, they're nice to have, but none of them are irreplaceable or mandatory for any build.

It's the same mentality as farming a perfected weapon and running vLC or vDSR 50+ times in a week trying to force the drop. Seriously, you don't need to collect absolutely everything as fast as possible. Play the game because you enjoy it. If it's making you angry, frustrated, or genuinely affecting your mood, what's the point?

What's going to happen once you finally get the Fate Dealer's Ring or Torug's? Is Bill Gates going to kick your door down, shake your hand, and award you the "Champion of ESO" belt?

I recently finished collecting the Barkskin leads, and that still took me around 3–4 weeks of passive farming. By passive, I mean killing the Preserver once every day or two, doing the occasional delve boss, or buying a Galen treasure map and opening a chest when I felt like it. I can't imagine forcing myself to kill the Chimera 28 times in one day—that's how many kills it took before that lead finally dropped for me.

Don't burn yourselves out. Take breaks if you need to. Back in 2016–2018, I spent countless hours chasing Dro-m'Athra Destroyer and TTT. Between the grind and the elitist groups on Xbox at the time, the game stopped being fun and started feeling like a second job. I got completely burned out and didn't seriously come back until February this year, when I started over on PC.

ESO isn't going anywhere. The loot will still be there tomorrow, next week, and next month. Your enjoyment of the game is worth a lot more than shaving a few days off a grind.

I don't do pve, maybe this is the reason it is stressful for me.

I can get the Farm in Cyrodil hundreds of time, but this IA is absolutely annoying for me.

Would be good we have a way to get this leads in pvp too.

Anyways after a whole day farming I got 4 leads today.

3 for the Clothier Station and one for the Mythic. So now I can believe they drop there.

At least Cyrodil was closed and I really didn't enjoy vengeance, so now I'm going back to GH.
