Who is this latest version of Vengeance made for?

So you have the people who enjoy Vengeance. This crowd is generally more of the casual players and newer PvPers who don't want to spend hours buildcrafting and grinding gear for a specific meta built that will become obsolete next patch cycle. Some of these players are also there so they don't have to deal with the ballgroups farming entire factions with proc sets like Vicious Death and Rush of Agony etc etc.

Then you have players who dislike Vengeance because they enjoy build crafting and the general diversity.

By introducing proc-sets, it looks like neither side is going to be happy.

If this is just performance testing, we already did this years ago with no-proc Grey Host.

i think it IS performance testing, but since vengeance is basically a "ground up" rebuild of cyro more or less, they are slowly adding things back in to see "what breaks" the performance

personally i liked the vengeance as it was before this test, having 0 gear bonuses and everyone standardized, nobody felt "mega OP" and there were no toxic elements like ball groups, bombers, etc

i think this round of vengeance testing wont appeal to anyone, since its still a watered down version of GH, but at the same time is adding back in all of the toxic elements of cyro that people liked about vengeance lol

this round of vengeance is going to be plagued by a dot meta, a burst meta, or bomber meta most likely

When you spend time and money building a car with square wheels , you have to justify the development. She. The plan didn't work , double down changing to triangle wheels. Hoping something sticks before you are found out that building cars is not your thing!

I don’t think it’s made for any group in particular. It’s a test to see the impacts of sets on performance.

That being said, this test was very poorly organized. I think ZOS achieved the goals of this test already. Sets have drastically worsened performance. Case closed. They could probably end it early.

In no case should there be so much uncertainty about what people can actually wear.

Why are we still beta testing a game that has been out for over a decade and had multiple betas to start, is the more important question for everyone—Vengeance enjoyers or not—to ask.

The best Vengeance was the first Vengeance test where it was routinely maxed at 3 bars and there were fights involving 300+ people at every turn. But the reality is that the population was only high that one test because players gave it a legitimate try and found they didn't like it, AND Zos provided golden pursuits that forced PVE players into Vengeance to give it a try as well. In future tests, many players concluded they didn't like it and they chose not to play, hence far less population in Vengeance.

Vengeance only works if the populations are popping, and as Zos has added in new things to try to make it more appealing, the population has stayed low and stagnant.

I think its just time to concede that while players are all for a ground-up rebuild of Cyrodil, this is not the direction they want Zos to go in.

Padding/skewing numbers too make it look desirable.

for any pvp system to work, you need population for sure, and part of the current problem is that there is usually barely enough pop to fill GH most days (during primetime there may be enough waiting in the GH queues though to almost poplock BR, but i still rarely see more than 2-3 bars in BR)

i wont fault them for trying to improve performance though

for me personally, ive grown to hate regular cyro over the years because its like 90% cheese now, back towards launch it was never this bad, everything is carried by sets (ball groups, bombers, gankers, 1vXers, you name it), and while i do applaud people for creating a good build, in reality it is not fun to play against for well basically anyone else not using another similar build with similar skill level

the vengeance we had before the proc set test i felt was ideal, it actually felt like the first time in 10 years that cyro actually felt balanced to play in which to me was more fun, nobody is an unkillable tank, nobody can just shrug off siege, tactics actually matter than just "ball up"

i think vengeance without sets would be good, both performance wise, and action wise, if it had more population, but i think its having a similar problem to BGs which is basically boiling down to lack of pvp population as a whole

Or, it's still a test environment that ZOS are adding back to slowly, in order to get as close to the original ruleset without tanking performance, like they said at the start of this.

You keep starting with the premise is a finished mode, it isn't.

I don't like it because I loose so many skills, including Persuade! That makes the dailies much more of a pain. And I am definitely a PvP wimp.
