Maybe I misunderstood Thieves guild quest only for 14 days?
Or I don't understand why quest starter in the crown store for The Codex Caper last only 14 days?
0smaucxjjk9b.png
Or it is some other like event quest and that continue of the Thieves Guild story line will stay?
I didn¨t find any information about limited time @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_Kevin

Yea, curious if this "Thieves Guild Sequel" is permanent or just a timed event

The devs have said that it is a permanent addition to the game, so it will be available to everyone from today and going forward. The Quest Starter is very likely just a miscoding in the Crown Store.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

There's a seasonal challenge to complete Daggerfall Thieves Guild quests that runs for the entire season (104 days), which would not be possible if it was limited to 14 days.

Even if the timer runs out, you can always go to the Daggerfall Wayshrine to accept the quest from there or go into Collections -> Stories -> Zone DLC -> Daggerfall Thieves Guild for an alternate start to the questline.

The Season One announcement article gives start and end dates for the High Seas event but only lists start dates for everything else.

I think that means the rest will be available at least until the end of the season, but I'm not sure about after that.

Some things included in the list (like the player experience updates) are obviously intended to be permanent. Others, like rumours and dynamic events are permanent systems but the specific ones currently available might only be for this season, but I'm not sure either way.

    The quests are permanent.

High Seas is an event, so that will have an end, similar to the Night Market

    That seems very plausible.

But wow - I hate the limited time content, it turns me away from the game! I was pretty excited for the thieves guild quests, the original thieves guild questline in Hew's Bane is my favorite, but I just can't really persuade myself to invest time in a game that does more and more limited time content.

Tbh me too, I just have less and less time for this game and my patience with glitches and bugs is not endless.
Maybe it is detail and misscoding but these details ...
And second this: the-gate-cluster in the start quest for second part of thieves guild ...

That's another reason I prefer permanent releases, it gives the developers time to fix unexpected bugs, and time for the crowds to die down so you can actually see what's happening.

I get that, but the perk of limited time (repeating) content is that everyone groups together to do it when it's available without it dying down completely, and the rewards can be better than permanent content. Ideally it's more like a repeating event/festival than a one-time event like the Writhing Wall.

A comparison would be how busy and universal the Night Market was versus how new zones drastically quiet down after 2+ months.

I don't care because to me, time limited is such a downside. It stresses me, it forces me to rearrange parts of my life to experience game content and avoid missing out. I want to be free to decide when to play - I don't have a lot of time in my everyday life, but sometines I get long holidays where I have plenty of time, and enjoy immersing myself in a game or book or cooking a lot or whatever.

The point is I want to be free to do that. I want to decide what to engage in.

Yes please @ZOS_Kevin can this be clarified?

Do you have to do the prelude quest to unlock the new daily quests in that area? (That's as far as I've gotten, and only on one character.) If you do, I can't imagine they'd lock it after only two weeks.

Just wanted to clarify that outside of High Seas, all of the content for Seqson One will stay permanently unlocked and accessible. We can dig into why it has an end date but I did want to provide clarification on that part.

The High Seas event will be something most similar to the Writhing Wall event.

It’ll be an instance (1-4 player) that will have a daily quest with it.

Just curious, what's with the focus on events? Are you guys seeing the feedback on wanting more permanent content? From what I can tell that High Seas event sounds great, I just wish it were something permanent.

I really dislike time-limited content because when content is packed with players is when it is least appealing to me.

I understand that many others feel differently, so it is fine by me if they try to encourage engagement with specific content at specific times via Golden Pursuits or whatever, but making areas completely time-limited really feels bad to me. I felt this way about the Night Market and I expect I will feel similarly about High Seas. I also missed Writhing Wall and various other small zone event quests which seems might never be coming back because I happened not to be playing while these were on, and it is a shame.

I find it odd that they would put development resources into creating areas and quests that many players will never get to see just because they weren't playing at the right time.

    I really don't know and don't understand.
One Chapter and One DLC was too much for some players... So there we have Seasons... And some player hate limited content.
I hate limited content too because I have less and less time to play the game.
And these glitches, bugs, badly made costumes (yes I will again complain about 400 gems dress because it doesn't fit the body, AGAIN) and accessories really annoying some people.

Hello All. To clear up any confusion on this, the quest starter you see here incorrectly has the timer on it. After the timer runs out, it'll remain a permanent fixture in the Crown Store and the quests will remain permanently available in the game. It is not a limited time event.

I must say that I am enjoying this new Thieves' Guild quest. I like how it is more grounded and immersive versus taking portals to disjointed places all over Tamriel. Characters have personalities and the struggles are more human, with the magical aspects in the background instead of the forefront of the conflict.
