Hi,
I really love this thieves guild questline. I enjoy a bit of mystery and it's great to connect with Quen again that's all im going to say. Hope you're all able to enjoy the game still in light of the sad news. I personally want to enjoy as much as i can of eso cos all those people we miss from eso staff have left a part of themselves in these eso stories. Im still, paying my subscription and sticking around. I hope yall stay as we all move into a new chapter. I feel there's still content to enjoy on our alts and such. Im still clearing zones and collecting things.
So back on topic how do yall feel about the thieves guild questline?

Members of the lion guard I helped before recognjse me: yay!
They are immediately upset that I am a thief even though they have no evidence of wrongdoing. Bringing information I might have overheard anywhere: 😭

Quen is really inconsistent with whether she remembers me or not, and I can't decide if it's intentional on the character's part (trying to convince people) or unintentional on the writer's part, where maybe some dialogue is different if you know Quen and the tone wasn't homogenised before it went live. It's much less egregious than other zones where characters remembering has been tacked on as an afterthought dialogue option.

The captain was mostly reasonable but made some comments where I directly wanted to backhand him with a gauntlet and remind him of who exactly was responsible for his feet still being on Tamrielic soil. I'm pretty sure that means he's doing well as a character.

ZOS won't give us Bard class so I'm scribbling songs for Nirn irl.

I’m enjoying the questline a lot even though I haven’t gotten very far into it. I have to say though that it’s been buggy. I hope it settles down a little as I get further into it.

First heist I did was an old one from the original thieves guild. Are there new heists? Does anyone know?

The heists are the same. Only new dailies are the Reacquisition missions in Daggerfall, and they're easy peasy "Go here, kill trash to loot object, then return" missions.

I love it. We need more grounded experiences and I loved seeing quen again and being a thief once more.

As a Breton lore enjoyer, I am happy that we got the see a significant amount of new Breton lore that was developed.

Context? What do you hate? The story, the gameplay, the fact that it is in Glenumbra, ...

I finished it and thought it was fine.

But once again we get three people who shouldn’t even share a campfire, let alone a quest, bickering their way toward dismantling yet another robe‑wearing book club.

It’s like the game designers believe the world can only be saved by people who actively dislike each other.

Overall I enjoyed it. Throughout the story I found myself engaged enough that I never felt any impulse to click through out of impatience. Had a few chuckles here and there, and I'll likely do it again on another character or two just to hear the dialog after choosing different reactions.

My only hangup (and it's a bit minor) was that I felt there was a bit of a disconnect with the epilogue and how it fit with the main story. But that may be because it's been so long since I played through the original Quen storyline.

I like the design of the HQ of this questline. And how it has been integrated into the environment visually. It just works.
The questline itself is fun so far. What I enjoy the most is the almost complete absence of "What are we doing again?" dialogue options and the more mature writing in regards of the thieves background business strategies.
The romance options took me by surprise, not in a negative sense. But I haven't picked them so I can't really tell you anything about those, I'm afraid.
I liked the riddles we've been met with in "that one location". They were simple, yes. Could have been more difficult in my opinion but a certain party in these forums might already be looking for another chance to open a thread to complain and I don't think the devs have the time and energy to deal with that or the mass tagging right now.

At least the riddles required me to pay attention rather than to just turn 3 levers or press 4 buttons in a row. The one riddle that involved me to actually "take action" was a nice surprise as for the past years there have been a bunch of riddles that could have had a similar answer and once I tried, I was met with failure. I'd really enjoy it if this specific form of player-environment-interaction was utilized more ingame.

I haven't finished the entire questline yet, I just made it far enough to grab my last missing fragment for the house.

If you are curious about where I am exactly: I just ran into a dead Skeever being cuddled by it's mourning offspring right next to a bear trap. If you know, you know. - No worries this is in no relation to any quest content.

On a last note: I'm convinced that a certain canine will be found rather rolling than walking once the entire playerbase finds out that one can feed him. Endlessly. That is all.

I finished it up on PC-NA. I'm almost done on PC-EU. I really enjoyed the quest chain. The bug that prevented people from opening the gate on the first day was a pain, but I figured out methods to get through before they made the hotfix. I also enjoyed the extra quest to head back to Hew's Bane if you had already done the original TG quests. That was a nice touch.

There are too many other players crammed into the instances. It isn't very fun or immersive when you are trying to sneak with 10 other players right next to you. It just makes me want to quickly click through any dialogue and finish the quest as fast as possible. The quests should be mostly a single player experience unless you choose to group for them.

Just not enjoyable the way it is.

I don't know. I really enjoyed watching ten people try and solve the Hew's Bane warehouse quest by trying to jump up boxes repeatedly ignoring the stairs up to the second level if they just would have looked harder. That in itself made me glad that it wasn't a solo instance.

What kind of things if I may ask? Is it sneaking around? But it's a Thieves' Guild questline, so that is expected.

Expected or not, I still find it frustrating and unenjoyable. There were a lot more of the elements I dislike than I expected.

I don't want to give specifics because the subject says no spoilers.

In most cases if you fail to be sneaky it won't affect the result. If you are frustrated that you get caught and removed from the area, just get some invisibility potions and walk past the guards (the lantern ones will require sneaking but not too much).

This is precisely why I haven't done anything with those stories other doing than the Codex Caper on a couple of characters to get access to the mission boards in the Daggerfall Thieves Den. I'm a lot spoiled because I did the story missions multiple times on PTS. But as soon as I saw the queuing to get at the gate lock on that first mission, those stories went onto the back burner for a while. I know how it turns out, so I'm not really missing anything, but having crowds of players doing the same thing I'm doing (or trying to do) is immersion-breaking in the extreme. It will be there later, so no rush.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

I just finished it and I also really enjoyed it. I liked the various callbacks if you did previous quests/zones, the puzzles, stealth and in general having to solve things with more than just "kill everything". Also, the sneak peak was fun.

Well I think I'm almost finished with it on my thief/dark brotherhood character, which is the only one I care about completing it on, so it's all fine.

Yes! It says something that it was such an unnatural way of speaking that I hadn't noticed the loss of "who are you again? And who am I? How do we know each other?"

The puzzles were good. The general attitude of "hey, keep a low profile, we don't want to be noticed" was excellent. Not everything has to be a big fight.

I finished all but the epilogue which I plan to complete today. Thankfully the last quest in the chain wasn't nearly as bad as the rest of them. It was more balanced with more normal gameplay and not just all sneaky puzzling content. I wish the whole chain had been that way.

I'm about 5 quests into it, I like it so far, I honestly expected a lot less but so far the writing has been great, I love the new characters, though when I heard it was a sequel to the OG, I was expecting more characters to return than just Quen (but since I'm not done I might be proven wrong)

Gameplay wise it's alright, I miss Hew's Bane (Loved the warm desert vibes it was giving, almost Egypt or Morocco like) It also has the same problems as the OG, I'll be doing a stealth mission trying to sneak around and suddenly a player with bright golden wings and a pet and companion just runs through the screen, but that's just normal MMO stuff

And like someone above said, a lot of going back and forth between recognizing me from earlier quests and acting like I'm brand new, which I understand because they probably wanted it to be open to new players too, but it is funny Quen treating me like I have to prove myself as a skilled sneak when I already did the entire TG questline in Hew's Bane.

Also, I like the new dialogue system (This is my first time doing up to date ESO content) I like being able to flirt with Quen, or ragebait the other npcs, or be sarcastic, it brings a lot of flavor to interactions that aren't typical MMO "yes, no, murderhobo" options

I mean its a thieves guild quest line...it would be pretty weird if there wasnt any sneaky stuff in there...besides, you can also just run and brute force through every quest without ever sneaking....

Wild Hunt plus invisibility potion was my second choice, that did work pretty well, far better than my sneaking :)
