Yvierry Estate Gate Issue

    Note that this spot has the same issue in that you MIGHT succeed in getting the lock to appear when you "Use" at the prompt, but it almost seems random whether it actually does so or not even if you have the prompt

    Idle speculation here, but I wonder if the reason the lock is in two locations at once is because, in the item data, the coordinates were specified but not the zone? If so, that would mean it is potentially trying to be in all zones at once; it's just that the location in Reaper's March/Willowgrove happens to be visible and not inside a mountain or underground.

    Tempers are running pretty high about all this, I was just in Willowgrove and someone got really annoyed at not being able to pick the lock right away, accused somebody of deliberately sitting on the lock to block it and apparently reported them in-game for trolling. :\

    Because there are groups of people doing just that. At least there was on Xbox NA last night. Saw another massive group at the gate today. So I didn't stick around to find out today.

    "Hey I know! Let's have a lock that literally everyone in the game will be trying to pick at the same time! And we'll do it during a calendar driven event where people have to do multiple repetitions for the achievements like the new Thieves Guild dailies, and every day the lock is broke is a day that people can't make progress!"

    Edit: Update: Got back in game and the fix worked perfectly. Done with the first quest now.

    I’m just sorry now that I won’t get to unlock a tree since I didn’t do the quest before the fix. 😢 🌳

    It is not players' responsibility to do ZOS work for them. They have QA department who is paid to ensure this doesn't happen. Yet, once again, it did happen.

    Some things can only be discovered with larger group interactions so pts testing is important

    They should redesign the quest to require a privately instanced key that was stolen and name it the Atronach key 🔐 xD.

    this wasnt the first time there has been a launch issue with something

    when greymoor launched, most of western skyrim (might have been with the underground area) was virtually unplayable with significant lag and crashing issues that took them approx 4 days to fix lol

    it is unfortunate though when something happens like this which ruins the launch experience though

    I didn't know I had to test the game before I play it, really... I believe I have done enough by supporting this game with a monthly sub for more than 10 years, and buying houses and collectibles during all this time. I have praised the devs when they did amazing things, but it is natural and helpful for the game to point out what doesn't work, and my tone reflected my frustration with a noticeable drop in quality we see for several years.

    Sometimes I do test stuff on the PTS, but that's not my job. Maybe I pay a sub because I want to be surprised and enjoy the novelty of a new chapter when it is polished. I really don't understand this negativity from the community. What are you actually defending here? It's our fault somehow? Has the estate lock showed up in Reaper's March by a player mistake? Was Solstice event/Wall our fault too? There are other bugs as well, like the quest inventory going empty during the new Glenumbra quests, things not activating properly. Often the game is not smooth, abilities don't fire in sync. There is a lot to fix, I am sure, but this content is what keeps the game going, it should be very well thought and tested. Obviously a lock was not meant to be accessed by hundreds of players at once, and someone should have thought of this when the quest was designed. Also, people have requested not once, but many times, to have quests with multiple solutions (especially with a stealth/rogue type of quest), so if instead of invisible walls, the designers would have added two more ways of entering the estate, this wouldn't have been a problem. But yeah, what do I know?

    Same boat.

    Devs, in future content, please include a quest requiring us to lockpick a tree.

    Since my main was half way through the questline by the time I discovered this feature, I started the questline on an alt just to unlock a tree.
