Doesn't take away from the fact that if you want to catch one of these, you're stuck waiting in a zone, doing nothing, for perhaps close to 30 minutes. Well, I read a book this morning while I was waiting. I suppose you can bop around from zone to zone, and eventually maybe figure out approximately when each one will start, but that's not great design. They could have had some type of opt-in announcement that lets you know when something's about to happen.

Along that same vein, they would also not occur in the same location on a timer.

I rushed to the Auridon one when I heard it had started. When I arrived, it was already over. Heard it would start again in 30 minutes. Left and didn't bother with it anymore for that evening.

Of course, one could idle around and do something else in that zone until the thing restarts. But some people only have 1 or 2 hours of free time to play per evening, and obviously want to "get things done" in that time, instead of idling around and waiting for whatever. I can live with 5 minutes respawn time (like with dolmens or world bosses), but half an hour is too much, especially since one doesn't know when exactly it will begin (unless one has seen the last one end).

A timer like in the Night Market would surely help - in the end I suspect the technical principle behind it isn't that different to how the skirmishes were timed anyway.

I've done all three now and I like all of them. First, they're short. Second, one involves horses, another one has a dog, and the third one has a neat twist at the end. That's enough for me lol.

The rewards are good too. Among other stuff, I got a dungeon weapon I didn't have in my sticker book, and also one of the new leads.

The only thing I don't like about them is the 30 minute period, and that there's no way to know when the next event will happen.

I just park a different character at all three spots and check to see which one is going on. If none of them has a giant group standing around, I go and do something else on another character for 10 minutes and then check again. This is great for lesser-used alts to make themselves more useful. I'm looking at you magicka necro that I refuse to play much anymore.

I got lucky and happened to be in Glenumbra twice while this was happening. I have yet to catch the other two, but I have not been waiting around for them.

Some general feedback about the one I did:

    - I was stuck in combat as soon as I engaged with the event, even between waves while everyone was running between objectives, which prevented swapping difficulty settings. Is this really necessary, especially since people can join partway through and still get credit?
    - I have no idea what was happening or why I was there, and there was no option to speak to the NPC during or after the event. I did however arrive once it had already started, so maybe there was something in the beginning I missed.
    - I know there are quite a lot of people doing these now, but it was still nowhere near as busy as an Alik'r dolmen yet felt suspiciously easy. I think these should scale a bit better to a large group. I wonder how they will scale to a small group/solo once everyone gets what they need and people are no longer doing them.
    - It was very easy to follow due to the big (ugly, but at least useful) green arrow over the NPCs' heads, and the icon on the map and compass was helpful too.
    - Some sort of timer similar to the skirmishes in Night Market has been suggested, and would be very helpful. Alternatively (and this would be my preference) simply make these spawn more often. They are very short and low-effort compared to skirmishes. I can't see why they need to be only every half hour.
    - I did not find it particularly fun or interesting. Felt like just another incursion with a new label tacked on it. I expect these will get old very quickly.

I actually can't say if it would matter or not. I'd assume all instances run on the same timer, because otherwise the game would have to keep track of different timers against a potential FLOOD of instances and I feel like that would cause performance issues. Because also things like Delve and WBs would all be on separate timers too if each instance has its own instead of the game overall just having a single universal timer.

It sounds like the NM had timers for something? Does anyone know if those differed between instances?

I can say with some certainty that it isn't the same start time for all instances. I was doing Stonefalls on PCEU earlier today and had a timer going for it. It started about 35 minutes after the previous one had finished. I had two other guildmates that zoned in when I told them it was starting, and they ended up in an instance of Stonefalls where the event was not happening. They had to wait another 5 minutes for that one to start.

The Auridon one is the shortest. It only last a few minutes. Stonefalls is medium and lasts 5-7 minutes, and Glenumbra is the longest and takes 7-12 minutes or so. How long exactly depends on how many people are there of course, but they're all easy and pretty quick. The hard part is catching one near when it's beginning. With the Auridon one being so short, you basically have to be waiting for it to start to be there in time.

Hmmm, I wonder if any addons made would then be able to use what API the game uses to track the time for each one in any given instance. If addon devs would have access to that part of the API anyway, it's very possible they couldn't, though I'm not sure why it would be blocked.

if theres a lot of people there, it really isnt too engaging, in all 3 ive done, there were so many people there most enemies were dying on spawn without me even needing to participate lol

like others have said in this thread, the problem i have with them is there is no icon on the map to show where it starts and no timer to show how long until the next event starts

I think solo players would have liked the same amount of work put behind it as the night market had. I have yet to see the other two but the Auridon I blinked and missed most of it. I personally would have liked to have engaged with the content, not blindly spammed hoping to get credit.
