Werewolf 1000 fury temp buff triggered via ult use can be problematic at times..

When transformed in combat, abilities generate Fury. At 1000 Fury, this ability turns into Enduring Rampage or Rampage, depending on if you rolled as a white or black fur werewolf.

This mechanic can be problematic when you want to drop werewolf form going into a town or city and not pick up a huge bounty and have guards chase you down, if you hit 1000 fury, and left it up a while [max fury glows are sweet visuals], forgot it was available, run near a town, ult to drop form, nothing happens but you are on autopilot so you run into town.. and then BAD things happen to you. Ha. [Note for years and years the ult worked as a werewolf toggle, using it to trigger the buff and disable it used as a toggle is tripping up some players.

How about not have the 1000 fury buff triggered on ult use? What if you tied it to.. say, 2 or 3 light attacks at 1000 fury, triggers the buff, or a single heavy attack while at 1000 fury. This way, at least you're definitely in combat when you trigger that buff. And now the ult returns to being just a werewolf form toggle.

Running around in Cyro is a pain (as I more often prefer to detransform and mount). But their reasoning was that this is losing control’ (rampage lol) and also + more importantly a way to prevent detransforming by accident while trying to utilize Rampage.

Not saying this is the best possible solution to that problem but I do understand some of their reasoning.

I personally feel the most in control of the Rampage ‘ult’ when triggering it as an ult as-is now though versus your suggestion of ‘hit a light attack, etc.’

I think Rampage is great the way it is. We have a reason to actually cast our Ultimate now.

Please don't change how Rampage is activated. If anything, I'd rather see a hotkey to drop form directly, so we can retain our Fury amount when transforming again.

Tying Rampage to two or three consecutive light attacks or something of the sort would be problematic in PvE and PvP, as it would reduce DPS and it would be unreliable to proc.

A hotkey would be nice but as of right now I’m sure is problematic with gamepad (or rather controller on console).

If they ran with light attacks to trigger the 1000 fury buff, could slip in a slider. Let the player pick 1 to say 3 light attacks to trigger it.

Or approach it the other way, a dedicated key to drop the werewolf form. Could we maybe just hit the synergy key bind to drop werewolf form only when in werewolf form, and no other synergies are available], as a backup, if the ult it going to be dual-mode use, a form toggle unless 1000 fury is available, then it stops being a toggle and just triggers the buff and denies leaving werewolf from, via ult use again. Until the buff expires.

At first consideration this should work moderately well at.. not dropping form in combat easily, but easily dropping form out of combat, to mount up, or enter a town or city and not score a huge bounty.

Dedicated way to drop form. Maybe change ult to ‘press for werewolf’ while rampage up and ‘hold (2 or more seconds)’ to drop. That way it could be functional on any platform and more experienced players could consistently perform this also (I.E. dedicated players will have vastly familiarized theirselves with this setting at a point).

A long press of the Ultimate button would work fantastic as a revert form hotkey. That would prevent people from accidentally reverting form via tapping the Ultimate button before Rampage is ready, and it is consistent with the idea of using the button that transforms you as the same button which transforms you back. Also, since players are usually out of the action when trying to manually revert form, a long press works perfectly in that scenario.

This is a clear solution. I was just thinking of that and have actually used such a thing in class-rework idea posts.

    • Press to activate the Ult/Rampage
    • Hold/"long press" to cancel transformation/revert form.

And for those curious, I play on console. This would not be that bad of a fix and would be heavily appreciated.

You can already revert form after you trigger rampage. You have to hold ult again for 2-3 seconds and then release. You will drop form without having to wait the 20seconds.

If any changes are made to Rampage, it needs to do something useful on cast. Right now we just do a big "RaWr", take a bunch of damage and then have to waste time recovering after wasting the GCD to RaWr. Not to mention how often it doesn't actually trigger when called for.

I discovered yesterday that if in in werewolf form and choose to fast travel to one of my guild members from the menu, I spawn in human form and if I enter werewolf I still got my werewolf ultimate ready to go so.

I think another Fear effect would be great! But, I dislike that you need to activate Rampage to get out of form if you have 1,000 Fury. It needs to be worked on so that holding the Ult button deactivates an active transformation while pressing it activates the current ult's "ult".
