PS5 Why am I having Werewolf problems?

Hearing that Werewolves have recently been given a revamp. I decided to drop my long term association with the Vampire in favour of the Werewolf. However I am now thinking that perhaps I jumped in a tad too soon. Perhaps I should have given them time to iron out all the problems.

Firstly I wasn't asked what colour I wanted my werewolf to be? Most of those that I've seen have been black, with red eyes. Where as mine is white, with strange, blue glowing body makings? Also I heard that the werewolf you were given would be the same gender as your character.

Although neither of these things come even close to be a real problem. When you consider how difficult it is to change from a character into a werewolf. Sometimes he changes, sometimes he doesn't. Then I get an on screen message telling me that a werewolf is required. Which is bad enough, but nowhere near as bad as changing to a werewolf, going up against a boss and promptly changing back to your previous character. Or about to enter a town etc and not being able to switch back to a regular character, quick enough!

Base color is ashen grey. Pack Leader morph is white. Berserker morph is black.

When Dynamic Encounters release, you will be able to earn skill styles that enable you to choose grey, white, or black regardless of your morph.

Werewolves now have sexual dimorphism, but it is very easy to miss. There were some screenshots in the feedback thread about werewolves a couple months ago. I’d suggest comparing screenshots online or having a known male werewolf stand next to a known female werewolf so you can spot them in game. It’s not super apparent unless you know what to look for.

I’ve also experienced glitchiness and delays with changing form. I think for me it’s going to be a matter of getting used to the timing. There’s no way to make it instantaneous, so knowledge of timing and advanced planning will be required to avoid issues in populated areas.

    Hi virtus753

Thanks for responding so quick and your info.

My choice was 'Pack Leader morph' which now explains the colour. Now Ill look forwaed to 'Dynamic Encounters'

    "Werewolves now have sexual dimorphism."

My assumption here was that a female would be a little smaller, or lighter built. Which, from what you are saying is incorrect.

    Cheers

So, the timer system for werewolves was changed. At base, it costs 100 Ultimate every 10 seconds to sustain form, but you can reduce this cost in several ways:
    • Putting points into Call of the Hunt can reduce the cost by 16% plus 16% for each werewolf or dire wolf in your group, up to a maximum of 80%. What this means is 16% plus 80% for a total of 96% cost reduction, or 4 Ultimate every 10 seconds, when you are in a group with 5+ werewolves or dire wolves, including yourself.
    • Using Insatiable Hunger on a corpse restores 15 Ultimate per tick for up to 5 ticks, restoring up to 75 Ultimate per corpse. Using Insatiable Hunger also pauses the timer for 12 seconds.
    • Using Rampage (the in-form Ultimate) pauses the drain for 20 seconds.
    • Light attacking or blocking an attack triggers Ultimate generation, generating 3 Ultimate per second.
    • Sourcing the Minor/Major Heroism buffs generates Ultimate.
    • The Salvation set reduces the drain by 33%. The Shapeshifter's Chain set reduces the drain by 15%. The Pack Leader's Bone Broth drink reduces the drain by 5%.
    • Any passives from your Class or Race which reduce Ultimate cost or generate Ultimate will help you sustain form. Nord, Imperial, Templar, Sorcerer, and Necromancer come to mind.
Always go into combat with more than 100 Ultimate (try to give yourself a buffer) unless there are already corpses nearby you can use to generate Ultimate quickly.

When Rampage is up (when you see the glowing markings and your Ultimate icon changes) you need to first activate it, wait a few seconds, then press your Ultimate button again to revert form. Don't be too close to towns before trying to revert form.

I believe the size of the model is the same. There is a slightly different fur distribution to suggest somewhat more (human) female anatomy. It is subtle.

The Dynamic Encounters should be out this week with Season One (July 8).

    Hi Erickson9610

Your info is amazing, though a tad deep. Did you work all this out for yourself or did you have insider information? Not that I really want an answer. I think I already have more than enough info on my plate with your seriously in depth info. However, just so you don't think I'm a complete nerd, I actually sussed for myself that using "Insatiable Hunger" must go some way to extend my presence as a werewolf.

Also I chose the "Pack Leader morph", for the two pack wolves. Because I thought I would need all the help I could get, as being a loner, I don't usually run with a pack myself. Little did I know that I was helping myself in more ways than one.

"Companions (to transform with)" I like the sound of that. My companion's a lizard, so it wouldn't be such a great leap forward to turn him into a werewolf.

I'm going to make a suggestion now, that although I haven't seen it yet, doesn't mean it isn't happening? That is werewolf and wolves only, large packs. If it isn't happening yet, it could be because werewolves are not welcome in dungeons?
