Are you tired of PvP getting your characters and gear nerfed?

I'm just tired of the never ending changes that destroy our builds, progress, and fun. So many people have left the game because of it. It's like ESO is perpetually unfinished and stuck in beta mode.

I wish I could fully express my resentment towards this unreflected attitude.

Whether unbalanced changes make it to live due to carelessness, lack of better knowledge, or as part of a sales strategy, it is absolutely necessary to make an effort towards the restoration of fair combat. It will always be statistically more likely that a single nerf is the economically sensible solution. If players get attached to broken tools within their first patch cycle, that is as much on them as it is on ZOS, but certainly not the fault of the players that ask for reasonable balancing.

It is absolutely feasible to have sets and abilities that are fair for PvP, while still being effective in PvE. PvE encounters can be freely scaled, without even touching player power. For that reason it is absurd to take PvE as the reference content for balance to begin with. I enjoy PvE and PvP, and both communities produce more than enough worthless feedback. But many people have developed a sense of entitlement to high perfomance/low effort options in PvE and it is really off-putting.

I can only strongly express, that I feel exactly the opposite way about this topic.

I do however agree with the sentiment that it is annoying when ZOS is unable to deliver fair and competitive balancing to begin with. I can not understand why they miss the mark so hard in so many instances, and why it always takes so much time to tweak a couple of numbers.

I cannot answer this poll. I have never lost a duel or PvP in Cyrodil. I am not saying I cannot be defeated. I just haven't been.
Probably because I only engage in fights I can win, but I do punch a good 400 levels above my weight.

It's impossible to be tired of a fictional situation. The poor PvE community that's been catered to hand and foot while the PvP community gets nothing are just victims apparently.

Honestly, I'm just tired of most builds in Cyro at the moment.

Everyone is unkillable for the most part, the ball groups are shield stacking on a level we really haven't seen before (and most are unkillable too).

The balance in PvP as a whole is just some of the worst I can remember.

It's a shame really because the game as a whole is awesome, the changes they have been making are awesome, but PvP seems like it is just a 180 (lets not talk about Vengence.... sigh).

I still log in and play every single day, PvP is fun don't get me wrong.. but slamming your face into a wall of unkillables and ball groups no matter where you do is getting old and I've had people stop logging in and running with us because of this.

I wish PvP could get some fresh eyes.. the direction just seems misaligned from the rest of ZoS direction.

this is actually why i prefer vengeance, playing in GH or blackreach just frustrates me because everyone is unkillable, but also can spam 20k+ dmg whips (due to 80% of the pvp pop being WW or DK right now)

the fighting in vengeance is much more satisfying because things are well, actually balanced there

for the thread OP, its a bit 50/50, there are stuff that is changed for both balance in pvp and balance in pve that usually inadvertently affecting the other

Not that I even agree with the sentiment of the thread, but if something is doing too much in PvP, why isn't it doing too much in PvE? Why are we demanding harder content, but having a meltdown when something that is subjectively over performing gets reigned in?

    Simple.

Player vs. Environment isn’t a strictly 1 entity against 1 entity scenario that something like Player vs. Player is.

Stats are different too between players and the “environment”. It’s why a cooldown burst set that overperforms in PvP may be a problem given the much smaller HP pool of players hitting the 100-0ing them from a single combo, but not against vet trial mobs with 300k+ HP standard or 20m+ hp bosses where the cooldown is a factor.

Also mobs aren’t people and are generally designed to be cannon fodder to fuel fantasy.

Nope. Because it doesn't work that way. Sets are nerfed because they are too OP. That symptom just shows the most in PvP because we are the players who know how to make strong builds.

Yes, just do away with greyhost & only have vengeance, this would fix all balance issues, if they don't like it then tough, adapt or leave, everything seems to get nerf due to imbalance of PvP so it's time zos went to their original plan & stop catering to the tiny proportion of the game.

Good to know you are fully on board for vengeance being forced on trials and dungeon content. ESO dies when the PvP community leaves.

The 300-500 that play PvP compared to rest of the community, you can only just fill greyhost, i'd call that the small minority for sure

Your assuption that only 300-500 people play Grey Host is wildly inaccurate. If you played PvP you'd know this already.

At primetime there are about 750 players per server in non-Vengeance Cyrodiil. Meanwhile at the same time there are about 10,000 players not in Cyrodiil. That is in keeping with the %s seen in most MMOs that have PvE and PvP.

While over the course of a month there will be a couple of thousand players who have played in Cyrodiil that also applies to non-Cyrodiil with tens of thousands of players playing each month. i.e Only around 5 - 10% of players play PvP exclusively, and not all of them play in Cyro.

How could someone who's not a ZOS employee know these numbers for certain?

I don't have to worry about meta gear sets in vengeance. I already have set overload with PVE, thanks ZoS!

You're entire premise is based upon a false belief and scenario that doesn't happen.

Sorry to break it to ya, but you ARE NOT a victim of the PvP player base. You just aren't. Learn to live with the changes that are made to over performing sets or don't. It's up to you. But making up fake scenarios to support your hatred of PvP doesn't work. ZOS has always released OP gear with new releases just to nerf it to the ground when the next update comes out. This is how it's worked for more than a decade. So whine to ZOS about this situation. It's not the PvP players creating this situation, it's ZOS.

Easy. ZOS doesn't have anyone who plays PvP with any regularity. Meanwhile, a substantial portion of the player base does PvP daily. It's those that participate in the activity that know whats going on, not those who don't.
