Just got back into the game. Thank you so much for the werewolf update and for making them strong.

However. I already know how this song and dance goes. It happens with everything fun.

The 1% elites here cry. And YOU devs listen to them. Then I cancel my subscription again.

How about trying something different this time? Buff other weak things. Try it. Players might be happy.

I’ll keep this short and I could care less what the 1% of forum lurkers here say you do not represent me and the 1,000’s of players who spend money. Us casuals.

I buy skins. Crowns. Packs. Homes. All of it.

But if you nerf werewolf? I’ll quit again. The money stops. Pretty simple.

Most of the casuals are the actual money. Not the top 1% playerbase.

When your active players drops from 15,000 down to 5,000 or whatever that’s a lot of money.

Get ZoS'd isn't a meme for nothing. Sadly if it is fun, you can kind of count on it being nerfed in time. Things haven't changed that much since you have been gone, in that aspect.

So how exactly does WW = "I win" in terms of PvE, then? Any more than any build over the years that's hit high DPS or been capable of doing extreme tanking or doing high heals? Like I'm pretty sure the entire point of getting stronger in PvE IS so you can "win", aka clear content like Dungeons.

There is a fairly large difference between dummy humping glory scores and performance in actual content. WW is pretty strong now, and synergizes well with the flavor of the month mythic. Melee dps are almost always quite hard to maximize unless you and the tank are real good about positioning. I've also been running into issues with keeping werewolf even up, maybe too much movement, or maybe the supports aren't supporting the right ways. Maybe I just haven't got gud at it yet. I don't think WW has ever been this fun though, more of a niche roleplaying thing.

Heavy attack builds are in a better spot, but still way behind most other builds using the one ring to rule them all, currently.

I agree that Werewolf should not be nerfed into uselessness. For many of us, it's the primary reason we play the game.

I wouldn't leave the game just because it might get nerfed, though. You can tell which players are "meta hopping" and which ones are practiced Werewolf players by how masterfully they play Werewolf this patch. By sticking with Werewolf even during the rough patches, you can become more skilled at the playstyle. You can make "off meta" setups work.

Besides, I'm confident that, following the pattern set by Dragonknight when it was balanced this update, Werewolf next update won't be drastically nerfed into uselessness. We'll get to see Werewolf and all of the Classes be updated to this new combat and visual standard. I don't think this would put Werewolf back into a state of relative uselessness, as some playstyles will always be natural counters to others.

The DK refresh is one of the reasons that made me leave the game.

They nerfed necromancers like hell for the past five years and ZOS told us to wait for winter 2027 to have out class ready, in the mean time, classes that are not being refreshes will suffers nerfs while refreshed classes will be playable and overpowered.

The next refresh is warden, the class I hate the most, especially since the infamous charm that was added when scribbing came out, and I don't want to be in the game to witness wardens, DK and werewolf nuking people while mine becomes more and more unplayable.

So as a necro main who got nerfed like hell, the game is unplayable, and ZOS needs to understand that nerfing players again and again will make people quit the game. That DK refresh made people quit pvp, and I saw it the two-three weeks I remained in the game after the patch.

Thats wrong thou, in all of online gaming, the whales generetate most of the income

"Whales spend significantly more money on games than casual players. While casuals make up the bulk of a game's download and active user base, a tiny fraction of players (often around 1–2%) known as whales generate 50–90% of all free-to-play (F2P) mobile and live-service revenue" there are studies on this.

Im also sick of seeing this 1% are toxic eltitist while 99% are casuals. There are far more variations then this, mostly toxic casuals who dabble in overworld think its split up into 99% and 1%

    @Tatdad Welcome back. <3

I also invite you to practice a bit more empathy towards others. Your "fun" is "I quit ESO" for others as of the current "balance" of the game happens. I also restarted ESO some months ago, I played for 2 years before subclassing was a thing. Now I've returned to play Arcanist and while it is competent in PvE content (which is kinda trivial anyway) I'm struggling a lot in PvP. It's insanely unbalanced, unfair and unfun.

And while it is true, that "Not everything is PvP" but it is an essential part of an MMO, as if I wanted to play against machine controlled enemies, there are way better single- and multiplayer games available to play.
    But this is an MMO.
    This means it has PvP.
This means ZOS is supposed to fix their stuff.
    They do not.

You can read tons of posts and comments about the topic, how ZOS's Factory of Imbalanced patches cripples the revelry their game is supposed to provide. I'm not 1% elite, I'm just an unlucky Imperial Battlemage trying to have a bit of an equal chance in competitive gameplay. And the DEVs actually does not listen, they received tons of feedbacks from earlier testing, but they did not care. So here we are.

So what you are saying is «if i cant be OP as f, i wont pay»? What do you think this is? Pay too win.. get some skills instead or change the difficulty to adventure if the illusion that you are powerfully is so important to instead of actually learn how to play the game. Its clear WW is not only a problem in pvp when it can actually solo trial bosses in pve. When it does get nerfed as it will be, blame it on ZOS that put overpowered things like this in the game in the first place. We can only hope that when ZOS balancing WW that they would actually do it right, and not do like they do with everything else and nerf it until its useless.

The funny thing is that the mentality of the OP and the mentality of the people he calls the "1% elites" are ultimately the same at this point. I'm starting to see that neither side really cares about fairness in ESO. The community is just much different these days unfortunately.

Werewolf is broken and annoying to fight, but people like OP will defend it as long as it makes them feel like a winner. At the same time even the sweatier players who call for werewolf to be nerfed will defend many of ESO's current issues and they will relentlessly pushback at any attempts to make PvP more accessible. In both cases it's a losers mentality and not the mentality of someone who wants a competitive and fair environment.

I guess it's to be expected that this is what the community would devolve into after almost a decade of serious imbalance. What's interesting is that on Xbox NA a lot of the original great players came from competitive first person shooters. They actually cared about fairness, avoiding cheese, and having the community grow. Every single one of those original great players quit way back in 2017 or before or they simply treat the game very casually if they still do play (as one should at this point). It’s not like they all switched to PC either, very few did and still quit soon after.

The "good" post 2017 crowd of PvPers is much different than that. They're much more build focused, they actually like all the ways they can outbuild others, and they like the power gap. They only care that they can fight outnumbered and delude themselves into thinking it's because it was all skill. So they will also defend the broken and inaccessible elements of current ESO PvP. These are people no one recognized in the game's better days.

Anyway, both crowds will kill what's left of PvP and ride it on the way to its grave. I wonder if the final days of Cyrodiil will be 20v20v20 werewolf battles or if it will be the 20 or so people left on the planet who still sweat the game trying to find each other on the entirely too large Cyrodiil map. They will simply be left wondering why they're the only ones left on the map after they've spent years arguing against fairness and accessibility.

Either way, I want one side to get their way out of spite at this point.

We should all play Vengeance if we want to be on even ground, even for PvE. But then, Vengeance is very much disliked for streamlining things. There's no real win when it comes to balancing. Someone somewhere will always say something is OP and needs to be nerfed because it does not fit their vision of 'ideal balance' for their gameplay.
