Ever since Update 50 dropped and the alternative PvP campaigns to Gray Host were removed in favor of Vengeance, a campaign almost no one asked for and practically no one is playing, the Gray Host queues during primetime have skyrocketed exactly as many players predicted.
But the problem is not just the length of the queues. The queues themselves are breaking at an alarming rate.
Right now, players may have to queue at 7 PM EST just to get into Cyrodiil around 9 PM EST. Sitting through a two-hour queue is already absurd, but having that queue randomly break after waiting over an hour is completely unacceptable. In my own group of friends that I PvP with, we have already had multiple people lose their queue after waiting for more than an hour, forcing them to requeue into an even larger queue and potentially wait another two hours just to play the game.
ZoS, if you are going to push through changes that a large portion of the PvP community clearly dislikes, remove campaign options, release a replacement campaign that feels like an absolute joke, and force everyone into a single overcrowded campaign, then at the very least have the decency to fix the queue system first.
Broken queues have been a problem for years. Everyone knows this. The PvP community has been dealing with it forever. But now, after Update 50, the issue is even worse because players no longer have meaningful alternatives. You created the conditions for Gray Host to become overloaded, and then left players stuck with the same broken queue system that has been failing for years.
If the plan is to funnel nearly everyone into one campaign, then the queue system cannot keep randomly breaking. That should be the bare minimum.
