What do you mean resubbed for a month to see whats up? ESO has no monthly fee for gameplay you don't need a sub to try vengeance.

People vote with their feet and tell you what they really want. I've been saying this for years. EVERYONE wants to play in an alliance-locked campaign with CP and no other shenanigans restricting sets, skills, abilities, etc. So why not make all campaigns alliance locked to begin with and call it a day?
I don't want alliance locking on every campaign. I play characters in all three alliances. But otherwise yes, who wants to strip away the ESO flavour from ESO pvp.

ZOS just keeps figuring out ways to convince people to log off. It sure doesn't seem like a very good business model to me.
Hi everyone! Updating the discussion: I just sank a load of hours into Vengeance. Yesterday I barely managed to sleep. Wow! This is so much fun! ESO is now a new game to me (I was doing only PvE for 12 years)

I recommend you play Vengeance as much as possible right now while there's still balance. Soon, due to queues in GH, strong players will start playing Vengeance more often. And I know for sure that a meta will emerge. There won't be any balance. The evil that's currently in GH will just move to Vengeance. But there is good news. Try to gain experience in PvP while you have the time. And as soon as you start feeling confident in PvP, you'll realise that Vengeance only limits you. Soon enough you'll be waiting in the GH queue yourself. PvP is like a drug. You always want more and stronger. And the most interesting thing is that over time you'll realise that what you once thought were 'broken builds' were just a lack of skill. Sure, there will still be issues with bug abuse and macroses usage by your opponents. But you'll also learn to use the 'mechanics of the game'. You'll build your own build, which others may well consider 'broken' too. I hope you have enough patience to gain enough experience in PvP.
Lmao why would strong players come to Venegance when they say they would rather boycott and queue for GH? What evil would come to Venegance if these strong players really do enter? Do you mean that GH players use lag switches and exploits?

Some use it (though I think mostly it's just strong players), some just play really well. Some will come with their Ballraid (which I also don't consider unbalanced, TESO is still an MMO after all). And they will come not because they want to play Venegance, but just because they don't want to queue in GH. But I think that'll be enough to ruin the experience for new PvP players. And all those restrictions in Revenge that are supposed to "balance" things won't help. The player who's been doing PvP for years will always be stronger than someone who's barely played PvP. And it's not about TESO. I haven't come across a single game with perfect PvP balance yet. So my advice to newcomers is to enjoy PvP while you still can.
Lol well at least Venegance is better balanced than live.
I don't think people are mad that they die in 4-20 seconds against a good player. They get mad that they are pulled into bombs, 1-shot like in CoD, and that their roleplay builds fail in Greyhost.
Skill gap is not evil and most well-adjusted people understand that

Context: I play since 2014; over 3k hours on my main alone. I never did PvP.
I was ever afraid of PvP. All I kept hearing was how broken builds would demolish the fun of us, noobs. So I never did PvP (only exception is PvE quests from the Mayhem and collecting sky shards in Cyrodiil and IC).
Vengeance is my chance of trying PvP. Everybody is on the same level. I will have the same odds as everybody else.
And I'm loving it!
I specially love the build management and how easy everything is to start doing and to understand. (For instance, the potion is endless; You equip a type of weapon and you are good to go).
Plus: Veterancy is awesome. I really like the rewards. And the progression matches Vengeance so nicely!
I would also like to appreciate the team behind these systems (Vengeance and Veterancy). Wow. You put such a great effort into this. And the result is amazing. Things are very polished (
UI, UX, the overall feel...). Awesome work!

They cannot fix GH performance without altering the ruleset. Be it Venegance or some other version of cut down HoTs, DoTs and procs. So what ruleset would you be happy with?
They cannot get the current version of GH to work. Nobody can. Every game that has tried battles on this scale have run into the same problem. They are forced to limit abilities in order to maintain performance.
ZOS are bringing in a medium sized map in the near future to allow for the kind of free-wheeling builds in GH but on a smaller scale, which will mean less of a performance loss.
They fixed Grey Host performance with a single maintenance before Mayhem events, then degraded it back down with one maintenance for years to accommodate the Mayhem events.
When they replaced the servers performance was better than it had ever been. So ZOS knows exactly what needs to be done to improve performance. They've done it too many times in the past to not know.
