Am I reading it correctly: 14 Hours for Patch Maintenance?

    When WoW released Patch 2.4 the downtime was measured in days, not hours.

    When Burning Crusade was launched it burned down the servers. I was there. It was hilarious.

    Not using multiple server pools to quasi-instantly switch between revisions is a monetary decision, not a technical decision.

    You have no idea what he back end infastructure looks like, what technical limits they are bound with because of XYZ reason. I'm sure if they could speed up maintenance all the engineers that have to work with it would have. I doubt they enjoy how long it takes to shut down, push, verify, etc.

    Perhaps at least they enjoy reading all the "maintenance too long" threads every time servers go down. I know I do.
