Permanent Vengeance update 50

Given that I have heard conflicting stories. Is it true that Vengeance will be the only campaign remaining?
If so, I'll be mourning the loss of my tanky Nightblade. Also, it's going to be a pain to do the PvE stuff with Vengeance loadouts.

Don't get me wrong, I like Vengeance every now and then. But if it's forced...

    No it isn't the only campaign.
    As someone who tested Vengeance, the PvE in Cyro is considerably easier.

    No, its not true. Vengeance and Grey Host (really wish they'd take this opportunity to get a new campaign name) will be running simultaneously. It was in one of the dev live streams.

    Don't get me wrong, I like Vengeance every now and then. But if it's forced...

    It won't be the only one, but they close 3 of the other campaigns. Blackreach, NoCP and Below 50 get removed and everyone gets forced into Grey Host to 200+ Queues, or you play Vengeance. If you want to play with friends in other alliances? To bad, Grey Host is Alliance locked, so you either play alone or you play Vengeance. Then there is the Veterancy System, either you play Grey Host and get less than half the rewards or you play Vengeance and get everything. Completely your choice though.

    What about digging up treasure maps with alts from other alliances, that'll only be possible in Vengeance?

    That was the point I tried to make. Of course its forced, not by removing the actual PvP, but by making it as unattractive as possible.

    "Actual PvP"? It's still PvP just with a different ruleset.

    As for forced, current Cyrodiil is a buggy, unbalanced, performance nightmare. ZOS have said they cannot fix the underlying performance issues without making sweeping changes to how things work. i.e. Vengeance.

    The current state of Cyrodiil is unappealing. It's population cap has been lowered and lowered to the point you can ride across the entire map and never see another player.

    I'm not a fan of Vengeance, I think there were better ways to address the performance issues, but I still find it more appealing than constant loadscreens, skills not firing, desyncs, massive fps drops, and unbalanced builds. Time will tell if others agree.

    The GH pop cap is 360 (120 per alliance). As we have seen from every Vengeance test thus far, the majority of the GH population does not play Vengeance. Many of them use Blackreach or BGs as a ‘waiting room’ while they wait for the GH queue to pop (especially now that you can’t start a queue from IC). They won’t have that option anymore.

    Without a proper waiting room, this incentivizes people to afk into a wall at base so they can stay in the zone, blocking others from getting in. Even without that, the GH regulars will not be happy if they’re squeezed out of their preferred mode of play by new people.

    Essentially if you can’t get into GH, then you’re forced into Vengeance. Some servers are quiet enough that that won’t be an issue, but more populated servers will cap the only non-Vengeance campaign.

    I realize the devs said that they’d consider opening more campaigns if the queues were bad enough to merit it, but they didn’t mention anything if we end up with a circumstance where GH is poplocked with a 100+ queue while Vengeance is perpetually at one bar. That still shows there is space for people to get into Cyrodiil… but the demand is not met at all.

    They seem to be assuming players who want to play Cyrodiil will play it in either mode and not care, but as we know there are a significant number of GH players who will not touch Vengeance with a ten foot pole.

    Doesn't look like it. Only Grey Host and Vengeance.
    I think this is by design, so people queueing for GH will have no choice but to wait for Vengeance. I guess you can queue up for Cyrodiil in IC as long as you have no telvar when you joining the queue.

    The Golden was on the U50 PTS Vengeance campaign and was completely interactable.

    We need a non faction locked CP enabled campaign like blackreach. We need this because most PvP players won't touch vengeance and Blackreach was a good activity while waiting for Grey Host queue to hit.

    I'm terrified of jumping in and out of vengeance campaigns. I'm afraid something might screw up my build or account while changing game modes. And I won't play vengeance under any circumstances.

    *sigh* Still ignoring facts? GH has a third the player cap of Vengeance. On the Gamepad UI the 3 bars are not aligned with PC. 1 Bar on PC = 0 on Gamepad. Pop locked on PC = 3 on Gamepad. This has been explained to you dozens of times. Get new material.

    Oh, and do I have to explain the difference between a snapshot and a long term trend too? How about instead of cherry picking and presenting out of context you actually engage to help make Vengeance better?

    Edit: Oh and not for nothing but the guild numbers there tell a more accurate story.

    The problem here is that Vengeance is being sold as “so many more people!”

    If Vengeance is only able to pull in 100 per alliance (aka 1 bar), when GH and BR were pulling in 100 per alliance (aka 3 bars), then what’s the improvement? Right now, at least the people in BR still play standard rules.

    Remember there was one time (the previous Vengeance test) where GH and Vengeance did coexist. And Vengeance was a ghost town then. Yeah, “1 bar for Vengeance” could mean as many as 100 people. It could also mean 2.

    There will be no way to play standard Cyrodiil without being Alliance-locked come Monday. If your PvP guild is EP and then your social guild buddy is doing a DC emp push, you say “glhf, because I literally can’t play with you”

    The problem with Vengeance is that it will always show fewer bars (even though the population per bar is higher) and no one wants to play an empty campaign.

    My pvp guild were not impressed by Vengeance and intend to continue playing in Grey Host.

    Will miss Blackreach though. Although it can be quiet, this can be useful.

    And while vengeance can host so many players and reduce queue times the PvP communities disappeared on several other servers that ain't PC NA.

    Great success. On some servers there is already no one left to play in Cyro.

    Which leads me to the thought that ZOS probably not even doesn't care about their PvP community,but they also doesn't even care about the communities outside of the US.

    You can edit in and put however much cope you like, I have a snap for every last day of the vengeance test side by side with greyhost and the only time they ever got a bar was for ep day one, meaning over 300 ep people, or people just switching to ep because there's no faction lock, were zerging the rest of the map and it was all red all the time. Hence why everyone came back over to Greyhost.

    Case in point, this is the first day of the greyhost/vengeance test.

    also as far as guild numbers go, Im not in any pvp guilds except my own meme guild of 4 people, I don't join pug guilds lol, what you're seeing from the guild numbers in vengeance is randoms from my 3 trading guilds.

    Not to mention most of my friends are pvpers and stop playing during vengeance tests, most didnt even know GH came back and yet GH was still full once ep got bored zerging an empty map.

    And nah Im not assisting in that snoozefest so the casuals can kill greyhost because they have a chip on their shoulder about pvp. I never asked for "vengeance", I get my vengeance by getting better at the game we've been playing for over a decade, not begging zos for casual mode on the forums so you can zerg down low pop factions all day. I'll take ballgroups and bombers any day over getting run down by a mob of people who aren't good at pve or pvp and demand everyone else come down to their level so they can finally pretend to be good at the game and have fun.

    ZOS need to do something about GH being faction locked if they´re only gonna have 2 campaigns open. A lot of players do not want to play Vengeance and a lot of use have multiple friend groups we want to play with. The "roleplay" aspect of GH with faction loyalty is a joke and serves zero purpose outside of "roleplaying". The "rewards" (if you can even call it rewards) are also a joke. Get rid of the 30 day faction lock or at least make it a 24-72 hour cooldown where you´re allowed to swap faction. Some people want to PvP and being stuck on a dominant faction for 30 days isn´t fun. @ZOS_Kevin Please do something about the faction lock in Greyhost if you´re only gonna allow 2 options for the entire playerbase. Another option would be to reduce the campaign duration and make GH a 7 day campaign, that way you´re not locked in for such an extensive amount of time.

    Uh no, get outta here with that. Faction lock in GH is the only reason why it is as populated as it is, as this helps keep it competitive. No one cares if you think its roleplay, its an MMO RPG, some of y'all need to remember that and play something else instead of trying to screw up the campaign the rest of us have been enjoying for 11 years and change. In fact Vengeance also probably would benefit from being faction locked.

    Faction lock has little to do with it being popular. If it was the case it wouldn´t have been the most popular campaign during times it wasn´t faction locked. It´s popular despite the lock, not because of it. Cope how much you like but it doesn´t make it more true.
