I don't see the purpose, it just turns enemies into damage sponges which is not enjoyable gameplay at, why do you do less damage to NPCs? isn't the more damage they deal enough?

Couldn’t someone who’s on normal difficulty just walk up and parse it down for you while you get the rewards?

For many enemies, especially when you're fighting multiple, it means you actually have to deal their stuns and special abilities. Like how in the Archive, the same enemies are much harder at higher Arcs (albeit, yes, a bit spongy).

The rewards aren't too beneficial for a boss, it's just bonus kill experience and gold. It would impact places like Spellscar the most.

I just want end of story baddies that have been built up over 40 hours of zone stories to not fall over when I sneeze at them. I love the stories in this game, but the lack of stakes in anything we do and the speed with which we kill Daedric princes.... Egh... It just kills it for me.

I imagine I'll do seasoned or master. Maybe vestige for the main story. But there's very much a point to the world having a little more resistance to us decimating everything we meet before they even voice their dialogue. Even on RP builds.

Lorewise most story bosses from the zone stories are not even on the tier of the Vestige, sure a Daedric Prince should be difficult, but most bosses aren't Daedric Prince tier, remember the Vestige is like the Nerevarine or the Last Dragonborn, by comparison most beings in the lore are literal fodder, the Prisoner as described by Sotha Sil are canonically among the mightiest beings in the world.

If the enemies just deal more damage, but die onehit, then they deal no damage at all, so they have to be tankier too.

That boss took a while to kill. I noticed you have all points in health so how do you do enough damage on a boss since your damage is scaled down in harder mode? Seems like it would take too much time to kill things. I haven't yet tanked on a dk so why im asking.

Great vid thanks for sharing and i hope you dont mind me asking those questions. Im genuinely curious since i have not participated in pts myself.

In this build I use some DoTs, a weapon with trait charged to give status effects, focused more on survival. Actually, since I'm in PTs due to lack of resources, I still need to tweak it quite a bit.

World leaders put a lot of pressure on this difficulty; every part of their strategy is valid.

I heard the point of my post flying over your head there...

It doesn't matter what level of power the boss is, if you play through a zone doing everything, you'll experience a story where a big baddie is built up to be a big threat, and when you finally get to them they die to light attacks.

Much though Dark Souls isn't fun for a lot of people (myself included), curb stomping everything you meet is also not fun for a lot of us. Everything be omes boring.

I understand you're saying the Vestige is almost god like in power, but what's the point in a hero's journey if everything boils down to "don't worry, god will be here soon to batter the baddie to a pulp in 3 seconds flat."

Not so. The Vestige always requires some mystical power-up to take on the big bad in the story, and needs a group to take them on in dungeons and trials. The Nerevarine and Dragonborn didn't need that, they had innate power.

The Vestige is just some run of the mill citizen who just happened to be in the right place at the right time to be used as a tool by every powerful entity in Nirn. The Nerevarine and Dragonborn made their own destinies, the Vestige is a messenger boy and lapdog for whichever Aedra, Daedra, King, or Queen decides they want to use them.

The reason they can take on so many tasks and come out on top, including wielding any relic they want without succumbing to its power or going mad, is because of that.

How do they not control their own destiny? They choose who they want to help. They aren't a tool. I mean, maybe that's how you roleplay your Vestige. But whether or not the Vestige helped in a particular incident will be left vague in future installments if it is addressed at all. As in all the other games, the player decides which quests are canon to that playthrough.

The Vestige's innate powers are the highest degree of skill at relic wielding that we've seen of any of the games and immortality. Those are pretty significant powers in verse. It's small wonder so many powerful figures want their help.

Really? When did I get the choice to help Molag? Or was I merely a puppet for the ambitions or Meridia? When do I get to smite down The Tribunal? It's not about roleplaying, I'm talking objectively. The Nerevarine for example chooses to fulfil the prophecies. The Vestige gets told where to go and what to do.

You could have skipped those quests. It would be nice to have more options but that's hardly unique to ESO.

You know you could of just ignored them quests or are you actually admitting that you had no idea that simply not doing them was an option? also let me remind you the Vestige defeated Ithelia, the Daedric Prince of Paths without any power-ups

The map is not used in the fight
The lantern is not used in the fight
The Sword is used to close portals not used to fight her
The Mirror is only used after the fight has ended

So what is this phantom power up that you speak of?

The Nerevarine had help from Vivec in the form of instructions on how to use Wraithguard, Sunder, and Keening to destroy the Heart of Lorkhan and weaken Dagoth Ur so he could be defeated. He did not have innate power; he (or she) may have been Nerevar reborn, but Nerevar was not some powerful being, just a warrior king who had help from Azura in the form of a magic ring that only he could wear. And if he (or she), in the form of our player character, had failed to defeat Dagoth Ur, then he (or she) would have been just another failed would-be Nerevarine.

I guess I'll never get it. When they come out with a mode for "be able to run around overland and not constantly attacked" I'll sign up for that.

Would be nice to out-level mob aggro. One of WoWs few good ideas.

At the very beginning of the game, you could! Also WoW didn't start that. The original EQ was that way, though sometimes a green would walk up and punch you once and leave if you were meditating and AFK :D

Speaking of overland mobs and aggro, I've been grumping lately about the way a mob can slow you down as soon as you've aggroed it, even if it never actually gets close to you. I could understand a mob being able to slow you down by attacking you, sort of like nipping at your heels and injuring your feet or legs so you can't run as fast, but all a mob has to do is look at you from 10 meters away and it's able to slow you down. This can be annoying at the best of times in overland zones, but it is beyond aggravating in the Night Market. It doesn't make any sense that a skeever could slow you down just by looking at you from 10 meters away without ever actually getting close enough to attack you, because in reality if someone were in that sort of scenario they would get a burst of adrenaline and run away faster, not struggle to get away as if they'd been hamstringed despite the aggroed animal never getting within 6 feet of them.

So what the heck am I running around doing random missions for? I should end the Three-Banners War, subjugate all of Tamriel and rule as God-Emperor to bring a thousand years of peace and prosperity. For those who worship me of course.
All others shall TREMBLE BEFORE MY POWER !!!
