Optional Vengeance Style builds for both PvE and PvP

The build system is one of ESO's biggest boons... and drawbacks

Many people, like me, love to create custom builds on the Elder Scrolls Online, using the various systems the game offers to create truly amazing characters and concepts.

... However, I wouldn't doubt a large chunk of the Playerbase would prefer if it didn't exist, and there's plenty of people who don't interact with it at all, causing their characters to be wildly less powerful than the strongest builds out there.

Most of the new players I meet on group finder and in random dungeons are either just vibing with their builds and get hated on for "holding the group back" by tryhards, or being forced to look up youtube guides just so they can play the content they love, like Trials or Dungeons, or even quests with out of place powerful enemies!

Some players might not understand what the build system is, due to not playing these types of games or maybe not understanding video games well in general but still loving the Elder Scrolls universe.

... But what if it didn't have to be like this? What if you could just select a build and run with it, maybe have the option to change the skills around as the Player wishes, but otherwise the stats and power of the build are all around solid? That way all that would matter for that player is combat skill, not theorycrafting skill.

Obviously, this would be an optional system, but having the option to not worry about your character much and focus on the game's amazing combat, lore, and mechanics, would be a wonderful thing to be included in the game.

Let me know what you guys think below, I think there's definitely a way to include this without messing with the game's current structure.

I will never play vengeance, in big part due to builds not being an option.

This system already exists, it's called content creators. It sucks all the fun out of the game.

Never get involved in a land war in Asia - it's one of the classic blunders!

    I vote 'Other'.

I would be more keen to vote 'I would use this mechanic' if the poll were referring to 'Template Builds' rather than 'Vengeance Style Builds'. Vengeance contains template builds, yes, but it also radically alters skills by removing morphs. Other systems like mundus, enchants and food/drink buffs are also absent at the moment. This is necessary in order to achieve much higher population caps and stable performance in Cyro, but I don't think it would be good for PvE. I frequently respec morphs depending on the context. For example, some morphs are better solo, while others are more useful when grouped.

Recently, there was a similar discussion, and I think that many points mentioned there apply here, like keeping those templates up to date with meta changes.

Overall, I think it could be beneficial to propose template builds in PvE. It could help new players learn how the build system works. It would also allow players who have very limited time to participate in harder content without sinking long hours into running the same dungeon over and over until their sticker book is full enough. Perhaps more players would feel confident joining group content if they knew that they were bringing a build that allowed them to fulfill their role.

Combat will never be balanced as long as Subclassing exists. It is an unbalanceable disaster. Everyone who likes to keep saying "There will always be a meta" needs to understand what a Dps cap is. There are armor and crit caps and other things. Zos needs to reinstitute a rules based combat system, stop the cherry picking with Subclass and start enforcing the rules. There is entirely too much dps in the game. No one should be able to cause this much damage. No one. It is absolutely destroying the fabric of the game.

Next patch pure classes will do even more damage than todays meta subclassing DDs.

Yea sure. I also wanna play at the world cup this year. So it would be great if they just lower the standards. Already looking forward for my next season at Real Madrid 👍🏻
