I enjoyed the questline, and really love the Purple Tomeshell reward pet!
There are a lot of wonderful magical effects, shiny purple vfx, etc., during the questline I wished were furnishings!

Tomeshell seriously considering becoming a freerunner:

Honestly, I’m doing this quest for the second time, and I wanted to share some of the disappointment I felt revisiting Sheogorath’s story.

Sheogorath is the god of madness. He represents one of the most tragic aspects of existence: the loss of control over one’s own mind, the distortion of reality, and psychological chaos taken to its extreme.

That’s why it was disappointing to see the character reduced almost entirely to childish cheese jokes, empty threats, and extremely predictable behavior. This is the Prince of Madness and Creativity: someone who should evoke unease, discomfort, and unpredictability.

What always made Sheogorath interesting was the fact that he was never just “funny.” He is cruel, manipulative, and deeply disturbing. He drives people insane for his own amusement, destroys lives, and twists minds into spirals of paranoia and suffering. There’s a dark and complex side to him that feels largely absent here.

Reducing such a rich character to “an old man who likes cheese” ends up feeling genuinely sad for people who know the franchise’s lore more deeply.

I would really like to see ZOS handle these characters with more care and depth, because sometimes it feels like the focus is more on turning iconic figures into simple memes than on telling truly memorable stories.

I'm replaying the Shivering Isles, and it's really sad to see how he's been flattened since then. We got to see multiple sides of him, including the genuinely heartbreaking moment before he turns into Jyggalag.

Even the base game's Mages Guild questline handled him better. He was plenty silly, but we got to see how that obfuscated how he was also cunning and manipulative.

I went into it in the main feedback thread, but it bears repeating. This feels like a first draft, written by someone who doesn't really understand or even like Sheogorath. He acts like an idiot, he complains endlessly about feeling unwell but isn't even slowed down, and it just makes the final quest's attempts to add pathos fall flat.

I was so excited when I saw we were getting more Sheogorath, but now I'm just glad I didn't actually wait for it to go live before playing it. It's a massive disappointment.
