I'm currently angry enough to move one to the tip-top of my list: I want to be able to disable other players' mount visual effects. I accidentally jumped off a cliff because someone's super-flashy "look at me!" radiant apex mount spawned in at the same time that I was mounting my plain-jane "let's not annoy other players" mount. My screen (3rd person, btw) glared out and I wasn't facing the direction I thought I was, but couldn't see that because of their mount effects. You want to flash-bomb other players? Fine. It's your crowns and spend 'em how you'd like. But give me the option to turn off that stuff because I definitely don't want to have to look at it. And while we're at it, how about the option to turn off other players' audio effects, too?
They're currently working on something to let people turn down the visual effects of not only other players' stuff but your own as well. No idea afaik of any estimated date for it to be implemented but it IS something they're hammering out.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom
Is there any way for us to get an update on stuff that's being looked at from this thread? Not looking for "this is stuff we're definitely going to address" but more just "these points are ones that we're considering looking into".

    1. Bug 1 - This may be niche, but it's annoying to keep resetting it: for the Mirrormoor Steed mount (LC Trifecta), if you assign it to a companion sometimes it just resets itself to the base chestnut pony. No particular trigger, and the companion often isn't unsummoned in between dismount/remount bugs. I just want Isobel to get to ride her glowy horse.

    3. Bug 3

    1. The difficulty of doing quests in group dungeons. I still avoid random daily dungeons because I don’t want to be forced to rush a dungeon quest.

    2. Some things don’t save in armory slots, like skill styles and costumes.

    3. Sometimes skills don’t fire, especially in high traffic areas.

    4. The inability to select your loading screen music.

I'd still like to see the Arcanist dismount bug fixed, but it seems like no one else cares.

Anyway, people do actually use the group finder and the issue reported here should be addressed: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/691033/group-finder-trial-role-switching-breaks-role-requirements-cannot-restore-original-counts

    1. Lag (PC NA, logging in from New England). Always hovering around 100 latency and sometimes going past that, which is pretty high for a multiplayer game. Edit: OK, writing this out has prompted me to read more about other people's experiences and it seems that ~100 is standard for a MMO? If so, then I guess disregard this pain point, I used to mostly play MOBAs and FPS where 100 is a lot.
    2. Having the option to save character appearance settings as presets that can applied later would be helpful.
    3. When playing in first person, many visual effects are very strong, bright, and obscure a significant portion of the screen. Maybe the upcoming VFX slider would help here?
    4. A new vampire rework (that addresses both the visuals and the skills) would be very desirable. As the new reworks for classes, weapons, and WW go live, the gap in quality between them and the vampire skill line grows. I've seen something about a 2026-2027 overhaul planned for it as well, but I'm not sure if it's true or just a rumor.

Your service is too old for disconnects of this nature to happen to players as often as it does.

No, it's not my connection. No, it's not my ISP. No, it's not my computer. No, it's not my router. No, it's not my gateway. This is on your end. Your service is the only service that disconnects me this frequently.

Yet another pain point that might or might not have been raised before, but highlighted with more mobile -- or less carefully placed -- enemies in the Night Market.

The pain point covers two issues with airborne enemies and AoEs.

First, it is almost impossible with the current UI to -- not just accurately, but at all -- place a ground AoE to target an airborne enemy like Plague of Crows or even Voidmothers.

More importantly though -- and this was a huge problem since Elsweyr -- it is impossible to see the enemy AoE indicators while targeting (or even just looking at) an elevated enemy, like a dragon perched up on a building or flying (which are two phases featuring rather high damage ground AoEs in abundance, too).

The only two ways I can imagine of mitigating it are either provide a somewhat top-down camera (significantly above the character so you look down even on elevated enemies), which would cause a lot of its own complications, not to mention essentially force its use in some scenarios; or a built-in combat minimap showing ground AoEs, though this won't assist targeting.

Possible future pain: I have read through some of the replies and see that some people feel the overland is too easy. It is possible that I am doing something wrong, but overland seems just right to me. I understand that there are parts of the game that should be a challenge, possibly even needing help to complete. As a solo player, I put up with that. But making the overland game into a time sink would destroy the game for me. There is so much of the game that involves just travelling: hunting for shards, scrying, fishing, finding lore books, treasure chests from maps, etc., etc., together with questlines that require a lot of wandering around (psijics, scribing, etc.). It is a whole part of the game that keeps some of us playing it. But making all of this significantly harder could make it no longer worth playing.

Actual present pains: too many provisioning recipes and no way of seeing what level they are without opening them; and having to go to six different workstations to find a furniture recipe.

The obnoxious amount of CC. It feels like every 2 seconds, I'm being stunned, staggered, knocked down, knocked back, pinned, interrupted or otherwise disabled. Blocking, dodging and breaking free from these effects depletes stamina very rapidly. It's almost a rarity to get off 2 skills in a row. And before you know, you're defensless standing in 10 stacks of AoE unable to break free. What is the obsession with preventing players from playing the game? How would it feel if you were coding the game and I unplugged your keyboard every 2 seconds?

Combat bug that does not allow attacks to go off properly especially in Night Market and IA, but it happens everywhere from time to time.
Mount bug, says your in combat even when you are not, stopping you from mounting.
Master writ bug not giving the style in the list even though you already know it preventing you from being able to craft the writ.
Dismount bug at bridges Stormhaven un particular.
Bug in IA that makes your abilities not work at all stops you from looting and makes you leave IA before you can go back and continue.

I think that what is particularly tedious about this is that it does not work in the real world. If you are stunned, or even pause, in the middle of an actual fight, you would just be dead.

    Top pain points:
    1. The red glow with Grim Focus. It is so out of place for my RP characters, especially when subclassing. I know it's old news, but very disappointing that the Malacath's Fury skill style didn't fix this; please release a skill style that does, or else just an option to have the glow be white or some neutral colour.
    2. Furnishing inventory: it would be awesome to be able to see what items I have in total, even if they are placed in a home rather than being in a chest, furnishing vault, or bank.
    3. Pet-themed furnishings: I'm excited to see a bunny hutch/chicken coop upcoming. It would be cool to have other options to make homes more pet-friendly.
    4. Animal environmental furnishings: Hiddenspring Cottage is my favourite home at this point because of the wandering animals. It would be amazing to have the option to add birds and small animals to other homes.
    5. Have all sections of armor dyeable - e.g. the purple bits on the Storm Lord styles or the pink bits on the Dibella's style.

Bug 1: This. This UI element on gamepad. The moment you leave a group, your session is cursed.

    467rlvur543c.png

Every time after you leave a group, whenever you de-summon an assistant or port into a new location (and sometimes randomly for no reason at all!) this broken group menu element appears, blocking over half the screen until you press start twice (but not too fast or it re-appears). Happens even with addons completely disabled and has been happening for several updates now. It's infuriating.

Bug 2: Stuck in combat ad infinitum

    Top Pain Points

Pain Point 1: What's with with half the armor having loincloths/tassets? And on light armor more often than not. Is there any chance we could opt out of those elements? So many amazing outfit ideas I've had to scrap because my character is either carrying around cookware tied to their belt or a gravity-defying, questionably-appropriate loincloth that reaches the boss two business days before I do.

Pain Point 2: Nerfing Tormentor into the ground to kill werewolf tanking (an already niche meme build) was completely unnecessary. Having to heavy-attack to taunt now is just sad. That used to be my favorite build.

Pain Point 3: Book furnishings are also difficult to manage in houses. I've collected well over 500 unique books and each book takes up a traditional furnishing slot. Hard to run a library. Though I do appreciate the cap on my particular house was effectively increased by 100 with the last update.

Pain Point 4: Speaking of book furnishing libraries, I'm only missing 4 books at this point. 1 of which is the Velothi Poem of Illumination (not Recitation, the luxury furnishing) added Update 14 (Morrowind - June 2017) to the housing crown vendor, then mysteriously removed. I have the crowns for it (1200), I'd happily buy it, but it's been unavailable for nearly a decade for no known reason.

HARD Agree on the Book Furnishings. It's the sole reason I stopped playing almost a year ago after working on a functional Lore Library for months.

    Top bugs/issues:

    1. Cyrodiil leaderboard not working properly: the last 2 months i disappeared from the cyrodiil leaderboard at some point and didnt show up again. Im not sure if I still got the rewards but it would be really annoying if not with 30 day campaigns.
    2. desynced attacks: this has been a problem since release and while I feel like its gotten better I still die from multiple casts of the same ability by the same player regularly. Abilities I can remember where this happened are snipe (ofc) and whip.
    3. snare while getting leaped: A player should not be slowed when being leaped by another player when he has snare immunity active.
    4. status effect meta: this is definitely a huge issue already and will become way worse for pvp after u50. Shattered paths signet is very overtuned and so is serpents disdain in combination with the new class masteries (especially warden and sorc). I fear this will make pvp unplayable if it goes live like that.
    5. getting stuck in cyrodiil keeps: i've got stuck into the floor after respawning/traveling in cyrodiil keeps a lot lately. I dont think this ever happened before. It's either because of some change you made or because of higher ping as I switched to NA server lately.

    Top pain points:

    1. Pulse ganking in pvp: There should not be a possibility to oneshot tanky players from range in pvp. Subclassing makes this even worse as they cant be killed at all when they just spam streak to run away.
    2. corrosive armor: I think this ability should just be removed entirely or reworked again. No ult should give both so much tankiness and this extreme kill potential. Make it god mode only and no damage and it will be fine.
    3. perma block tanks in pvp: Theres a cap for a lot of stuff in this game, why is there none for hp? While tanks serve their purpose in pve i don't see any purpose of allowing 40-50k hp perma block tanks in pve.
    4. grinding up utility/guild skill lines: I feel like especially scribing, scrying/excavation and psijic are really(!!) annoying to level up on multiple characters. I cant imagine this to be an important revenue stream for you and if it's not, reducing the grind would greatly increase QoL.
    5. customized search in guild traders: a feature that would let us search for multiple words at once (with"&" or ";" for example) would be a great addition as its really annoying to search for multiple things with the cooldown, especially in less filled traders.

One of the things that is giving me pain at the moment is body hair. I am of the philosophy that elves do not have body hair. Yet look at this guy...

    5xtzukwau8cu.jpg

He has hairier arms than me and I am part Italian. It would be nice to get a Skin for hairlessness, and reflect the true personal and ethnic diversity that is found in reality. It's actually kind of racist that every individual must have hairy bods.

I remember Everquest II excluded books from the object count, which seems reasonable as book are an avenue of access to playing these sorts of games. They also had player-written books! I created whole collections of poetry! Not mine, Shakespeare and people like that.
