I Don't LIke The Night Market Update

I am going to go out, and say I dislike the Night Market update a lot because almost all if not all of the Golden Pursuit objectives require gathering a group for the new zone, and fighting mobs that take hits like damage sponges, and hit like diesel trucks in a zone where Zone chat is mostly at zero, and being forced to join a Guild may be your only option of getting help from people.

What I'm really trying to say is I liked it better when there were updates where you can solo Golden Pursuits with some ease at least, and not be completely blocked off by raid strength bosses in the Night Market for example while also be ghosted when calling for help in Zone chat.

I think the devs did this Update to appease the PvPers complaining over Cyrodiil and Imperial City gankers and classes mostly. That's my honest opinion.

There are no guilds necessary. There's tons of groups in the group finder, it's literally an unprecedented amount of activity for that tool.

To use the group finder go to Open Main Menu> Activity Finder > Group Finder

The reason there's not a lot of people using zone chat is because they are in group chat, either with pickup groups or guild groups.

Only the skirmishes come close to "raid strength". The others are much weaker, and all bosses hit for significanly less than their dungeon/overland counterparts.

Not quite sure why you believe Cyrodiil has anything to do with this? This is a PvE update targeted at people who enjoy group content in PvE (and is even starting to grow in popularity with the casuals/soloists as they realize grouping can sometimes be fun too).

I am not sure why people keep saying there are no groups. Even on console PS/NA there's 15+ listings for Night Market even on weekday evenings and once you join one of them it takes hardly any time at all for it to fill up completely.

Nah. Incineration Beetles off the top of my head definitely harder in the market. Or at least feel the way lol

I've had a lot more fun running around in there with two friends than I ever did with a full raid group PUG, mainly because PUGs are full of people with wildly different objectives, and it's not really easy to convince them to wait around while you find some quest objective (especially since the quest objectives are so hard to find that they can take several minutes even though you know you're right on top of them).

That said, getting into a large PUG group hasn't been hard, at least during peak hours, and you can eventually get most everything you want to do done that way.

That's an issue for me since I'm a solo player as well as a Guildless player. I would have to send a Whisper to random players in the Night Market just to ask whether they are in a farming group for that kind of content, and that could eventually get tiring after a while.

Or you could just use the Group Finder and pick one with a similar goal. Or start one yourself in group finder if none of the descriptions match what you're looking for. The group finder hasn't seen so much traffic in ESO, ever. Wildly popular right now.

You can put LFG (looking for group) in the zone chat instead of whispering. Most groups that are not full will invite you along.

I used LFG in the zone at first because I forgot about the group finder. You get picked up sometimes, most of the time people are too busy fighting to check text chat.

Group finder is working very well. Groups fill up fast, unless they have a very vague title. If you put in a highly specific task name they fill quickly.

Trust me. It will change everything for you. You don't need to whisper anyone. You don't need to shout in zone chat. You don't need a guild or large friend group. Just use the group finder. There's tons of players just like you in it. You'll have a group in few minutes at a slow time and within seconds at prime time.

Did you read what he said? about using the Group finder? Theres always listings. You dont need a guild or need to whisper.

I have been running a lot of group finder made groups. It is fun. While i understand this new content does not include entirely solo friendly quests and overland zone but even developers they have said that they are testing new things.

Maybe when going into an event zone, ZOS can direct people to the group finder the first time they enter?

Use the group finder...it's really not that hard. Do you complain about trials? Veteran dungeons? These things take groups to complete.

I don't complain over Trials because I don't run Trials. They're not for me since they tend to last a long time, and can sometimes be too challenging. I have no problems with Veteran dungeons. I do them often, and I don't have to use the Group Finder for that. I just randomly Queue up for them with my Imperial Dragonknight Tank.

I'm not trying to sound whiney. At the time I wasn't sure how people were finding groups to get this content done. Now I do. Thank you.

To first establish the tribe you have to go round twice once for the boss then for the trader, these could have been (should be) combined.
.this put me off the update to start, has it shows a lack of thought by the developers.

As someone who has thought, just yesterday, that I'd give the game a chance again... uh, yeah. Night Market being intended for grouping is definitely discouraging and makes me kind of regret trying to get back into the game. Yes, I can(?) join a random group... but it really just throws a roadblock in front of the path I'm trying to travel to possibly reignite my love of the game. And that truly makes me wonder why it being intended for groups was ever even a thought the devs had. Making anti solo content in a game that has time and time again shown that most of the players are solo players is just wild and questionable. Especially if Zenimax is trying to draw in returning+new players, which I'd hope they would be.

From what I see there are barely any groups at this point as well, and I'd probably still be putting in extra work to successfully jump around to all the objectives I need to do for quests even while in one. And that's if I can even find a group that doesn't get delisted in under five minutes.

Ugh, really would have liked to see this being solo friendly yet challenging content that was engaging and fun.

The groups are being delisted because they are getting filled. Just make your own group if you don't want or can't join the existing groups.

How is it a problem? Once you join, it asks if you want to teleport to the instance where your group in (if you are in a different instance).

When you join a group there should be a pop up that asks if you want to port in the same zone (instance) as your group leader. Click whatever button is yes and it will teleport you to the instance without menu navigating.

I feel the same way about the PvP themed Golden Pursuits that have been released. I abhor PvP so I don't do them no matter what prizes they offer. At least it incentivizes me to not play the game which leaves more time for other games from other companies. Win/ win!

I like starting new characters. Every event I have been in over the years, it did not matter what level and gear you had to just participate. I have read all the info ZOS put out. I have watched multiple vids made about the Night Market. From what everything says, your character needs to be 50/160 with at least reasonably good gear or you will die early and often.

I don't care for any " Event " that caters Only to a specific requirement like this. Playing the game should be an enjoyable experience, not a forced march to max level or miss out on an event.

    IMHO

have to agree with the op on this. i hate the nm too. i really hate grouping for anything. so, for me, i just don't do this content.
