"Weak enemies" fragments are so frustrating.

I have been enjoying the Night Market overall. It's fun, it's challenging, and it's a different vibe than most of ESO. However, whoever decided that the drop rate on the weak enemies shard for each relic should be covered in mudcrabs! The RNG on them, considering how many adds there are, is abysmal. I've managed to get two across a week of grinding an hour or so every day, but they took days for each and I'm still working on the Parch one. And unfortunately, the system is built around those relics. I can't use the sand walls, meaning I'm frequently separated from my group. I can't do the dungeon without and thus I can't do the trial. I'm also locked out of the third wing of the house. It's beyond frustrating to feel progress is hard locked behind RNG.

Anyone got any suggestions on, barring a hotfix from ZoS, get those stupid things to drop? Do I need to go.full.dps (I've been group healing)? Do I need to solo adds? Do I need to just grind six hours a day? I'll be honest, this has soured my mood on a. Otherwise fun experience...

I got mine joining groups that were specifically doing the dailies. They usually killed a lot of weak enemies.

The Parch one was my nemesis. I finally went in on my "dps" Templar with BoL and just loitered by the door from the Plaza. Those two mobs on either side are fairly small, mostly cliffracers and that kind of trash.

Had Zerith with me and I'd pick away, run back into the Plaza if it got too hot, go back in pick away. At one point another solo player came in and we sorta teamed up (no official group, no communication) Two of us and two companions so we could make that little circle by the door. Splinter eventually dropped but it was a slog, for sure. Whoever decided those trash mobs should drop literally nothing needs a time out.

You need to loot the dead enemies so keep an eye out for the ones that are lootable so you dont miss it by accident...

I've had the same issue. Got all the argent keys, Got two of the relics. Cant find that weak enemies lamp fragment...

    This essentially is RNG-gating the dungeons/trial :|

I think this matter is compounded by a number of factors:

    - Soloing trash is a rather slow process (compared to previous 'farming' scenarios) due to the 'sponginess' of the enemies and the endless barrage of incoming CC.
    - Pugs tend to skip trash and use the pads - or death - to disengage.
    - Pugs tend to not move as a unit as people take different paths, stop at oddities/quest pickup or target objectives etc.

This leads to significantly fewer corpses per time spent 'farming' than one would be accustomed to and the chance that they might be scattered all over the place.

Given that the conversion of kills to 'lootable instances' seems to be pretty poor - in my experience as bad if not worse than the worst overland has to offer: Watchlings and Architons (without the Light of Arkthzand daily) this can lead to frustrating scenarios.

All I can suggest is that you either start your own pug in the finder stating the goal clearly ('Need Fragment from trash' or something along those lines) or you join a pug that is doing bosses for keys and ask politely if it would be OK to mow down the trash as the group moves from objective to objective (then keep an eye on the floor).

So far players - again in my experience - have been pretty amenable to polite requests. I have joined pugs to do argents/skirmish and they have been generally OK with doing something on the side - in my case helping with the boulders because for the life of me I can't make that puzzle 'click' in my head.

It's a toss up. I had all 3 of mine the first night. I have guildmates that are still missing one. So they are, of course, still unable to join in the dungeon bosses and the trial. Love the night market. This is bad design. This is where listening to feedback before it launches helps. People told Zos before it launched that this part of it sucked. But they did the usual Zos thing and kept right on trucking. Now people are locked out of doing guilds and groups for the dungeon and trial bosses.

In my exp even pugs that boss farm are killing so many ads and trash in the process that this should be quite fast?

This is something I hadn't really considered when it comes to the difficulty of the trash packs. The trash fragments were by far the easiest part of the whole thing for me but I starter Night Market immediately. Back in the beginning, everyone was killing trash so fights were abundant and trash were dispatched rather quickly and frequently. When you get 75 mobs done in a couple of minutes, the fragment rng isn't too bad.

But now I skip the trash as much as possible and so do most groups. They respawn quickly and don't drop anything for me anymore, so they are not worth doing. And I think the same seems to be true or most people still running the market. I had actually completely forgotten a fragment even drops from the trash.

I would suggest making groups for kill trash in particular in GF, since it's a daily, hopefully people will join you that also still need it.

What makes me wonder if this fragment drops for each player only one time and when you miss it (what can easily happen when you just die and end up somewhere else on the map...), then you will never get it again?

I have the same problem, by the way.

Doubt it...but its the same with antiq / mythic leads...your subjective perception is aöways that it never drops and you already killed the eny 500 times even if in reality its only 20 times and then it suddenly driäops, you move on amd forget it ever was an issue lol 😁

i did this on 4 accounts by now, on one of them i had terrible problems with the parch weak enemies splinter. it took me 8 hours farming in groups to get it. could be that i missed it on the floor, as others pointed out, it`s easy to bypass dead enemies when running around in big groups. then i mainly paid attention to the expected yellow glow around dead weak enemies and eventually got it from an add in the sellistrix encounter.

Another day. Another two hours grinding. No parch drop. I guess I'm either going to give up on the event or spend the whole eventv just killing mobs in the Parch.

@ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_GinaBruno never make the drop rate this low on an item necessary to progress again. This has ruined any fun I had doing this event.

That seems overly long, even for Parch. Not to be condescending but did you check your inventory and filter/search for "Splinter"?

Sadge. Next time you logon for the day, get the KIll 25/50/75 quest. Start a group finder stating it's for that quest. It won't help the RNG but it will make it much quicker.

If I did, I wouldn't keep running into wind walls following ball groups.

Does anyone know if loot is instanced? Like can someone else pick it up instead of me?
