Suggestion for Rare Motifs

Swindrel
Look up to this list:

Barbarian Motif: 60k-100k
Primal Motif:60k-110k
Ancient Elves: 110k - 140k
Daedric: 150k - 260k

Those prices were 50% lower before this week and I have atleast opened thousands of containers trying to get those and not a single drop of those rare motifs.
Now, bots and spammers are taking advantage of these drop rates as they get more buyers for their rare motif. It is because either they've given up looking for one or because the prices are really high. Because of these, Bot and spammers will have more customers to buy from their rare Motifs. Everyday, I get like 10 mails about these motifs for sale. Selling it for real money.

These prices + the nerfed drop rate is hurting legitimate players who don't exploit to obtain the items.

Suggestion 1a: Do this ZOS, you get a quest for that Rare motif. like Daedric for defeating a really hard daedric prince and a long quest journey and other rare motifs with unique quests. Isn't it that TES is best when it comes to quests journeys like in the previous TES Titles?
Suggestion 1b: Remove the motifs from the game, finish a really long specific quest for that craft style, after finishing that quest, you get to learn that crafting style.

Suggestion 2: TAKE OFF THE BOTS AND SPAMMERS. IMPROVE YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM. Have a separate team for clearing out this bot sellers and spammers.

Suggestion 3: PLAYERS, Have a common sense, these bots will steal your credit card info. DON'T BUY FROM THEM.

Suggestion 4: Put a Drop Cooldown, example: you get a rare motif like Daedric randomly, you get to have a long drop cooldown before you find another one. do this other rare motifs too like Barbarian, Primal, Ancient Elves and Imperial.

Suggestion 5: Buying it from an NPC Merchant, but buy it with Achievement Points.

Thanks for reading. I don't intend to have an argument as these are just suggestions.

personally, the power is with me, since lol like I will buy something cosmetic for that much. 6 months from now I'm sure it will be a different story, but that all depends on how the game develops. pretty much think of those items as like drugs right now, you buy them, you support TERRORISM! LOL

Well, i don't need a cooldown. I got not even one rare motif while leveling my 10 veteran ranks. Nice balance i guess. And making money with veteran rank 10 is impossible too because of the rapid item decay.

The cooldown could work if they returned the drop rate to what it was and make it so if you find one another of the rare motifs wouldnt drop for you for a day or so. will still keep them rare but a little easier to find. and will stop people from logging in and out to find them.

I also like the idea of learning a motif from a hard quest. make it so when you complete the quest you get the motif automatically learned. then gold sellers couldnt spam the quests just for the items and sell them as they will only be on the character who did the quest. or even make them account bound.

Solution: Don't buy it if you think the price is too high. The prices ARE too high - but then the only reason you would be in desperate need of a cosmetic motif would be that you, in turn, plan to make tons of money crafting gear with a rare motif. I'm not usually an advocate of an unfettered free market in the real world, but here I'm not sure that ZOS price-control measures are the appropriate solution.

Alternatively make the rare motifs buyable from NPC merchants. When the upcoming game content announced armour dyes a lot of people suggested being able to buy them using achievement points (a goal for the players and a good way to cut the gold sellers out of the equation. So why not do the same with the motif books. Gold sellers / bots wont ever get them as they wouldn't be able to earn the points. And everybody has a chance to get them, they just need to work for them !

The prices wouldn't bother me if this was all caused by normal players just playing the game, but it's not. The price inflation has been caused by exploiters, bots, and RMT'ers, which really sucks. I've got a vr10 and now a vr1 and I've never seen a primal, barbaric or daedric book and I opened everything I could along the way. Random loot is random, no problems there. Unfortunately now if I want something like a daedric book, all I can think is that it is tainted...

I read about a rather extreme solution that would kill this right away...make the books bind on pickup and account bound (you get a daedric book, all your characters on your account can craft that), no more farming them, no more RMT'ers taking advantage of their exploited stockpiles. That specific problem would be gone. Legitimate players might be hurt by this again, but there are plenty of other things to sell. Just a thought.
