A Suggestion for the new Daggerfall

Hi,

I have been taking a look at the new Daggerfall and like what I see. I haven't played the new Thieves Guild Questline because I don't want to spoil myself.
I have a suggestion to make that would make the new Daggerfall even better and since you have made adjustments, I think my idea is reasonable.

I am speaking of how crafting is done in Daggerfall. Sadly, some crafting stations are too far apart and the drop off location/return boxes are completely out of the way down at the harbor. Sure, you can do your crafting but it is too spread out. Over the years we have seen some excellent crafting areas like Leyawiin, Skingrad and so on and I would like Daggerfall to become better, not optimal, just better.

Here is how I would go about it:

first we take the Equipment Crafting Writs Board and put it next to the Consumable Crafting Writs Board

The 2 crafting stations that need another location are Alchemy and Woodworking because they are both down at the lumber mill. I really like the lumber mill! Keep those old crafting stations there and add new ones to the following locations:

Please add 1 Alchemy Station to the Ashtons Enchantments Shop next to the forge. You would either have to remove a cabinet and a basket for location 1:

Or for location 2 you would have to remove some barrels and sacks:

For the new Woodworking Station, I would put that inside the forge. There are 3 Clothing Stations in close proximity. 2 inside the forge and another inside Winvales Winsome Loom.
I would either remove 1 Clothing Station and put a Woodworking Station in its place:

Or remove this table and put the Woodworking station there:

Now for the last bit, which is pretty important. Please take all the turn in boxes from down at the harbor and put them next to the forge as the new drop off location. Some might say that the turn in boxes should be at the harbor because Daggerfall is a port city but this isn't alyways the case. Cities like Wayrest, Sentinel, Leyawiin and others are all port cities and don't have their drop off locations at the harbor, so it is not uncommon.

Once again, I don't want Daggerfall to become the best crafting area. i just want a better layout. With my suggestions, there is still a door to go through, which always takes time and the wayshrine is not close. Since now is the time the citiy gets an overhaul, I thought now might be the right time to make some more adjustments to make it feel even better. This looks like it is just moving around assets, so I hope it is not too difficult to do.

I like this suggestion. It would elevate Daggerfall. I mean they put a whole new mansion there. Rearranging a few assets shouldn't be the problem.

I don't see them moving the woodworking area simply due to it being in a huge sawmill. It makes sense where it is and maybe if they would just add the turn in boxes closer it would help a lot.

As I wrote in my post, there are 3 Clothing Stations in close proximity. 2 in the forge and 1 in the clothier shop nearby. So I don't see the problem with adding another Woodworking Station. The old Woodworking Station should stay in the lumber mill. I don't want it removed. I just want another added.
The lumber mill is still too far away from the rest of the other Crafting Stations up the hill.

The OP stated that he doesn't want the crafting stations in the lumber mill removed, just added new ones in a new location.
The whole town is getting a makeover. Why not go the extra mile and make it more convenient?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to it, I just don't see them doing it sadly.

TBF, Davon's Watch isn't much better. Crafting stations (and boards) are up near the gate, drop-off (and the cooking fire) are near the docks. The loop isn't quite as long as Daggerfall's, but it's also not horribly time-efficient. OTOH, I remember the feeling of accomplishment/progression when my mount was finally capable of sprinting from the docks to the Bank. Sometimes you take your wins where you can find them.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

I mean, why would anyone be opposed to it? It doesn't hurt anyone. It's just rearranging a few assets. I hope they take my suggestion to heart and do it but we will see.

There are several base game towns that have a crafting hub that is not ideal. This would be a chance to rectify at least one town (Daggerfall).

Can we make this happen? I don't think it's an unreasonable request and since the town is getting overhauled during this PTS, why not make this little extra effort?
