I know the necromancer rework is far away, I hope this gets considered when it comes.

Can we drop this necro corpse consumption thing, this is why the necromancer doesn’t feel very necroey, people play it only cause they like the idea of of a necromancer not that it’s actually good. This is a necromancer not a canibal or werewolf class. We need more raise dead/spirit/spectrals/ghosts. Especially spectre.

Make bone armour, frozen colossus, sacrificial bones, skeletal mage, spirit mender all spectrals/phantoms.

It’s not like the necromancer is walking around with bodies, it would make sense if he/she was summoning spectrals, phantoms and ghosts not making bones out of thin air.

    I agree necromancer in this game needs a lot of work as a class right down to itself conceptually, but I'm not really understanding how things like bones and skeletons don't make sense with it.

    Like skeletons in particular are the iconic necromancer thing from my experience. Like necromancers raise dead bodies in every setting I've ever seen them in IIRC.

    In TES flesh colossuses also are tied to necromancers explicitly in both the MQ and a Summerset delve quest.

    Summoning skeletons and zombies etc is a thing in tes, so that part does make sense. Consuming the soul energy from the bodies also imo makes sense and its in the lore that they steal souls from bodies and harness the energy for themselves. Necrotic energy and soul energy both. Idk necromancers are pretty messy beings, both in their lairs, on the battlefield and with themselves. The only reason I'd say could necromancer step away from it is because it seems clunky.

    I agree with you guys but what I was trying to say was, usually necromancers would be around bodies they can use or carry their own corpses on carts and not create them out of thin air. Making the summons appear as spectral or phantoms would make sense and feed into the necromancers ghostly aspect.

    Of cause the necromancer should be able to use the bodies of enemies or players that die or are dead around him. But it shouldn’t be able to make them out of thin air.

    Its certainly the class that needs more than just a brush up and they should invest the time to really overhaul it...

    We have been asking for a Necro refresh for years, and that class refresh order is an insult to us.

    We have the most nerfed and destroyed class in the game, and a class people paid for, and we can’t even use it because of how weak it is compared to other classes.

    When I see what happened to DK, and this class refresh order, and that PTS are not doing anything to fix this class, I feel like I am going to be forced out of the game, because I am tired of witnessing other classes being buffed while mine is remaining destroyed.

    I was shocked as well finding out the class that needs help the most was one of the last on the refresh order

    It would be cool if they differentiate player necromancer from most of the npc necromancers by giving us, the players, different source of power.

    Most npc's necromancers are taping into the powers of couldharbour, so it woul be great if player necromancer had a pact with soul cairn instead. More purple coloration, actual summoned (not raised) powerful undead, and soul manipulation as a fuel instead of corpses.
