You don't really have to interact with others to complete the tasks! You just need to be grouped!

If you are able to solo said content and would do everything if soloable... Well, you can do everything solo, just WHILE grouped.

For instance - I went to Alik'r where everyone types "X" in zone chat and someone invites them to their group. Once I joined the "dolmen group" I did my tasks: WBs, Foes, etc...

Would be nice of you to say in the dolmen group chat something like "I'm going XYZ please keep me in :)" - Most people will be ok with it. (And most people in dolmen groups never type anything, they are just there to grind).

You'll be able to complete the Golden Pursuit just like you are saying you would, just while being in a group with people that likely won't interact with you in the slightest.

You're welcome.

Thanks for this, I had forgotten about Alik'r grouping and I always forget that you don't actually have to do the same activities with the people you are grouped with.

Doesn't having a companion out counts as grouped anymore?

In this specific case it doesn't. It specifically states "grouped with at least 1 other player".

    Just tested it out

"defeat x world bosses while grouped" works with companions even if it states "with another player"

"complete x dungeons while grouped" & "kill x foes while grouped" don't work with a companion.

However, I can't tell if "grouped" or "with another player" is somehow affected by other players in joining the combat encounter. I highly doubt it and think it's just inconsistent wording.

I don't think so. I've done my 200 foes in Wrothgar while the rest of the group was in Alik'r.

The player does not even need to be logged in. Works fine if they are offline.

Thanks so its not like the event we had where those conditions applied.

In this particular instance the 'ruleset' seems to be quite permissive when it comes to meeting the condition so yes, you are correct.

Just want to say that you don't even have to fight for the 'kill X' ones, just be in close proximity to the group. I was at a dolmen with some of the people in the group I joined and was having trouble with my character not wanting to attack, yet I was still getting kills.

So, I unsummoned my companion and was on a horse for the next dolmen, and got several kills that way (I also wasn't at the computer when it started, was letting a cat in)

Ah yes, spontaneous grouping mechanism back again (when people either don't want to be, should not be or are not prepared to be 'grouped') ... my old friend.

If you absolutely despise grouping, queue for normal Fungal Grotto 1. Nobody will talk to you or expect you to talk, it'll take 5 minutes, and it will hit two of the pursuits (group dungeons, kill foes while grouped). The two bosses you kill (if everyone speedruns it) will also count toward the seasonal boss challenge.

For the undaunted pledge one, same deal. Take the one from Maj, queue for it, nobody will talk to you...etc.

Maybe ZOS is trying to get players to play in groups so they are ready for the Night Market which is from what I understand group content, and not designed to be completed solo.

I asked this question at the beginning of the year, and unless anything has changed since then, it seems to be mainly an open dungeon where people can just tag along with others, except for a few interiors that will be group content (both for 4 people as well as for 12 people). Not sure if the group instances are needed to get the main collectibles and unlock all housing rooms, though.

Don’t need to do the instances to unlock the house wings. The things to unlock the house wings are a requirement before you can do the instances.

It seems that you don’t need to be in a group with someone to count as being grouped for the worldboss one at least, I got a worldboss tick with no companion and 2 players around whilst I was not in a group. Did not try completely solo, but maybe this is a test for a Night Market golden pursuit.

Completly solo with Bastian spawned doesn't count. I've tried it yesterday.

Another option is to group with your alt account, if you have one.
