Tome challange with 1000 enemies are possible to do in group?
The OP seems to be taking this entirely too seriously. "Optimal" in their view is the old economist bit about there being no bills left on the sidewalk, but as soon as "optimal" enters the conversation, then it stops being entertainment and becomes a business. Are they playing to be entertained or are they playing to accumulate goodies which have no value outside of the game? He who has the most toys when the servers shut down is not the winner.

Yes. One also gets actually something out of the ressources collected, which are, duh, more ressources, so these are not a total loss. Not like some of the other things to do which are a time sink, (or the 1000 guys we need to kill in Wrothgar, that, only for tome points)Al_Ex_Andre wrote: »Without surveys in stock, I can imagine the ressources collecting is way too much work, indeed.
I'll have to go with "meh" on that. Because mounts were exceptionally slow as a new player (it got better), I found it faster to simply walk/run wherever I was going. And because there were resource nodes just right there in the open as I walked/ran by, it wasn't any great delay to stop to snag it and then continue on my way. I still do that most of the time. This week I picked up a challenge to harvest 15 Blacksmithing nodes on Tuesday morning (it's the only one I have this week). It's Thursday evening, I haven't used a single survey, have six nodes left on the fifth repetition, and I haven't gone more than a step or two out of my way other than walking/running to get to Hew's Bane daily locations rather than riding or wayshrining (critter extinction event also contributes to being dismounted). It's much slower and more effortful if you're used to always being mounted, but it's just business as usual if you aren't.

The harvesting challenges are actually the ones that are going the quickest for me. And I only used a survey once.

But if things that offer rewards are left undone, you are in fact missing out. In this case you are missing out a lot if you do just some of those tasks. That can not be the intention or then the design is really bad. Which at this moment is the case since these daily/weekly grind tasks takes too much time out of the real ESO content.
All I am asking is that they heavily reduce the need to complete same quest/task 5-6 times no matter what they are about. It is just unnecessary.

If we diligently do every challenge like it’s a job, will we complete our Tomes weeks before the season ends and not have to do any challenges at all until the end of the season? If this turns out to be the case, we don’t have to be so diligent in doing every single challenge every week. Time will tell!
Edited to add: For context, I am one of the people doing every single challenge every week because I want to see how soon before the end of the season I get done doing it this way. I have re-rolled two harder ones to two simpler ones that give less points so far, and I have encountered some duplicates and some that worked well together. For example, this week I had the shadowy Daedra one and the hard foes one. I finished them both in two separate IA runs, the first one only to Tho’at 1 and the second one to Tho’at 2. That second one might have done both, but that first time I just ran out of time and had to stop after the first one so I don’t know for sure.

My extremely rough math says that weekly challenges average out to about 2K Tome Points per week. The season runs for 14 weeks (noting that the last "week" is a couple of days), so figure that there will be roughly 25K+ Tome Points available through weekly challenges. If you're going to log in every day of the season, then the seasonal login challenge is worth another 1300-1400. The Anniversary Boxes challenge was worth 1500 I think. The creature extinction event in Hew's Bane, Gold Coast, and Wrothgar is worth 1000. There will probably be one or more challenges related to Night Market when it opens in a couple of weeks. No idea what else might be on tap for seasonal challenges, but expect something similar to Anniversary when we get to Zeal in June.
You will need a little over 31K Tome Points to buy everything on the free and Premium tiers, so ~33K to buy everything and have 2K to roll over to Season One. Don't know your preferences, but there are many things in the free and Premium tiers which I have no intention of buying and I expect that my primary task is going to be caution when it comes to exceeding that 2K roll-over.

Because some people don't do some of the challenges.
Trials for instance aren't run by all.
If you end up with 3 of those after you have used all your rerolls its a pain.
Then there's also the issue of bugged challenges. Do you want 3 of those that cannot be completed?

The ones that were bugged so they couldn’t be completed were pulled from the rotation over two weeks ago. You will not get them if you reroll, which was suggested as part of the fix.
They even pulled one that could be completed (Lava Queen) because the other two bosses weren’t counting.
They have not pulled the atros one because you can still kill flame and also air (just not storm), though it’s quite doable even killing flame ones alone.
For me they are way too easy. I'm having fun completing the tome wile i talk with my guildmates on discord but they end way too fast. It takes 1 hour... and for an endgame player after that there is little to do.
Night market will bring new content but i wish i had a way to grind more when i have time.

It's not that they are hard, it's that they are *boring* and repetitive! Yes easy to do that actually makes it worse because that makes them even more boring.
Less busy work, harder tasks would be far better.
I think they're about right, especially since you can carry challenges over to the next week. And if you want an easy week, re-roll for duplicates. Difficult right now because you can't use gold so it's easy to run out of re-rolls, but when you can use gold, you could try for duplicates.
They are boring. Killing a world boss with a dozen other players is nice. Killing that same boss 6 times is boring. I actually need the crafting mats, but 90 mats of one type again is boring.
I buy crowns because I like cosmetics, have the money to burn, and like digital goods because when I quit the game, I'm not going to have to pack them up and donate them.. But I haven't bought the premium tomes which aren't really expensive because tomes are boring.
I agree for the material grinding that it is to much, but 3 keeps in Cyrodiil is really not much, you can do it in less than 1 hour. 2 Arenas is okay too, did Maelstrom twice in 1 hour. Being forced to beat a specific boss 5 times is stupid too, I would agree to it, if it would be just 5 random bosses.
