Seasonal Reward for Kill 1,000 foes: Not getting credit for kills in Rkindaleft public dungeon

There is a Seasonal Challenge to "Kill 1,000 foes in the Gold Coast, Hew's Bane, or Wrothgar." Went to the the Rkindaleft public dungeon in Wrothgar. Did not get credit for any kills (and I killed hundreds of "foes" in the dungeon). Ported to a Wayshrine in Wrothgar and killed the first two "foe" I saw. Got credit for both. Credit for kills outside the Wrothgar public dungeon, but not inside the Wrothgar public dungeon. No joy.
Some folks in Zone chat say that public dungeons do not count for the "Challenge." If so, that information should have been included in the "Challenge" description.

✭Maw of Lorkhaj is in Reaper's March? I don't know of any trials based in the 3 Challenge Zones.
I'm curious if Maelstrom is going to count for kills, after it's patched.

Exactly the opposite: it’s confirmed to be a bug. Sub-zones are explicitly stated as being intended to count.0 -
MrCaptainPants✭✭✭Great. I just started killing things in Gold Coast delves and dungeons, and same thing. No kill credit. I don't think I'm gonna be able to kill 1000 random dire woves spread out over the Gold Coast land mass, even if they DO sometimes come in threes, lol. 🤔😁0 -

Personally, I'm just waiting for the bug fix since we have like 90 days to complete the challenge.

The dev update today specified the next incremental patch (April 20) for the fix.3
