So what's the deal with Bonus pages?

The Season Zero tome has two Bonus pages that don't seem to function any differently than if they had just been named Page 11 and Page 12.

In FO76, there's a similar system where the bonus pages differ inasmuch as the things there are repeatedly purchasable, but that doesn't seem to be the case here, which makes this very strange. What's the point of the bonus pages, or is there something yet to be revealed about them? Would be very cool to repeatedly purchase the Crown Crates towards the end of the season, especially since anyone tackling all the challenges consistently will have an excess of Tome Points that they can't carry forward.

I genuinely have no idea why there are bonus pages. At first, I thought they were stuff you could only get if you had the bonus tome but that's not the case. So, IDK why they aren't just page 11 and 12.

Bonus in the sense that they dont contain any of the seasonal core cosmetics but bonus stuff....probably so you still keep engaged in challenges after you have unlocked those so you keep population high and it doesnt fall off towards the end of a season...

I think the idea is to set the expectation that a tome will have 10 pages and then may or may not have some unknown number of bonus pages which unlock together.

Or maybe they just can't count above 10, who knows.

Hmm, maybe. The furnishing bundle on the first bonus page includes new stuff, so I'm a bit skeptical that was the intent.

Without any one-off collectibles, it feels like maybe this was originally intended to accommodate repeatable purchases. And then maybe they either forgot or changed their minds. :|

Unlike the other pages, which unlock one at a time, both bonus pages should unlock once you hit 20K points earned. That's the only difference that I've been able to see. The rewards are mostly different, too, which is probably why "bonus." EDIT: I'm not sure that it's a direct comparison, but the rewards on the bonus pages are more akin to the old end-of-month login rewards (currencies and such). They're things that anyone who's been playing for a while can probably take-or-leave, but if someone wanted to chase the Tome Points to get to them, then they're probably worth buying.

I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Overwatch does this too. The actual battlepass is 80 levels. And then you have 100 levels of extra which awards titles etc.

Those bonus pages are basically extra's for people who actively grind out every challenge and a 100 percent bonus for people who bought the tome because then there is no time limit.

It wouldn't surprise me if what happened was while designing the system someone said "other season passes have bonus pages at the end, ours should have bonus pages" so they re-named the last 2 pages and called it done.

Typically bonus pages are beyond the main rewards of pass. It’s usually just extras but no big rewards.

So, just a bonus but not the core of what is being offered. Normally this means not to expect mounts or outfits on those pages or feel stressed about reaching them.

I don't think that 76 unlimited(if you can grind enough) bonus page rewards system could really work here since we have no repeatable challenges. Would also be a guaranteed source of complaints due to the RNG involved with the challenges/difference in point rewards.

I see why they’re separate from the others (different items on offer, and they unlock together).

That said, I wish they’d rename them. Or rename the bonus that’s unlocked with premium+bonus tier. I’ve seen multiple people thinking they need to get the bonus tier of the paid Tome to unlock the items on the bonus pages. If that association was unintentional, it can (and should) be corrected. Incentivizing people to pay for advertised extras is one thing; if that’s happening due to misleading equivocation (even unintentional), I think it’s an issue to be addressed.

They're basically there for anyone who's farmed out and purchased every reward, but has tome points leftover. The tome has to have an end point that's accommodating towards players who enter the game mid season. If they can't make it to the bonus pages they aren't surprised or disappointed. But you just know players who started at the beginning will go on and on about those extra points with nowhere to spend them.

I don’t know that I am a typical player, but having used up a bunch of my caches on my PS account, I got to those two bonus pages with 7,663 Tome points available and only 2,870 points of items left unclaimed on the free track. I was hoping that I could buy multiples of those boxes of different currencies like Archival Fortunes or Undaunted Keys or maybe more trade bars… I am so spread thin across all three platforms, I really could have used those!

I understand it’s not easy to strike a balance of rewards to make available for those who grind and those who have less time.
But are there cons to being able to spend those not-carry-over-able points on other game currencies?

In the FO76 example, the second bonus page requires getting to rank 150, but the grind to reach it for the opportunity to get a small amount of the equivalent of Undaunted Keys, Crowns, Trade Bars, Gold, or Archival Fortunes feels worth it. I’ve only reached 150 twice, but sadly only had enough tickets to get a couple of things by the time I got there.

That doesn't seem to be how our bonus pages are, unfortunately. There are some really high value items on the bonus pages here: 6 crown crates, writ vouchers, transmutes, the Julianos stained glass windows.. Those are really desirable rewards imo.

Would have been more fair if there were a couple of crown crates and another stack of writ vouchers earlier. That way we'd still be generously rewarded for grinding it out, but those with less time can also get some of it.

I have another question in response to yours:
why is there no one from the team, like forum moderators, helping players with all these questions? That’s what I really don’t understand.
ZOS creates a new system, and there are so many questions about it, yet there’s no one helping players. Amazing.

Unless you’re having trouble buying it. In that case, I’ve seen 2 or 3 team members explain what we can do to purchase the content: "try this, try that...."
But for simple questions? Nope. Zero, no support in the forums at all.
