Got an email 3 Days ago and someone tried to hack my account. (My account was then locked to protect it )Followed all the steps to verify that is indeed my account, since I not log in I was just curious if there was an update to the ticket 260401-002019.

    I replied to the email but I don't think its been picked up or updated yet. still cant log in. well im here on the forums. Account still locked though

    I have never heard of CS contacting a player to say their account was locked. What sort of information were they looking to verify?

    This sounds like a typical phishing scam e-mail to compromise and account.
    (Math before coffee, except after 3, is not for me)

    I got the email from the official ESO_Help@helpmail.elderscrollsonline.com and a ticket number

    Did the email say someone tried to hack your account? How do they know?

    Yea said multiple attempts and for safety account was locked and to verify/ change password etc etc . Did all that the day I got the email on the 31st

    I did make a NEW ticket and submitted it.. Hopefully won't take another week for a response. I am unable to check ticket status or anything since I can not log in.

    Did you try to log in after receiving the initial email, to verify that your account was actually locked, before you followed any instructions it gave for verifying that it's your account?

    As @ganzaeso said, emails which claim that your account has been locked and that you need to follow their instructions to verify that it's your account are almost always-- if not always-- scam phishing attempts trying to trick you into emailing your account credentials to the scammers or clicking a link to go to some website where you're asked to log in with your account credentials, either of which simply provides your account credentials to them and allows them to access your account.

    The initial email might look legitimate, but email addresses can be spoofed to try to trick you.

    Yes I tried to log in and account is locked. I did change the password and was able to update it that way and submitted a new ticket. Yet no response

    Don't make new tickets. That just starts the process all over again from scratch.

    @ZOS_Kevin any chance I can get a follow up to this ticket? 260406-001835 I've done everything as far as updating account info and verifying .. Missing this new event. Just would like to log in ! thanks again

    Ty for the Information. but this whole process has been going on for 10 days now with just automated responses. I've only got 1 response from my ticket.
