Here's the descriptions for them from ESO Hub.

The Glittering Goad (Patron: Tachien): Wealth-driven meritocrats who control most auctions and merchant stands. Power is earned through coin, contracts, and influence, anyone can rise, if they can afford it.

The Ruckus (Patron: Kharakhal Moon-Eye): Enforcers who rule through strength and intimidation. They demand a cut of all business in exchange for protection, seeking to reclaim dominance after their district fell to darkness.

The Thousand Eyes (Patron: Molto the Whisperer): An ancient collective of the overlooked and insignificant. They wield power through numbers, secrets, and information gathered from the shadows of the Market.

Greedy materialists don't appeal to me and don't fit my player character.

Racketeering brutes don't appeal to me and don't fit my player character.

Insignificant and overlooked people banding together in huge numbers don't appeal to me and don't fit my player character either (I'm beginning to wonder if I still fit this game's target group?), but at least the part about information trade and secrets sounds interesting. So I'll go for that.

Generally, I wonder: Do many people totally feel like their player character fits into any of these categories? I can see some people liking "underdog" stories, but how many play a superficial, gold-hungry type (except for a few Hlaalu perhaps) or a brute into protection racketeering?

Also, don't those groups sound, well, a bit clichéd? (How it'll actually turn out, I don't know yet, of course - haven't been active on PTS this cycle.)

I'm going to have to see which dye I prefer: Thousand Eyes Ichor or Glittering Gold.

If both or neither appeal, then Thousand Eyes because that's probably better than greedy capitalists wealth-driven meritocrats.

None of the lore/characterization behind any of the three factions fits any of my characters; none of them, except maybe one, would in-character want to join any of them, so I'm picking based just on dye and other rewards.

I saw the house section for Glittering Goad......... and it is SO SHINY. I don't see any real reason to pick one over the other, other than the wing of the house you'll unlock. Glittering Goad gives you shiny golden floors of magnificence. The other two are dingy/cave and basic.... gimme dat GOLD.

@Leighlaa the wing unlocks have nothing to do with your faction choice— they’re unlocked by collecting fragments via killing bosses and purchasing in the faction vendor (who has one for each) to make artifacts. You can get all artifacts in one season of Night Market.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Ok I definitely misunderstood the guide I read then! (or it was inaccurate, which considering the source, may be the reason). MUCH APPRECIATED. Well, I won't change my vote because I really like trade/making gold *anyways*, but ty for the clarification @Soarora !

    The Thousand Eyes
My favorite faction of the three is definitely the Thousand Eyes by a long way. I like eccentric factions and I feel they got the most interesting lore/worldbuilding. I like the added implications that "lesser" daedra still have personalities and more to them than previously thought (yes, some scamps/banekin/etc speak and yes we have situations like Arox, though he was a titan before a daedrat but before this they were considered more rare). Thousand Eyes feels the most explored and fleshed out narratively and character wise.

So, for me personally, both in and ooc, most of my characters fit best with the Thousand Eyes. My main is an agent of the Eyes of the Queen and Thousand Eyes similarly is a faction of knowledge and spywork so it was a natural fit. One of my healers likes the communal vibe of Thousand Eyes. I do generally like this is a faction of both rogues and scholars and a lot of the npcs chatter about interesting things like discussing the language barrier between daedra that cannot easily or traditionally communicate and their mortal helpers. Lots of really cool stuff here imo and I recommend exploring the camps/side npcs here especially.

Glittering Goad is the faction I find the second most interesting. Less so for the on the surface theme but I do find the idea that they find the Night Market, which is extremely dangerous and mysterious, to be nothing but a party and a game. I have a few characters who either wouldn't take the danger seriously or are similarly aesthetic driven and would like to show off in the Night Market (one being my ic battlegrounds gladiator) so I enjoy this faction for what it does for some of my characters.

The Ruckus is my least favorite faction, and while I find things about them fun/interesting I do feel they are the worst written. They were actually the ones written to be the underdog faction, but I feel Thousand Eyes does that better overall. They also were written to be the non-daedric faction and pro-mortal for those who had qualms about working with daedra, but they also have a fair bit of daedra amongst their faction so their revolution/anti-daedra doesn't get the mileage it should imo. I probably have the least characters in this faction in character, but one of them has issues working with daedra but wants to participate in the Night Market and the other wants to cause chaos to gain power while the others are distracted.

The OP not color coding these hurts my soul a little bit haha.
But I'm picking the Ruckus as it fits the character I'll be playing through the Night market with as the most. He wouldn't work with daedra, if he had another choice.

I voted none. For myself at least, this is probably the worst part of the new adventure zone-the factions. Understand, I don't want this to sound mean or condescending, but I do want to give honest feedback. I have NO interest in the petty squables between different groups of outcasts vying for power in an outcast daedric plane. In that regard, it's a big immersion breaker because outside of the rewards, I have no in-game motivation to answer the question "why am I here?". I can only speak for myself, but I would have preferred something more like (Heroes of Tamriel/Daedric Cultists/Independents"Freelancers") as the three options. They are broad strokes that allow for roleplay value. Am I here to bring back power for my original home game faction or homeland back home? Do I worship a daedric prince or seek their support? Or do I see myself as an independent "rift walker" esque rogue, wandering the outer realms like Yagrum Bagarn from Morrowind, or merely in it for myself? The current planned factions are too narrow and too local in focus for me to actually have an interest in them as there's no connection to what my character's goals are. I really think the factions need to be completely redone or this might flop. No offense, but I think you just missed the mark here designing these factions. As it is, I'll step foot in the zone, but I have no care or motivation to work for any of these beings/factions, and without a lore or immersive reason to be there, I think you'll get lack of interest or burnout really fast.

Can I ask a question, can we only play with people on our faction?

I have various guilds and groups interested in doing this content, however, I am not in a position to force others to go along with the faction i choose.

Do I have to pick the option that fits the group I wish to play with most and just forget about running with other friends, or does faction not relate to actual game play?

Faction choice in the Night Market does not prevent you from playing with others on different factions.

This. Plus, in yesterday's Season Direct I've seen some Night Market rewards and a golden skin caught my eye - I don't know how to get it, but it fits with Glittering Goad and I don't want to lose it by choosing the wrong faction (which I don't know yet if it is a requirement or not).

I'll probably go for the Thousand Eyes first for the monster helm and the novelty of having an emerald green dye. Though I am tempted by the rewards of the other two factions. My decisions might be swayed later depending on how I want to change up my build/whether any other changes occur before the event goes live.

So far it somehow looks like most people prefer either the Eyes for the story aspect, or the wealthy guys for the better rewards...

The aspect of exploring and trading secrets appeals to me and would fit a few of my characters, it's more that "weak outcasts banding together and gaining strength through numbers" thing that doesn't fit for my characters at all. And then, well, how to call it? The hobo aesthetic? The group is led by a (daedric) rat. There are lots of other rats around. Their faction-related housing room looks like a vermin hole, half ruined, full of debris on the floor, and with wooden mine props so the ceiling doesn't come down even more (while the brutes group have some more basic and almost "industrial" room - which is an intact and normally inhabitable room at least - , and the wealthy guys get a room with a gilded floor and golden ornaments on the walls).

So the feeling I first got was that we basically get to choose only between:
    shallow money-loving types
    criminal brutes
    vermin gathering in masses
and that didn't sound very appealing.

Ah, okay. That part was missing from the initial description. That makes it sound a little more relatable and fitting for some ESO player characters.
