We did not learn this, there were no such pages on pts. We just thought this because the tome was so small, but that was all there was on pts. I suppose it may end up being true, but we have no evidence for it.I don’t think it’s super useful anyway because previews in-game will look different than the renders… however, we learned on PTS that there’s pages that have to be unlocked before they can be viewed and THAT’S concerning.

I could have sworn we were told it’s that you spend tome points to unlock further pages but I’m not seeing it so take this with salt and let’s wait and find out. Unless someone remembers what I’m remembering and can find it.

Because my opinion on seeing it was that it was a dev UI thing for how they add pages to it so I must’ve read it somewhere… grah, the forum needs better searching tools. Maybe it was just a theory and I’m misremembering? Anyway, thanks for calling that out, don’t want to spread misinformation…

I know what you mean, that's what we all thought first day of pts. But it turns out there was nothing more. That page was locked but visible. There was nothing beyond it no matter how many tome points you earned. It seems like it was just bad icon selection to indicate a page that was locked, but everything was visible immediately.

On PTS, unlocking access to the third page of rewards required earning a total of 2000 Tome Points.

You are correct that there was only a few pages available to see on pts. The complaint that you'd have to unlock the next page to view it was made but idk if Zos ever clarified.

Ahh interesting. I assume that 2000 was unable to be earned?

But once it releases in two days, we’ll be able to preview most* of it in game.
Now the PTS did have that weird locked page which is dumb and makes no sense - if it’s locked so people can’t preview it, then there’s no impetus to buy it. And it’s not like someone won’t just post the goodies online three seconds after the Season starts anyway.
I do hope they fix some of the UI nonsense we had on PTS though. They changed it so the Tome has a “soft preview,” where the preview automatically starts on mouseover instead of a hotkey. Of course, than means if you mouse off for any reason (like, to rotate your character to be able to actually see the thing you’re previewing, or change the displayed state of mounts or personalities), then it stops. Which made that system 100% useless.
They also changed the purchase from the standard confirmation popup to a “hold to buy,” so I’m definitely expecting a number of threads complaining about the inconsistent UI
My other concern is wanting to know what happens when the Tome track is finished. Most battlepasses when they finish will offer you an endlessly repeatable claim of some small type of currency that doesn't break the bank but is nice to have. Given the Tome caches and subscriber bonuses, it is possible someone finishes the Tome track early and we know from a prior comment that Tome points will not rollover to the next tome so I would really like clarity here before I spend my tome caches.
The third thing is if it's like the pts and you can't see future page rewards until claiming earlier rewards it's going to be annoying. I'm fine with you having to claim things in somewhat of an order but at least let us look at everything on the pass and preview things on upcoming pages. Again, I don't know if this is a pts only thing but I hope they listened to feedback on this and it didn't make it to live.

Up to 2000 Tome Points carry over into the next Tamriel Tome, as mentioned in the in-game help menu.
On PTS, the additional page rewards were previewable at all times, but to be able to actually unlock them, you had to earn the necessary amount of Tome Points mentioned on the bottom of the page first.

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree. I can and do expect them to show us the pages of the battle pass before hand. This is not like a weird request, in my mind. It's actually pretty standard for MMOs with something like this. Swtor, WoW, fallout 76. These games show what is in the pass (also pretty sad to list the big MMOs and they all have gone to battle pass) I don't think it would be hard for them to post an article with screenshots of every page beforehand so we can see what we're buying and the pricing for the items. I'd argue that helping people make informed choices is always the right thing to do, even if the studio doesn't do it for their crown store showcase.
Maybe I'm expecting too much, but it's something I'd like to see after they really get this battle pass stuff dialed in. Some trial and error is to be expected.
I did test on the pts as well with the tome but my memory may be hazy but didn't you have to unlock so many things on page one to see page two, etc? I admit this could be just I've been so busy this year I forgot something.

The problem is the time investment.
The devs have said (source: StreamTeam members in the Discord with the devs) that making articles with everything was a massive time sink - there was one Store Team member whose entire job for the whole month was to… make the monthly showcase. That’s it. As such, with the fact that everyone everywhere is doing three jobs for the price of one, we now get Crown Store showcases that have fewer pictures.
Could they do better? Probably. But honestly we’re not even able to but the tome until it’s live, and the purchase link is on the page where we see what’s in it so it’s not like we can buy it blind. Well, aside from…I did test on the pts as well with the tome but my memory may be hazy but didn't you have to unlock so many things on page one to see page two, etc? No, the normal pages could be flipped through at will, so we could see everything in page 2 without earning anything. It was only the secret last page that was locked beyond earning X points, and I do agree that is a poor way to do things.

My question is, why is this not an entirely transparent thing. The general consensus in guild at the moment is that it's uninformative. To fill a 3 month battle pass you'll need much more than the 3 free cosmetics plus furnishing boxes and 5 premium rewards and you only get 1 costume for spending 30 bucks?
For us to have to spend beyond ESO plus for these items, the entire pass should be laid out for us to see. Every page, and the prices for the items. I don't mind getting behind this battle pass, I'm on board. I'm ready. But why hide things? You've already taken pages from fallout 76's battle pass, so take the transparency (the only thing their transparent about lol) Show us everything. I'm curious why this wasn't done @ZOS_Kevin
I'm I the only person who'd like to have an upfront listing of the pass and prices?

Ok, I slightly misremembered, my bad.
I still wasn't happy with the lock pts testing the tome but as long as they give a full list to us at the very least before the tome makes it to live I'll be a lot happier with the promotions leading up to future Tomes. We get this for crown crates, it shouldn't be that hard to do it for Tomes too. We don't need pictures of every cosmetic just a list of the names of them for a preview/teaser.

A similar topic was just discussed amongst the guild leader Discord. In general, while ZoS communication has become more transparent (awesome, love it, please continue). It has been very piecemeal and in particular there seems to be staffing shortages related to the marketing side of things (the player experience Stream slide looked like it was made in MS Paint).
Let me be clear - i'd rather have janky and inconsistent communication that is transparent then smooth and clear communication that is marketing BS. That said, I dont think both are that hard to accomplish. A few examples of this I outlined in the Guild Leader space:
If you are not a rabid consumer of every news article and live stream I dunno how you would know the dates at a snapshot, you have to look at the March Showcase and then individual articles that follow to understanding this timeline:
3PM ET on Tuesday, March 31st - 2026 Seasons Direct (in the March month showcase )
10 AM ET on April 2nd - Season Zero launches (not in march month showcase, its own post from 01/07/2026)
10 AM ET on April 2nd Jubilee starts (has its own post)
April 13th - PTS U50 (only said on livestream, no official news article)
Yesterday, we got the April Month-at-a-Glance which does not include the April crown showcase items and the community calendar is not updated to reflect: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/community
Another example - the Warrior Wave Bundle Showcase was only 2 days before it released and was NOT included in the March Crown Store showcase, Orsinium 1 day before it was released and it was not included in the December showcase. I get that these crates run longer, but its /crazy/ that you have to go to TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ARTICLES to see basic at a glance information about a singular system (crown stores) and then even when you go to those articles they only include a few marquee items. And this is the norm across almost all of their communication channels.
In short - information is often released in 'controlled bursts' across multiple news articles as opposed to a centralized location and often 'less is more' seems to be the philosophy, when in reality I think most people would rather have more then less. I have a VERY hard time believing that people would dislike there being a centralized calendar, or a list of every tome item, or a list of every crown item. But, maybe i'm in the minority here.
