Because the spawn points (say 4 per dungeon) will be occupied by bots and you'll be ruining like a puppet from point A, B, C and D hoping that you'll catch the boss before it is already dead on the opposite site of the dungeon.drkfrontiers wrote: »Why not randomize the spawn location of the NPC's?
There is one out of the box solution, that sprung to mind yesterday
Because the goldfarmers will always go for the easiest and most lazy way to earn gold.
Put something in the game that normal players do not need, but sells for a lot to the vendor,
That way the bots will all go for it, normal players will not find it anywhere and still not miss it.
And then put all the bots who harvest said material in a few quarantine zones, so no one can see them.
That balances out the whole game, the goldsellers are happy and so are we, the normal players.
I recently had some level 7 and 10 players join our guild and they did not know how to get iron, when i started playing in march the iron nodes were everywhere.
So maybe it is time to think outside the box :-)
But, but, but, didn't bots leave after dungeon boss nerf? No? Wait, didn't they get the memo? They were supposed to leave, not move to every other part of the game.
What makes me madder then bots is people calling for nerfs ie, bosses spawn/loot as a way to "fix" the problem, so now they Nerfed dungeons bosses and it ruins it for the players who like to farm a bit , now dungeons are boring as heck and I just want to leave as fast as i can, most of the whiners likely have stopped playing now , so we are stuck with the results.
Fix the bot issue but dont ruin it for the players who remain paying the subs or we will leave too because of all the nerf batting.Surly there is a better way to deal with it then to nerf everything.

I have reported many many bots, but I don't want to stand around reporting bot after bot. I paid my sub to play, not spend half an hour of my paid time reporting bots. I appreciate that doing so may (and I say may with a degree of doubt) help the situation, but after reporting so many and seeing no reduction. it gets a bit disheartening.
Who says there is no reduction? You do realize a report doesn't automatically ban them, right? There are protocols to look into things to make sure.
I've seen days with no bots, and days with tons. I guess since I've played MMOs since 2001 I'm a bit more jaded. I don't let one little thing ruin my fun. I've been through the FF14 bot fiasco (which was just as bad as here with many innocents being caught in a net, banned for over 2 weeks etc) so I know things start getting ironed out after time.
Please don't get me wrong, I dislike bots too. But I also won't lose sleep or let it ruin my enjoyment of such a lore rich game.
You were leveling from 1 to 8 or VR1 to VR8? Some items are actually area-sensitive, so you'll find more bots in higher level areas and not in lower level areas.
