I honestly don't know how this was missed as it would be so useful. Now I can't do that so you have to withdraw it, place it or preview it and put it back which is just loads of donkey work that can be easily fixed. Please add this. I moved most of my stuff into this before I realised this was an issue which was irritating.

Can you not just go in to the housing editor, set it to only show items from the vault and preview everything from there?

Thank you.

Thank you.

I hope they do continue work in that area because moving a house from one internal category to another internal category is one thing (which Im very thankful for the new limits dont get me wrong) and increasing something like the Lakemire Xanmeer (or other 700 slot homes) to at least 800 slots is another thing.

I don't know. I'll check it out. It's still a low hanging feature to add though isn't it?

500 is way too small still.
I've had to only place stacks of 10+ in the vault to optimise storage. The rest of my furnishings? 56 storage houses. It's ridiculous.
In an ideal world I'd like to be able to place every furnishing in the game in there... proof that I'd completed furnishings by having 1x (or maybe 10x) of each. I realise that's unlikely to ever happen, I mean... that would be like a 8k limit, likely increasing to 10k over a relatively short timeframe.
If I could fit my 5+ stacks in there though It'd cut down the number of houses I need to use for storage massively. 1000 would probably be enough to be there or there abouts but 2000 would probably be enough to get me down to just one or two storage houses for items I only had 1 of each.

This is still currently a limitation due to the impact of performance. We'll continue to look for ways to expand this as long as it does not impact the general performance of the game.

Would it be possible to make the vaults like the storage chests? That way we can have more than 1
<snip>
In fact, we need more QoL for Housing that I'm surprised we haven't gotten yet, such as a search bar and/or filters. The long lists you need to scroll through is...painful (and we also need a search bar REALLY bad for crafting gear when we have as many Motifs as we do and have to manually go through them all).
It would ALSO be great if things could be streamlined more. Currently you have items of one type that are split between a number of different stations; for example Beds are in both Woodworking and Clothing. It can be hard to find something when a lot of stuff is so spread across different crafting stations.
Maybe we could get an entirely new station just for Furnishings? It can keep the current categories like Parlor, Convservatory, Lighting, and so on, and everything that's split between the different crafting lines would then be all in one place. Not only would it make it WAY easier to find stuff with it all in one place (especially when coupled with a search bar and filters like quality), it also means a lot less time wasted running back and forth between the different crafting stations.
Oh, yes, this! I swear I have a furnishing piece that I know the pattern for and can't make because I can't find it in any of the crafting stations. (Leyawiin stool, padded, by the way)
How does it currently work if you stop ESO+? Is it like the crafting bag where anything in there stays but you can't add to it and anything you take out can't be put back?
